In this video I provide a close look and explanation of my finished 2021 Lunar Rock Toyota Tundra TRD Pro “build.”
To me, this is perfect. Anything more would take away from the truck’s appeal in my opinion. What are your thoughts?
Build Details:
- Nitto Ridge Grapplers (295/70/18)
- Westcott Designs Rock Sliders (DOM, TIG welded, w/ top plates… powder coated black)
- Diamondback HD bed cover
- iKamper Skycamp 2.0 Roof Top Tent (finished in bed liner)
- 20% Ceramic Window Tint all around
- 70% Ceramic Window Tint windshield
- Tuffskinz “TRD Pro” decals for bed stamps
- AJT Designs Interior trims pieces
- Black TRD OEM Shift Knob
- Center Console Wireless Charging Tray
- Driver Side Grab Handle
That’s it! Nothing crazy… =]

I have my 2021 tundra with 30k miles and I dont see my self selling it anytime soon. Infact I plan to keep the truck for the next 10 years or more. Having a reliable tried and true platform is why I'm keeping it. It does everything I need to do and fits me perfectly.

Beautiful Tundra Untamed and tastfully done! Could you comment on the change in ride quality when upsizing tires? I have the same 21 TRD Pro and am curious how well the Fox suspension works with heavier tires. Maybe a topic for a future video? Thanks!

I think your big “why” was selling the LC200. I would like to have seen more of an overland build out on that. The Tundra is very tastefully done.

Might be a little late, but I am looking to do the same tent setup on my 2019 trd pro. Do you know how many inches above your roof the tent went? I have about 5 inches to spare parking in my garage and want to make sure it will fit before I go for it.

Looks like you have custom mud flaps. You think a smaller tire like an LT275/65R20 or an LT285/60R20 would work with the factory mud flaps? I’m trying to get about a 34” tire on my 21 Tundra TRD Sport 4x4 without having to remove anything. Thanks 🙏

Great videos, I realize this truck is long gone, but wondering if you ever tried the pedal commander? I have it on my 21 trd pro tundra, it is an amazing product.

Thanks brother! I had a pedal commander on my 2019 4Runner TRD Pro but never on one of my Tundras. I never thought this 5.7 needed additional power… I thought it was perfect.

@Untamed Motors gotcha, the tundra felt good, but honestly, in city mode, it's perfect. A smooth responsive throttle, absolutely no lag . I just installed the esp long gun storage, I'm not much of a vlogger but I'm thinking of making a video on it. Thanks for all u do and provide helpful info brother.

Looks like the tent is causing a bit of rear sag? Btw, I ordered some new tail lights to replace the 1980s ones. After that all I wanna do is add the tailgate lock. Do you have a tough time seeing out the windshield at night? I need to do something about mine, but don’t want to struggle to see at night.

Yeah a little bit of sag. =\ Nice man. Send me a pic on IG when you get them on. No troubles seeing out of the windows at night. No issues whatsoever.

They did have the grab handle driver side on the previous generation Tundra which was actually very nice to have. I don't understand why they removed it.

I have 285’s and no rub and still look just as good. He had 285’s on his other LunaRock Pro.

Do you have any spacers or anything on? Since the tires rub a tad bit?

No spacers, I wanted to avoid using them. The rub is subtle at this size.

Out of curiosity where did you sell your Tundra? I have ‘21 LR TRD Pro Tundra and would love to get 65k for it. I was in negotiations for a TRD Pro 4runner in Lime Rush but my local dealer wouldn’t let go of the ADM (5k) and a terrible trade in value. Overall, trying to get a ‘22 4runner. I refuse to pay ADMs btw lol

Beautiful truck, Hate to see you sell it. Idea for you here; find a classic Land Rover if possible, or any classic 4x4 for your channel .......Blazer, Bronco, early model Tacoma etc.

So, when the tent is installed, the tonneau is now useless? Not sure why anymore would want to deal with crawling in under the tonneau to get their shit out.

Need a new leaf pack to take on that sag!...Tundras have saggy rear ends and nobody likes a saggy rear end : ( which will get worse when you load it up with a cooler and some gear. Overall though super sweet build. You really gonna sell it? What are you going to want more than this?

@@alexaltaly2258 sold it for $65K with 5K miles if I recall. They’ve come down a little but not much. You could comfortably aim for 60-62K with less than 10K miles.

@@UntamedMotors thanks man, I’m so torn on selling it. I love the truck and hard to find another truck that’s comparable. Plus I live in Florida so everything has a massive adjusted markup. I either keep it forever or sell now 🤦🏻‍♂️ do you regret selling yours, do you prefer your Tacoma or 4 runner?
