Glad you are happy with the tuning now. We made changes based on the data taken at Monkeyworks and sent them a total of 2 updated tunes to get it where it is at. Fueling from 2200-3k was off by less than 3% of "ideal". And that 3% is subjective to temp, humidity, and sensor deviation between the 2 dynos. HP and TQ will vary from dyno to dyno as well. We typically see about 109hp and 130 tq in house here on your same setup in a 70-80 degree lower humidity environment. The only real change we made was increasing the throttle response overall to where you wanted it to be which could have been done remotely without you taking it anywhere else. If you need any more changes please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly and we can do whatever you need. Appreciate the shout out for the work!

To be clear, The tune was actually tweaked remotely by RVS Performance with Monkey Works making the changes. ALso the previous tuned Stage 2 dyno'd out at 90hp and 113.6 ft lbs of torque
@joevsfood
@joevsfood 3 года назад
Just to confirm, a TS111 with the Indian cam (and intake/exhaust) was 90 hp and 113.6 ft lbs or torque? Just making sure cause this is where I am at now on a 2020 chief darkhorse and have yet to find a good dyno shop in East Texas.
@TwoIndians

joseph preston yeah, that sounds correct...With one caveat. That was a pull on a mobile dyno at a bike night and from what I hear it’s pretty common for those guys to put out suppressed numbers to sell tunes. (Your tune sucks, I can make it better). But yes that’s the number I pulled. I’d also done a pull at another bike event and their number was so ridiculous it’s not even worth mentioning. The guy that tuned the bike originally told me I was getting 94/115 but “his printer was broken” so he couldn’t give me any proof. Don’t get me started on this subject, LOL, I’ve never been so disappointed with a group “professionals”, it’s really a tragic comedy.

Your little show is very cool. I’m going to buy a 2022 Springfield or the dark Horse Springfield but I like the Two-tone colors off basic Springfield. Do think there’s a big difference in engine power or do you think I would be happy with the stock engine power of the regular Springfield. I’m a newer ride just moving up from my smaller Harley 750. I hope I’m as happy with the Springfield as much as you are. Do you recommend any upgrades to do to the bike? I don’t want to void warranty just want to longer rides with my buddies without feeling like my backs going to break in half. Thanks and keep up the good work 👍
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 2 года назад
My recommendation would be to get the DH because you get the bigger 116 motor and you can upgrade that later if you want. Most people upgrade the exhaust first for better sound and a little more power. It’s not too much power, you’ll be fine. It’ll have better resale value that way too. My sense is the smaller 111 engine will go away in the next couple years. Europe only has the 116 available now.

There are downsides to the 121 which is why I stuck with a 116. They’re know for a lot of heat for one. The other is Lloydz insistence on a long warm up period, at least two minutes. I don’t think it’s practical for every day riding TBH.

great Video again! Had recently contact will LIoydz, asking for the 558 cam and what about changing the springs, because my bike is from 2016. For engines older than 2019 they recommend always changing the springs when you wanna upgrade the cams, even the original stage 2 ones. Means, the engine has to be taken out anyway and so I am wondering why not doing an upgrade to 116 or even 121 from Lloydz if the engine is out anyway. I can see how you like it! What about the smoothness, still smooth cruising possible if you turn the throttle carefully? Regards, Björn
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 3 года назад
if you think you might, at some point in the future, do a 116 kit, then spending money on cams now is wasted. If you have the cash you might as well just do the 116. Thats my honest opinion having done both. Besides it comes with springs!

I want a 2022 Springfield and I’m not much into speed but I want a reliable engine with enough power for short and long rides. Is the 111 thunder stroke engine sufficient for my needs? Of course I need power to pass on Freeway but kinda want to keep everything stock. FWI I drive the fast lane and don’t like to slow people down so maybe 80 average with no traffic.? Thanks for listening too my dumb Questions but I’m a beginner driver that wants to mice up too something bigger and more comfortable so I can go on long
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 2 года назад
Hey Eddie, the 111 would 100% be fine for you most likely. I will tell you that since the 116 is now standard on all the Dark Horse models you would probably appreciate the extra power available there, especially if you’re doing the long distance rides. It just gives you so much power reserves not to go fast and haul ass but to pass, maneuver and feel more confident that you can stay out of the way (as you put it) if you’re going to stick with the 111 I highly recommend getting the stage 2 cams installed because it gives you nearly the same power as a stock 116. Either way, you will be so happy on one of these larger bikes and the storage gives you even more convenience to boot. Happy riding and be safe!

@bloodymarvelous4790
@bloodymarvelous4790 3 года назад
12:14 If it starts off slow, your exhaust probably doesn't produce enough back pressure. That means there's a big dip in torque in the low revs (below 3500). If you have dB killers or if you've removed your baffles, put them (back) in, and the roll-on performance will improve noticeably. A Stage II 116" should be able to provide awesome torque from the get go. You shouldn't need to go full throttle and then wait until you hit 3000~3500 RPM before the bike starts to really accelerate.
@AB-80X
@AB-80X Год назад
I'm running stage 2 on my '22 116 and have a switchable exhaust. I had the bike tuned locally. Open or closed, I get awesome bottom end torque. There's more to it than the back pressure. I've had many engines on dynos, V-Twins and V8's. Done testing with various exhaust setups. Header length matter, and so does collector extensions, but I have never found an exhaust with a higher back pressure to do anything but rob power from off idle to top rpm.

Firstly, a HUGE !!! shout out to Joe Carr, head of the Sales Team at Heritage Indian in Rogers, an absolutely top bloke & truly one of natures Gentlemen !!!! Who has looked after me like a silkworm throughout the whole daunting process of purchasing an Indian Chief sight unseen from the other side of the planet & realising one of my lifelong dreams...The reason for my post is that I have ordered the 116 Kit for my baby which I am having installed & hopefully tuned (Properly) before I drive up from Coffs Harbour in NSW to pick her up... The question I have for all you 'Indian Gurus' out there on the Interweb, is, why does the 116 Kit for my Bike, a 2015 Indian Chief Classic, not appear to have a set of heads with it...? & therefore can I expect the same level of power increases as the 116 Kits for the later model bikes..? And for anyone wondering why I went for a 2015 Chief instead of a new bike with a 116 from factory is because I specifically wanted the Indian Red/Thunder Black paint scheme with Black leather saddle & it only came out on the 2015 Chief Classic.... I did actually offer to pay a $10,000 USD non refundable deposit, if the factory would paint me a new bike the colours I wanted & was told basically "Piss off we are not a Custom Bike Shop..." hence the beginning of my global search for a an extremely low Mile 2015 Chief Classic..... any advice or answers on my question about the 116 Kit would be greatly appreciated, Love the videos guys !!!! keep up the good work !!!! No doubt, check with Ryan at RVS performance when you’re ready for a tune. Def worth it.

I have to check out the Indians up close one of these days. I've been thinking about getting a Vtwin. I ride a BMW now, I'd keep it if I got something else, had a couple vulcans before the beemer. Harelys are very nice too, but it seems they require a lot of mods to get it right. Indian seems to be a little more complete.

@James L believe me, Indians are awesome and you cannot avoid being addicted to them :-)! Bought my Springfield in 2016, still love it, traded in for that bike my one year old brand new BMW K 1600 GT ! and my older Valkyrie F6C from 1997. Big Loss, but it was worth it!....And Indians or Harleys are here in Germany more expensive than in the USA. Paid 27.000 € for the Springfield!
@nokoolaid
@nokoolaid 3 года назад
@@bjornaltmann8184 I would keep my 200 R1200RT. There's nothing wrong with it and it's paid for. The K bike is a monster, but the valve service is very expensive. I can do all the maintenance on my RT, but wouldn't feel comfortable with the valve clearane on the k bike. Thing is, my mentality is that if I have modify a bike too much to make it right, I got the wrong bike.
@bjornaltmann8184
@bjornaltmann8184 3 года назад
@@nokoolaid understandable mentality and I cannot say you are wrong, because you are absolutely right! The unlogical thing riding an American cruiser is: You want to modify it and creating it individually yours! :-)......And that is saying someone from Germany :-).....For Harley it seems you have to invest even more than for an Indian, out of the box already awesome bikes, that's my opinion

Riding in the rain blows! It would be helpful if when you report tech info you would give us a summary of your mods or what was done. When watching on TV you can't see text notes or even comment. You are in circulation but it doesn't sequence your videos that come up.
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 3 года назад
Yeah that’s the downside to watching on TV, you can’t easily scroll through and see all the other videos on a certain topic. That’s why people wait til they get to work LOL. Buddy if I put all my mods in every video, they’d all be 40 minute videos haha. Thanks for watching though! Let me know if you have a specific question. 👍👍

Kills me how people think that these bike shops can just drop everyone else's bikes and jump on their's. Most bike shops have more work than they can handle.
@TwoIndians

So that was last year and I waited 4 weeks for my “appointment” and he had the bike for three days. He said he’d be able to do it the same day. My point was, if he can’t do it, just tell me. I gave him credit for sticking it out and getting it done though. We’re all busy, same for our business, but I don’t make commitments and then shrug it off. The guy knew I was driving over an hour each way to get it to him so it’s just common courtesy between human beings.

By the way, one of the busiest bike shops in town, #SouthernCycles, is run by professionals that care about the customer and they exceed my expectations every single time. They are better at time management and communicating expectations which is the most important thing. Not so at Monkey Works.

That whole "it's our property" BS. Well, I assume you paid for the canned tune. So I would argue that it's now your property. Also, I love Indian bikes. I do. In many ways they are superior to HD. But until the aftermarket and Indian get the engine performance on par, they will be in a sales pickle. We built my '15 Road Glide Twin Cam to 113". It makes 135 lb/ft and 126 hp at the rear tire. No dick measuring here. But the Thunderstroke platform remains limited in output potential, I think mainly due to the heads.
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 3 года назад
There are new highs flow heads from Indian and there are a few aftermarket options for that now too. Honestly I’m not racing so if someone can beat me by .7 seconds on an eighth mile I’m ok with that. My bike runs great and the power is all I need (so far 😜) The big bore options keep getting bigger for both brands but when you consider Indian ran circles around the HD competitors at Laguna Seca I’d say they’re doing ok. Yes, water cooled vs air but whatever. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comments! 💪✌️
