The Glock 34 has always been my favorite Glock. Use code HONEST for 25% off your Handle It Grips order: www.handleitgrips.com/ TAG Precision Sights: www.avantlink.com/click.php?t...
@@milehighgimpster mostly just barrel length. The 17L has a 6 inch barrel while the 34 has a 5.3 barrel if I remember correctly. The 34 was made to fit in a competition box bc the 17L was too long to fit
Same here, added some ameriglo suppressor height sights, holosun competition, extended mags and an olight valkyrie...already love the look and feel, definitely going for that bob cut next
I just bought a Glock 34 Gen 5 and a Glock 44 as my first firearms. After looking at over 30 different pistols, and being totally confused by all the choices, I decided to go with the firearm that felt best in my hand. The 34 felt like it was made for me, it just felt right.
I can buy Glock mags at my local farm and ranch store. Glocks are not perfect, but Glocks and their clones have become so ubiquitous that they are a great pistol to use for the daily driver.
Well they go bang. With the glock aftermarket being so expansive, you can make it damn near perfect. I've a P80 with an overwatch trigger that feels nicer than shadow systems approaching 3000 trouble-free rounds.
During the height of the pandemic supply chain shortage when entire shelves were empty, I *STILL* saw Glock mags available in-store when no other mags were.
The TAG Precision sights are fantastic! One note though, you mentioned how to replace broken light tubes. On the TAG sights, they are made for quick user replacement WITHOUT cutting, or burning, etc. These sights are made to make the replacement easy with a fibre-lock screw and an included wrench. Super quick, super easy. Great way to upgrade your old favorite!
I wasnt a big Glock guy, but now I own a 43XMOS, 19X, 44, 42, and most recently the 34MOS. No issues with any of them, they all serve a purpose and function flawlessly.
Same, started with M&P moved to Glock. Didn’t have any issues with M&P other than grip texture rubbing skin, but I just found the 43x to be the perfect size for carry for me and Uber reliable.
43XMOS is the PERFECT sized carry gun for me here in RI. 0 issues ever. Grip texture with a holosun 507k and I'm good to go. Vedder holsters does a nice job keeping me nice and concealed too.
I picked one up a few months ago to shoot in production. My pro tip is that if you sign up for GSSF ($30), you get a coupon to buy a Glock at the LE price at Blue Label dealers and the G34 is the highest discounted gun if you go that way and so I got mine for $160 off ($550). I was comparing a variety of guns at the time and ended up with the G34 because while it might not be as good as a Shadow 2, X5 Legion, or the other popular guns in production, at $550 it's significantly cheaper and I sort of hold on to the "I'll just get good" mentality. But I'll buy a Shadow 2 eventually.
Good tip for anyone looking at Glocks, but if you aren't set on the Glock, then the P10F mentioned in the video is almost certainly the best bang for the buck. Can be had for $365 in the OR sku (or $300 if you dont want an optic or want to mill it).
That’s how I bought a G19. I shoot CZ’s in Production and borrowed a Glock for GSSF. Glocks are great. I wish they had metal mags so the grips were less blocky , but you can train for that.
I have the same thoughts of whether a Glock 34 would be the better option than a shadow 2. By the time you're done modifying the Glock, you'll be at shadow 2 pricing, which needs no mods. Or... You can buy a Canik that is priced amazing and has incredible performance out of the box. With all that being said, I'd go with the Glock if it were a duty style gun. Glock reliability is hard to beat.
In Germany as a marksman you have to choose wisely what pistol you want to buy because the number of pistols you can own is limited to three pistols or revolvers. So I thought about it for a long time and choose the G34 for my first pistol and until now only pistol. Not the baddest choice I guess. And, there is a german company called "Norlite" near where I live who produce a changing system that changes my G34 to a pistol carbine with a own barrel (Norlite USK) and according to German law, this system counts as a weapon and I don't lose any valuable space on my weapon card. The Norlite is also cool. 😬
When I visited friends in Germany a few years ago during “Schutzenfest” we went to their range; everyone used high end Olympic quality air rifles and pistols because the laws are so restrictive. Made me value our albeit threatened (American) freedoms all the more.
If you would have taken the G35 instead you could shoot 40S&W, 357 SIg and 9mm out of the same gun just with a barrel switch. And in 9mm you also need a G17 mag.
I've been watching your channel since I became interested in guns. That was about two years ago and I've been a big fan of yours ever since. I bought a Glock 34 because I saw it on your YT. I don't regret it :) Greetings from Poland.
Great video! My first pistol was the G17, and I love it for appendix conceal and open carry for duty. I bought the 17L slide, a little extra weight and the easiest sight alignment for consecutive shots. As a practical man, I think I'll always be a Glock fanboy and love the no BS look of them.
I have the DR920L from Shadow Systems and absolutely love it. It is literally just a G34 with SS name and look on it. Never malfunction once, even out of the box (which they recommend 200-250 rounds break-in period), except for malfunctions I induced intentionally to train. It's insanely flat shooting, easy to point, easy to handle, returns to zero really well. It's a bit longer to carry for duty/concealed but some people do it without an issue. as a 5'10" 160 lbs, there's no shot that I can conceal this thing lol. I still can't decide if the G34 sized would be my combat pistol, or would it be my G45 sized gun. They both have an X300U mounted on them.
I had the Handleit Edge grips, and I think the texture was pretty nice. I say had because they started pealing immediately on my PDP, due to some weird adhesion issues with the backstrap. They supposedly sent me a replacement as an apology for not testing whether the grips would stick to rubber, but the replacements never arrived (tracking number was generated). I'd honestly recommend silicon carbide if you are going to use the gun for competition and stippling if you are going to carry the gun.
Your vids have almost convinced me to buy a Glock. I am generally a fan of Berettas, Walthers, and 1911A1s, but the times I have gotten a firearm based on your recommendations have always been good, I'm seriously thinking about a Glock. Honestly, I'll probably end up dipping my toe in the water by getting a PSA Dagger first.
Don't bother with the Dagger, get an LEO trade-in Glock from Aimsurplus or Kings Firearms Online. I'm a fellow metal frame guy and 1911s are my favorite, but I don't regret getting my cheap used G19 Gen 3.
I would say jump on it. I started into 1911s and Berettas. Then I got a Glock bc I wanted that universal gun everyone had for prepping reasons. Parts, mags, holsters ect. Well, then I realized I started liking and carrying my now Glocks more than more other pistols
My most recent gun purchase was a G34. I have a few Glocks but this is now my going to the city EDC. I think I'll upgrade the mounting plate based on your advice.
I loved my Gen4 G34. Carried I’d as often as I did my Gen3 G19. Probably the only Glock I’ve owned and liked even more was my Gen3 G20. Because full power 10mm is just beautiful!
I was pistol shopping at the time. I wasn't a Glock fan, but when I picked up the G34, Gen5, it went home with me. It was the first pistol I ever bought. Still is my favorite, along with my Canik TP9 FSX. Two of the best, IMHO. Great shooters, reliable and eat any 9mm you put through them.
Glocks, the Red Headed Freckled Step-child. Ugly but can take a beating. I have the G19, G17 and SF20 all Gen 3. You can throw them against a wall and they will still rock. Try that with your Staccato or Atlas. LOL! KEEP ON ROCKING!
Throws against the wall Breaks cheap plastic irons lol Glocks are good but I doubt I'll ever buy one They just don't do it for me and I think they're pricey for the features
@@TheDarksideFNothing You are correct about the plastic sights, they SUCK! That being said, if SHTF a Glock would be on my list. Either way KEEP ON ROCKING!
Great tip on going to the larger back-strap as I have similar hands. I’m old my eyes aren’t good and am certainly not a marksman or competitive shooter. My Gen 5 G34 just received a Faxon Match barrel and I watched video after video on polishing stock trigger bars n arms etc and did so a couple days ago. Again I am old but not a super experienced pistol shooter and only practice at 10-11 yards at this point a couple times a month. First two shots were in the bullseye and was so excited I pulled my third shot a lil and 4th hit the bull. Not promoting the barrel change as my hero the Honest Outlaws recent video suggested not to do that right after I had just bought the sucker…but dang! Trigger control certainly improved a little as I did not go hog wild on polishing (yet) nor have I upgraded the trigger arm (on the way). I know there are better guns but I sure do like the way the G34 just feels in my hand. It points and shoots quicker imo than other pistols I have tried. I have had CZ P10C’s and P10F’s and honestly those guns were just better than me at the time. My two favorite guns are my G34 and my Walther PPQ Q5 Match. If I was forced to sell one I would keep the G34. In fact the Walther had sat for two years as a safe queen without being fired until this month. I owned one before an M1 with the Paddle mag release on the trigger guard. When my wife and I go on walks or bike rides I carry the G34 concealed. Mountain hikes I own a Gunfighters Inc chest holster for the PPQ…
I used a brand new gl34 with the big slide cut behind the front sight on the top of the slide, for qualifications, it jammed like 10 times and was lubed
Been trying to get my buddy to come off his gen 3 glock 34. I'll probably just end up getting a gen 5 cause I really like red dots on my handguns. Great video as always
Funny, just got back from the range with my G34.5. Moved my Dawson Precision sights to it and added a Glock Performance Trigger. Going to a GSSF Match this weekend. Thinking about putting the Holosun Red Dot on it that screws directly to the slide without an optics plate.
Sure would be nice but being in ca I'm stuck with minimal gen 3 Glocks 'allowed' to us... So my favorite is my G19 with a few accessories including a set of black rubber Handleit Grips to make it as close to a gen 5 as it can get. Good stuff as always Chris, thanks. Stay safe God Bless ✌️ 🇺🇲
I started shooting a Glock 23 in the 1980's when they were relatively new in the US. I love the G34 and the G35, and I have most of the other models as well. I'm not a race gun guy, I'm more interested in reliability for carry and home defense. I have other handguns in the collection but I shoot the Glocks the most, by far... and my natural point of aim is cemented in to the Glock grip angle so I'm not going to fight that at this point. Throw in the mag compatibility with the CMMG PCC's, and others... I'm happy to stay with Glock. Good review. Thank you.
I took my g34 shooting, I was shooting an old Propane Cylinder, it was empty, don't worry. The g17 would not go through, the g34 would. This was before I swapped out to a ported barrel. I wouldnt be surprised if I've lost some velocity, but it was amazing the difference a half inch would make
I have 2 34s. One is “luckily the Taran Copperhead with SRO and the other is a Gen4 POF upper, timney, and Taran GM magwell (which is more like the JW2 34). I’m still trying to get the Black combat master upper but no luck. To answer your question I would absolutely get a GEN five because I carry a 19 X with a radian ram jet and it is aside for my shadow too and the copperhead my favorite pistol. I tried the P for a little while and just didn’t fall in love with it and I constantly find myself circling back to Glock…(and CZ). Maybe one day Taran will come out with G5 slides and then I’m all the way in
Been thinking about getting a Glock for a while. And this gives me some ideas. And thanks to my local gun store, I can even get it customized. Gonna turn it into a Vault Tec glock.
I’ve got quite a few pistols and I’m a coach of a youth shooting team. I donated a 34.5 MOS to the team to show parents why they shouldn’t buy a Glock, then I fell in love with the damn thing! I actually love the trigger and the sights don’t bother me one bit. The Holosun SCS is amazing on it is direct to slide mount (no plate) so I can cowitness with the factory sights. I shoot my whole collection often and the 34 is always in the top 4 or better in my hands. I love it!
Yes I just paid my blue label 34 off, picking it up tomorrow and turning into a tuned comp gun. If it’s 34 or 17l you can’t fuck with it when it comes to it beast a beast of all trades. Especially in the gen 5 series. Also for the people that could comment about the 17l making its way into the gen 5 series, I own the gen 3 version and have kitted it out and I love that weapon but I wanna do the same to a different glock on the comp (competition) series
I've been looking for a good home defense or nightstand gun and the Glock 34 is one I've been eyeing for some time. I have a number of Glocks and I've been carrying the G26 most of all for years. Love them! Initially, I didn't think the G34 would be good for this purpose but watching your videos about it as a platform I can see how it may be my best choice. Currently my G23 .40 cal is my go to for the nightstand. I'm getting old not and I shoot the 9mm best! Any advice for my nightstand gun would be greatly appreciated. Y'all have a wonderful Friday & weekend! I love your channel... God Bless!
As a gen 3 34 owner it would be nice to have the grip panels and MOS system. I did have Millet sights put on it back in the day and the front sight was drilled for a second hole so it could be pinned so it would take some work to go fiber optic but still runs great after several thousand rounds.
bro when are you going to have a competition shoot between the CZ shadow 2 Compact, the Staccato CS, the Glock 17, and Sig Sauer Compact Legion? Also, love the hell out of the channel and subscribed with happiness :D
My 34 is a Gen4 17 originally (and registered as such in Hawai’i), I have a Zev Orion slide on it and custom ultra rough stippling & undercut from my local gunsmith. I just sold my 1 MOA SRO to my friend, so I am going to get an RMR HD so it is a little bit more robust. I still shoot my M&P 9L (1.0 5”) & 2.0 9 (5” Tan) both with Apex triggers and CZ P-10F & P-10C better than any of my Glocks.
I carry a hellcat pro and just love the grip texture on it. Can carry all day without it chafing, but it really sticks in the hand when you need it to….
I love my 34, I shoot it competitively and have changed the sights, put a Timney alpha in it and put some talon sandpaper grips on it, and it shoots like a brick but it’s awesome
Great review! I currently don't own a 34, I am using a Shadow Systems DR920L. I do have a Glock 17L with Talon grips, Kensight adjustable sights, a Timney Alpha trigger, tungsten guide rod, and a KKM barrel. That gun shoots VERY soft, it's still reliable as can be, the trigger is great, and the accuracy (grouping capability) is outstanding, holding rested groups in the 1" area with the right ammo and when I do my part of course. It was due to your loyalty of the 34 that I decided to stop being the "Anti-Glock" and try them out.
I have the same Gen 5 model 34. Been working on it a little: double undercut the trigger guard, Ameriglo suppressor height sights, Talon grips, and the Glock Performance Trigger (lightly polished). I want to put in the Johnny Glocks Vex trigger shoe next and see how that is. Glocks are fun if you like to tinker, but I do agree that there's a lot more options out there for pistols than there used to be. Oh, and does anyone else not like the way their trigger finger drags a bit on the small trigger guard of a Glock? Does it make a difference? I'm not sure (I'm not a competitive pistol shooter).
I met the TAG Precision sights guys at SHOT, the fiber optic sights are genuinely 2-3x brighter than ordinary (dawson precision for example) sights. Great construction on the swappable fibers too.
I own 3 g34s. Carry one appendix everyday in a tier1 msp holster with x300, and like you said in the video gen 6, gen 7, etc. Ill probably buy one of those too 😂
Had the older gen 34 for years in IPSC ran flawless in countless matches. Eventually sold it and now have 2 of the newer Gen 5 34's. They just work, they aren't Ferrari's but they also don't require any special attention, don't care what you feed them, run no matter how badly you abuse them. If war broke out it is without a doubt the pistol I would choose for a side arm over anything else.
Gen 5 G29 is my first and only glock. I still prefer my smith 9mm for the grip feel but didn't trust their 10mm so I went for the g29 as a compact option... I like it but I just can't get used to the grip feel.
