Just want to say that you're the most entertaining MtG Channel I've found. You're very informative and cater to all manner of players, new and old by showing cards on screen when you talk about them, maximizing view on some of the cards when they EtB so we can see them. Honestly, very professional and it shows that you really care about the game and your viewers. Keep doing you.

This is a cool deck! I upgraded it a bit differently though. First I added some shocks and lightning bolts for efficient damage/removal. Since I have low cost instants now I put in a set of ghitu lavarunners. With 4 wizards already in my deck, I decicded to add a set of viashino pyromancers and wizard's lightning. With so many low cost cards, I cut the skeleton and dissenter and added a set of experimental frenzy. To fit the low cost synergy with frenzy I cut the murders and added some firebrands. With so few black cards I cut the black out of the deck completely which let me add chainwhirler. Overall my BR deck with no black cards and experimental frenzy is pretty good.

When I picked this game up a month ago, this was one of the first decks I was awarded with and because I liked the theme, I immediately tried to upgrade it on my own. (Which was silly because I didn't know the sets and it had been a long time since I played magic) That said, I'm very happy to see my train of thought was similar to what you showed here, as I found Angrath and opted to keep the open graves as well. My only mistake was keeping the harpies because I had no idea the card 'makeshift munitions' even existed. So thank you for this! I was super happy to see you showcase this deck this morning and i am definitely going to be adding munitions into my deck now!

I tried to do so too, but I wasn't brave enough to cut anything so all I did was switch the 2/2 goblins for dark dweller oracles, since that's a straight upgrade and suits the goblin and sacrifice theme.

Really liked this video and the final version of the deck. I'd suggest running a couple of Arguel's Blood Fast in the side deck (I run them in my main since I don't have the 4 copies of Reaper yet), it's been super helpful since it works as card draw against slower decks and both as healing and sac outlet when facing aggro and mid range decks.

Before GoR I played a version of this deck. I made it a bit more aggro, only using sacrifice decks to play the long game, though that was mainly because red had great aggro tools.

I just recently got this refurbished deck (almost) together. All I'm missing is the 4 copies of Midnight Reaper. I am now running 2 Costly Plunder and 2 Severed Strands instead, which seem to work alright. This deck is a hoot to play, and a nice change of pace of my usual live for tribal decks. Keep it up LegenVD!!

Hey! Great job as usual. I am a little bit surprise because on each upgrade you made, you talk about Great and efficient cards in the first list and then you just cut them like the black/Red ogre (or the green dryade in Dino deck Who gives "Dino spells cost 2 less"). Maybe you can start by a "low budget" list not that far than the original (here with harpy and ogre without munition) and then the most efficient one. However, all your upgrade videos are awesome and I am waiting for the pirate blue/black video 😊

I'm eagerly awaiting this one as well. It's kinda awkward that there are two artifact theme precons. It seems like they'd get upgraded in similar directions. I've been adding to the blue deck with cards I've picked up from rewards and drafts, and it does ok. A couple more Zahids, a couple Traxos, voltaic servants, skyscanners, a weatherlight.

I wonder if you could also make a UB or Esper artifact deck using Phyrexian Scriptures as a one-sided Wrath, though that might just be a sideboard card vs. aggro

I was also playing around with antiquities war in the deck. It's ok. It usually draws two cards and gets in for five, and more importantly, it forces the opponent to spend removal on skyscanners and thopter tokens before chapter three hits. With some more tuning and more familiarity with the available cards (arena and a new ravnica set has brought me back to the game after a long hiatus), I think it could be pretty good. Also, there's that enchantment that transforms into Tolarian Academy. That seems ripe for a build around, but I'm not sure how to payoff all the mana.

I just played a game with this deck and I had all the right answers at the right time. When my opponent played Gigantosaur, I could snatch it, swing and then put it inside a cannon to ping my opponent.

Thank you for this video, you are great at explaining your moves and what is going on! How do you deal with creatures that have Hexproof? I had a game where someone had one of those blue Hexproof "Cold Water Snapper" and they put a 7/7 trample buff (Prodigious Growth) on it, and I couldn't do anything

Yes, usually do quite a bit of testing, sometimes outside Arena.

Of all the cards that I thought about replacing in the deck for improvement... Ravenous Harpy was not one of them. You can just keep feeding zombies and phoenixes to it if the opponent isn't playing blue or black

Steel Leaf Champion kinds seems OP for its manacost - 5/4 for 3 mana with an additional effect and no negatives. It is a rare but still... Although I guess there are also other cards like 10/10 dino for 5 mana

Would you consider adding any copies of captivating crew?? I know it would give this deck and actual removal target (which takes aways one of its key strengths), but I feel like it feels really good to always have “act of treason” available to you especially since you have make shift munitions essentially giving you “infinite” 4 mana removal with some damage mixed in.

7 mana combo of evil - cast 2 Act of Treason, steal two enemy creatures. Cast thud from one of the stolen creatures, sac the other one to cast it, deal damage. Next, attack with remaining stolen creature, and after damage is dealt sac the remaining creature with Makeshift Munitions to deal 1 more damage.

Why not Costly Plunder over Tormenting Voice or at least a split. You can use it during your opponent turn after declaring a chump blocker or sac a creature about to get exiled (good for the phoenix). If you run a real life version of the deck would you consider dragon egg as a cheap substitute for phoenix or would Brawlbash Ogre and more copy of Demon of Catastrophe be better?

I assume you mean Guilds of Ravnica(GRN).You're not gonna win if you go in blind, but I think you could if you prepare well. Studying one set is easier than studying 5. To maximize your chances, you'll want to study up on how to draft in this particular set. You can watch some videos on this channel or go read some articles.

In a nutshell: 1. Guilds of Ravnica has only 5 archetypes. One for each guild. As a newbie, it's probably a good idea to pick a guild you want to play after the first pack, and only go for cards of those colours. I really feel like the drafting bot employed by the game, makes making a full deck pretty easy. You would normally play only the 2 colours of the guild you chose. Consider going for a third if you have a select few very nice cards in another colour . 2. Search "limited guilds of ravnica review" in Google. Channelfireball has scored the cards in each of the colours, so ctr+f the appropriate cards to help you decide! 3. Curve matters. Try to build a deck so you have a good chance of playing something from turns 2 - 4. 4. In general, the rarer a card is, the better and you should pick it over the others. i.e. mythics > rare > uncommonn, etc. 5. Very broad thing, is that generally your first few picks are based on the power level of the card (i.e. what other people have scored that card), and then you start picking the colours that you have the best cards in.

25:25 could the opponent have tried to destroy the munitions before the 2nd shot went off? I'm still trying to figure out exactly how the stacks work because it seemed like he should've been able to destroy it after the first shot before Legenvd queued the 2nd one.

Destroying the enchantment does not affect the ability that's already on the stack. We can also respond by sacrificing an additional creature.

Wouldn't costly plunder be better than tormenting voice in this deck? It gives you another sacrifice synergy and you wouldn't have to discard a card.

You don't always have a creature to sacrifice early. Costly Plunder gets much worse in multiples, as you will have to spend more mana returning Skeletons, so you don't have time to actually cast the spells you draw.

Continuation to this story- I made some edits to the deck in line with this video with what I had and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Just beat a relatively-serious looking Izzet Drakes deck by burning mana on Reassembling Skeleton + Makeshift Munitions with Open the Graves up, giving him a surprise cocktail of burn and zombies that ended up being lethal. Having a lot of fun with it. Thanks so much. =)

@@LegenVD Hello and thanks for answering. May I ask the reasoning for that? Both cards have the same cost, but with Severed Strands you can potentially clear 2 creatures from the opponent and gain some life back. If I were to guess, Vicious Offering being Instant and not needing a sacrifice to be played would make it more flexible but I'm still not sure.

this deck have hard time versu burn and turbo agro, greem riper and zelot burn me to much neeed some life gain meayby i neeed try severed strands? legend some idea?

Monored will be a bad matchup, you can try Severed Strands but it will not be enough.

@@LegenVD what do you think about arguel blood fast one or two copy ? 5 hp is critical bad can help me sometimes?

@@fikol1989 It is a consideration, but apart from Phoenix we don't have a high toughness creature that we can keep getting back, and they can easily kill the 0/1 to stop that loop. We also don't really need the extra cards from it because of Reaper.
