Hawthorne 4500 (3000 leaves and flowers + 1500 mg of berries) Craetagus Monogyna. Works well. Growing it in Australia is outlawed, due to it's rapid spread. I remember the amazing perfume from the flowers growing up in England. It is also beneficial for healthy skin. My parents both suffered with Angina and stroke. At 78 I am still good. Thank you Robin. My Canadian G.P. keeps me up to date on the Hockey!!!!
I recently moved into a new house and in my garden I have two Hawthorn trees and two overgrown Hawthorn bushes. I started cutting the bushes back and then thought "if a plant is protecting itself with spines/needles it must produce fruit or flowers, I wonder if it has any benefits" 🤔 Started researching and here I am 😊 🙏🏿🇬🇧🇦🇬
Appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. At 62, I finally found a Naturopathic Doctor to keep me on my health journey. Hope people finally come to realize how valuable Naturopathic Doctors are for preventative medicine.

Thank you for this info very informative. Hawthorn was one of Dr John Christopher favourite plants , also where I live in the U.K. in 2020 especially the Hawthorn bushes were weighted down with fruit 🤔. I take it but not on a regular basis , I need to get back to dong so. Will pass info along and subbed , here is to continual growth in your channel. Keep up the great work. Peace , love and abundance , have a great week.
Hi Dr Robin, thank you very much for your video on this subject. Could you recommend any books on the taking of natural pathic herds and plants and the correct quantities in which to be taking them please. Please keep posting more videos like this one. Many thanks take care. ❤

Very well presented. Thank you. I just started taking Hawthorn tincture and have been taking Hibiscus in the form of a supplement so looking forward to its cardiovascular benefits.
Hi Dr. Robin. Really enjoying your videos! I wanted to ask you about your thoughts on another extract and that's Pycnogenol from French maritime pine bark. Seems to be very popular as well with regards to regulating plaque in the arteries and promoting healthy arterial circulation.
Great video! More about medicinal herbs, please!! Although it was not specifically covered in the video, I am assuming that I can tincture the hawthorne leaf and berries together? Thank you again! 👍👏

Good day Dr Lewis. Thank you for sharing such vital information. Would you know where I can buy organic Hawthorn Berries here in South Africa or where to order? I'm desperate. Thanks!
Hi, I’m glad you got value from it! Unfortunately I wouldn’t know which are available to you over there as each country regulates these things differently
thank you Dr. Lewis. it was a very educational presentation and I always wondered if this plant was really effective for my condition. Now i am more confident. I am a 73 year old guy with CHF and i was diagnosed with many blocked arteries and i was at the hospital for 3 weeks to clear all the water accumulation. How much hawthorne should i take for efficiency? i was on Dr. Esselstyn diet for 4 months after the hospital and it helped. how much should i take and for how long before i see results. the Dr. Esselstyn diet is sever and i was wondering so i discovered intermitten fasting and the NO diet. Can you help?
Hi, unfortunately I can’t give direct medical advice and exact dosing. If you look up the plants monograph online they can give more details on dosing and forms of hawthorn ❤️
Dr. Robin, is Indian Hawthorn Ballerina the same herbal plant you’re talking about? I have that plant and I’m wondering if it’s the same. And thank you for your knowledge. God bless you ♥️
Great presentation, Dr. Robin. I am based in UK, and l want to buy Hawthorn Berry supplement by Swanson. Please, what's your opinion, or which would you recommend? Thank you!
I’m not familiar with that particular company but I would check to see if they do third party testing before buying. It’s not always required and the supplements industry can be known for not having what they actually claim is in the bottle.
Hi Doc. Can you give me advice on how to wean off blood pressure meds and anti-arrhythmic Amiodarone? I really want to go the alternative route. Thanks.
Unfortunately my college doesn’t allow me to give direct medical advice on this platform but it’s something you will want to work on with a naturopathic doctor or functional medicine practitioner who is well versed in holistic approaches to cardiovascular health. I hope that helps
It depends where you’re located but brands like Pure encapsulations, NFH, St Francis, AOR and Natural factors are all good brands that’s sell Hawthorn ❤️
Thanks Dr for such informative video, I have low blood pressure and a higher heart rates that fluctuates, normal cholesterol, normal blood sugar but recently suffered a heart attack, now I’m on medications that’s lowering my blood pressure even more, I was thinking of taking hawthorn until you said it’s not good to take if you have low blood pressure, what can I take instead of hawthorn
I honestly can’t tell you one direct alternative because hear rate and heart disease needs a holistic approach and there are so many causes. I highly recommend working with a holistic practitioner that will look at all aspects of your health before recommending specific products.
I absolutely love Hawthorne. I don’t have high blood pressure, sometimes it’s even a bit low(not dangerously low) I know you say not to take it if you have low blood pressure but when the weather gets hot, my legs and ankles start to swell and it’s very uncomfortable. I’ll start taking some Hawthorne tincture in water throughout the day…as directed on the bottle. I’m amazed how well it works for me. I’m not exaggerating my legs and ankles go back to normal within the day. I was wondering if it should be something l should take regularly through the year or maybe best just when I find I’m getting swelling in the legs?
Thank you so much for sharing! That makes sense as it’s also very good for the integrity of your blood vessels. It typically works best as a continuous therapy but with your low blood pressure you just want to be cautious. If you’re starting to get dizziness, weakness, or other signs of very low blood pressure I would stop. However, if you don’t, then it might be worth taking as a continuous supplement :)
Hello Dr Robin from London. Excellent presentation. Im currently on beta blockers, digoxin for afib and blood thinners as well as diuretics. Is it safe to also take Hawthorn or will that be going overboard....
There are many causes but it can be an energy deficiency condition (stress, poor sleep and alcohol), it can be nutrient related (b12, Zinc and magnesium) or other causes. These are some things to look into!
Dr. Robins i have been diagnosed of multiple heart failure since 2022 i have my maintenance medicine which is furosemide and spirinolactone after my hospitalizations last 2022 i did not go again for check up because the doctor said i need operation but i dont want operation,,,this year 2024 i started drinking herbal tea and my condition got better .Can i take the Hawthorne supplement? Thank you for the response and God bless 🙏 Best regard here in Philippines
Hi, the Hawthorne berries are very safe and have shown to be effective so I can’t see why not. That being said you may want to consult a practitioner who can help you implement it effectively ❤️
I used metoprolol 25 for arythmia. I want to stop with that and take hawthorne 200 mg, garlic 100 mg. But now i do t feel wel. Should i go on with half a metoprolol for 6 months in combination with the natural meds?
If you’re looking for more traditional preparations there are many different ways and you don’t just use the seed, in fact it’s the berries that carry the majority of the active compounds I like. If you google crataegus oxyacantha monograph you will see that the dose and safety completely depends on how you prepare it. Monographs are what herbal medicine practitioners use to clarify how these various different preparations can be used safely. I hope that’s helpful.
It blocks arginase*** Arginase is an enzyme that stops the production of nitric oxide. Arginine is one of amino acids needed for nitric oxide production. So essentially blocking arginase (which is what Hawthorne can do) or giving arginine both promote nitric oxide production which can be helpful for heart conditions like A Fib.
@@dr.robinlewis ok thanks now i will like to make capsules for him how much should he take daily i use the 00 size and he doesnt have hypertension or diabetes
