I’ve always said that my boat, also a 381 Catalina, is an easy boat to wash compared to most other 38 to 40 foot boats. ( another potential selling point for you) You can keep almost all of the washing around waist level and there is no reaching high over head to reach anything. There is also very little risk of falling overboard as long as you are not washing your boat barefooted. Chad, I didn’t think I would like the bar top you made to replace the original one, but it does look like the new one gives you a nice place to eat and also a work desk area. 👍

I totally agree...it is an easy boat to wash, but I still don't like doing it. LOL! It's my least favorite thing to do owing a boat...any boat. The new countertop is so awesome. Really opens up the space, and it's much more functional. Super happy I did that...even if I only get to use it for a short while until the boat sells.

Chad! The boat looks great. Love your pride of ownership. Tomorrow I'm taking friends out for a late afternoon/evening boat cruise on Lake Union. I'm having my little 21' Cobalt launched early so I can clean her up a bit before my pals arrive. You've inspired me to do a more thorough cleaning than I normally do. Batteries are charging for the vacuum and such. It's been a beautiful summer for boating here in Washington. Plan to be out three days in a row if I use enough sunscreen. :)

Thanks John! It's one of my least favorite things to do, but I have to keep her looking good! The weekend on your Cobalt sounds awesome!! Hope you have a fantastic time with your buds!

Hey Chad nice job! Do you ever use any product to restore the isinglass? I have a couple of things I've bought but never used. I don't clean mine nearly as often as I should so they are in bad shape. Plus, with our boat we have to remove and reinstall the front ones every single time we use the boat and so the wear and tear is bad.

Thanks Jeff! On my Regal, some of the panels were pretty bad, and I used a finishing compound with a rotary buffer to get them shiny again (this was a lot of work). After the fogginess was gone, I used IMAR cleaner to keep them looking decent. All I use on the Strataglass on Thirsty Whale is a wet microfiber (warm/hot water), and a dry one to wipe clean...but the Strataglass on the Whale is in nearly perfect condition, so I haven't used products on it. Here's the cleaner I used- www.amazon.com/dp/B000E78SZS/?coliid=I24AEYXT8P8QYS&colid=2LXFRYEQOM7Q4&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

@@eternitysshore If you do polish them, make sure they are CLEAN first, and use LOW speed on the buffer. If too much heat builds up, you'll damage them beyond repair. Just a word of caution. It isn't hard to do, but you have to take your time.

Hello Chad. I enjoy watching your videos, thanks for sharing them 🙂 I have written to you a couple of times to see if you would like another project. I have a 1962 Alumacraft Maracaibo that I would love to have restored. Please let me know if you are interested and I'll give you more details. Thank you. James Fiksdal

Thanks James! Glad you're enjoying the videos. As far as projects go, unfortunately I won't have a place to do restorations for a while...and no place to keep projects in the waiting. I appreciate you thinking of me tho!

Thank you Chad for replying. If you know of anyone (who is reasonable...lol) that would like a winter project, let me know. She's in pretty good shape, just want her inside redone and a new paint job. Thanks. James Fiksdal
