Don’t think she’s overreacting, I think the Inlaws need to mind their own business! It’s her hard earned money nobody else has a right to say how she spends it!
Yeah I agree to some degree, but also, I think she IS fking bowling! Coz she said that her job is paying well and also she saved! So that is a language of someone that they KNOW they are doing fking well but they trying not to disclose it! Not because they are humble but they don't want ppl to snoop in! Two totally diff attitudes although subtle! I suspect strongly that she DOES in fact, has a particular way of showing off her wealth and that she carries herself as superior!!! Hence it's griting on them on the other side! So I understand both sides tbh! I can see how she could be bloody annoying and it's their way of trying to take her down a peg, and in reverse, she doesn't like to be judged for her money. But she needs to look very carefully at herself and how she Carrie's herself with her money! If she has some arrogance superiority complex!!
@@bluebellcrushedvelvet there's nothing wrong if she is hiding how much she earns just so people don't snoop in. People can be jealous and envious. It's smart to hide your wealth. And in laws who are they? They are your husbands family. They have no right on you and no right on your money. They need to have shame and keep their nose out. If they want money they can go and earn it not be greedy and expect her to give them.

Agreed, she should definitely call our the kids and tbh it might even be fine to lightly nip it in the bud with the in-laws if it’s really getting to her. E.g ‘haha, listen Alhamdulillah I am blessed and I also work really hard 😊 but ain’t nobody rolling in it, in this economy so let’s stop haha’. But idk that’s just how I’d deal with it, subtle but bringing it to their attention cos sometimes they don’t even realise they’ve got into a habit of going on about the same thing lol
Lol I would say why does it concern you, it's not your money so mind your own business. Many in laws don't stay within their limits they cross the line it needs to stop and they need to be put in their place. They can't expect respect when they are being disrespectful themselves
The ADHD video would be really good. A log of people with mental health would appreciate knowing how the process to looking into it would be. Great video and question! Definitely just have to pick your battles and just learn to ignore sometimes x
Why is saying nothing the high road? You can gently defend and explain yourself in a way to get them to understand. Reprimanding the kids instead of the adults doesn’t make sense because the adults are the one who created the problem.
I don't think it really matters how they're saying it. If it bothers her, it's legit. That doesn't mean she has to confront her in-laws, but she should at least be able to claim her own feelings. After that, then she can decide if it bothers her enough to do something about it.

Its pure jealousy. In laws especially the mother in-laws most cases never had any income of there own they were at the mercy of the husbands family. They had ask permission just to live life and if the husbands parents controlled him it’s the finally word. No freedom no extra lavish gifts no holidays nothing. New younger brides have the Mrs independent syndrome where they have the education job and money and car of there own. So there husbands or husbands family do not own or control them with blackmail of income or resources. The extended family are told by older folks to make this new bride feel bad for having her own. Haters haters in every in-laws families.
Continuous comments on personal matters are not funny and can build up into something negative. It can be manipulative and toxic, if the comments feel uncomfortable then probably they’re snide. You should draw boundaries!

Next time a child makes a comment about your money, use it as an opportunity to indirectly (and jokingly) respond to the adults comments and put them in their place

Money is personal anyway, whether its alot or a little, the family should have no say in this, and mind their own business. Next time in a funny way, question their money, lets see how they react when the tables have turned.
I think she does have a lot of money and sounds like she saves it, not spending it on materialistic objects….only spending it when she travels or goes on adventures with her family Whereas her family spends money on bullshit stuff and gets annoyed when she has more funds than them while the travel
When she has kids, those will be the battles she’ll not be able to compromise on. This issue? Just turn it back on them, as suggested but in a playful way.

Yeah I don’t think this in law situation is normal. it’s a really classless and rude thing to comment on how much money someone makes, to the extent that children are commenting on it too. I’m sure this woman worked hard to get her job and deserves every penny she makes. That’s no one else’s business!
