Lol If possible, I'd like to see an example of what you mean by "I'm just using my academic knowledge to read these cards" vs "these cards are bringing something else to the table". I think I get what you mean and I think my brain does something similar but I'm not sure. Also, I like the before and after format of impressions you did there. If you ever want to give Marseille a try later down the line, try checking out Amazon France or Canada. More and more creators have started to take artistic liberties like we can see with RWS choices. I've done a few flip throughs of those on my channel and slowly going the handful of Marseille decks I have. I enjoyed watching this, thank you for the video! 😊

Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this deck. I love this deck but I know that everyone has different tastes and hearing your reasoning totally made sense to me. I am shocketh that the Dark Wood Tarot is in your gift box. Sacre bleu! I'm hopeful that you'll find a pip/Marseille tarot deck that will jive with you one day. There's lots of exciting ones coming out lately.
Congrats on the 4K! I agree with your thoughts on wanting decks that actually speak to you. I’ve bought a few that are beautiful, but they don’t really say anything different and I like to read each deck according to its own voice (if that makes sense?). I have two pip decks - Antique Anatomy and one Marseille. I haven’t worked with either yet really - we’ll see what happens when I can carve out some time to see how/if they ‘speak’. And ‘People smell what I am stepping in’ - have never heard that one before 🤣 🤣 🤣.
FWIW - antique anatomy was my first "pip" deck, and its to this day one of my favorites specifically because of its unique voice. It is VERY to the point, cut and dry but in a sassy way...idk how to describe it adequately but it's one of a kind and I love to read with it because it has such a different voice!
Just started watching. I backed this and got both editions of it and the expansion packs as well. I ended up letting them go. Everything about it is scrummy except for the skeletal images. I'm just not a skelly person. Waiting to hear your thoughts.
I got the "vintage" version and hated it upon first opening it. It looked SO DIFFERENT in person. It was expensive for me, too. I think this was the deck that ended my purchases from Kickstarter. 😅 Shoot! If I had known you were interested in it, I would have sold it to you for 20 bucks. The regular version you have looks much better.
