I just built a rat edh! I went with colony's instead of relentless, only for the fact I'm trying to go swarm and with door of destinies and coat of arms.

Hey man, just wanted to say, Akroma's memorial give pro black, that makes it so any effect by a black source doesn't target/effect it, so Marrow gnawer's fear would go offline for all rats you own.

Colony can be good with anthem effects. Also its an easier skullclamp target if for whatever reason marrow gnawer doesnt work out. Love this deck, a bit pricey for me but worth it from the looks of it!

I agree, but it's card draw or higher toughness creatures. You can't go wrong either way.

Mana Down Under hey i was wondering what is the simplest but most effective for a rats build just stacking rats for a very (casual player) to play. Would Just Rats lands thrumming stones marrow n thornbite staff work? This is just for playing with my friends nothing serious ;)

Your relentless rats also get no buffs from marrow gnawer so there are better commanders you could use for relentless.

Hi...just wondering if I can create this rat commander deck using Dominaria, ocalan, rivals of ocalan, amonket. I can't afford this in paper form...I'm on disability. Can suggest other card from those sets to create it. Again appreciate any help.

Yeah it's do-able, Using rat colony over relentless rats would save you alot. Plus Amonket brings the monument cards. While Ixalan has good tribal support like the Vanquisher's Banner. The main problem is the commander. Marrow Gnawer breaks the deck, but alone he is $20
