Standing or sitting & singing into a microphone without all the antics of many singers, is what I love most about Angelina. They also say flirt with the camera & don't close your eyes, which are other things she doesn't do. She just mesmerizes you into submission with her vocal skills & clearly tells the story of the lyrics. She just released another cover on her YT Cover Channel filmed in a tangerine room at this same studio that have different colored rooms. It's the Beatles song, Yesterday, & man is it beautiful, sung while sitting in a shopping cart. Singing all folded up in a shopping cart is like playing basketball with 1 hand tied behind your back. Just in case you havent figured it out yet - we love almost all of hers that's available on YT 😎 Thats one of her big selling points after all. I agree she doesnt need a bombastic backing - a good piano or guitar backing and just her voice is all thats needed to fill the room.

One of Angelina's best talents is her ability to sing a song that repeats verses and phrases several times and makes it sound different every time. She tweaks the verses every time she sings them. You do see a lot of yellow text used in thumbnails.

Great! For me this version of Billie Jean is pure Gold, and AJA will be one of the greatest voices in music history along with Billie Holiday her great inspiration.

The yellow with the red pants could not be more perfect. It pops. you guys had a lot to say with this one and I enjoyed it a lot. What I love about you two with Angelina is that you are seeing every little thing and your respect for her is strong and it's so present. I appreciate that. I also wanted to tell you I enjoyed when I saw you singing .. and was glad you shared it.

Now she has all that Republic Records money behind her these thing can happen. It takes some courage to take on Icons, but AJ is nothing if not fearless. I think she would have sung it to his face. Angelina is a music genius and instead of "covering" this iconic MJ song she takes it to a another level and creates a jazz/bluesy masterpiece, just who she is. She is fearless and will take on any song and do her thing. Grew up hearing this song and it is the first time I think I actually understood the lyrics. I suspect the pragmatic answer is that the audio is from her performance in the yellow room whereas the video from the takes in the other rooms were inserted in post production. Fewer insert edits of the other rooms means less work matching the visuals to the audio track. It's the reason Angelina might appear to be lip-syncing in some of her 'produced' videos. To make it appear as though there are multiple camera angles, she actually performs multiple takes, each as close to identical as she can, then the video editor places video clips from the various takes onto the isolated audio timeline, meaning it's the editor doing the "lip-syncing" if you like. She is singing, even if not always the actual audio the listener is hearing at any given moment. The most obvious example is towards the end of 'I Put A Spell On You' when she appears to be in the booth wearing cans, then fronting the musicians, then back in the booth.

She also recently covered "Heal the World" (also Michael Jackson), "When You Believe" (Whitney and Mariah duet - but Angelina sings it by herself to make it fair!), and " All I Ask" (Adele). Love the reaction and your banter. As the other Angels have mentioned , Angelina’s latest video is Yesterday. She shot the video in the same location as Billie Jean. The set that Angelina is using is a commercial space available to rent for filming in Los Angeles. Called the Color Crib.

I just found out about this vocalist, so yeah I am STILL mesmerized by her earliest performances, it's a trip reconciling her age and the tamber of her voice.

True great Artists do not need to jerk around with big light ,smoke,...etc...A voice a piano that's where you can judge true talent! There is( rare) exception of course, MJ, Prince , Freddy Mercury of course. She work with her voice as an instrument, mixing in runs that sounds like a saxophone participating. No wonder it sounds a lot is going on, despite the fact the lonely piano.

Andrea, you know it just makes me miss you more with releasing this now. When I always say that you are a matched set, this was a great example. You had different observations, but they blended well. And anyone who can meet Sean at his level impresses me! This was a great reaction to a great cover. Some of her lowest register whispers are as much a function of not being quite able to get to a note that is unattainable. And she makes it work. The jazz queen, yeah it fits.

She is very creative and walks on ground that has never seen human footstep previously. Some people sing, some preform but Angelina does it all in a way no one else has ever done it. That is called being a prodigy.

I recommend Angelina's cover of Etta James' "I'd rather go Blind". A vocal tour de force delivered from her living room couch.

I think that the background colours here are very clever. My guess is that the full scene has been filmed normally, with predominantly a white / magnolia room with white accessories, and then the background has been digitally "selected-out" as a separate layer, to enable the colours to be easily switched. More to the point, Angelina's jazzy arrangement is spectacular. It is my bet that Michael Jackson would have loved this!

As far as I can tell, you haven't reacted to any of her original songs. I absolutely love "7th heaven". I prefer the official studio performance, but all the versions are good (and slightly different). "Million Miles" is a very emotional song which she wrote after her maternal grandpa died (her paternal grandpa died just over a year before, and then she sang a cover of Always on my mind). I would suggest the official music video of Million Miles which features Angelina's little sister and uncle in the roles of young Angelina and her grandpa. Love your reactions.
