Saab and related DIY videos. Just a walk around of my 2001 Laser Red Viggen. It is one of 29 LR Viggen 3 doors for 2001. It is in near perfect condition. I show it off a little in this video.
I too am blessed with a 2001 LR Viggen. Interior is almost perfect, Black, new headliner, I am working on the Light Headliner console that was broken in 4 pieces when removed. Exterior clear-coat issues on bumpers and roof. Repainted the spoiler, Hate the set nuts in the spoiler. Good to see another Viggen in Al Tom Jansen, Daphne, Al. “ Mobile” 137,xxx miles.semi daily driver.
Yeah, color red and oxidation is a PITA, I will have mine repainted after taking care of the little quirks. As is, right now it is a head turner but I I want to take it to show car standard.
@@prank-o-mat well, I must have the rarest of them all. I have the full tan interior. I did replace the headliner to a matching tan and the dash to a wood trim instead of the grey plate. Looks much better to match the interior. Of course, I also did my own personal upgrades from suspension, exhaust, larger turbo ect. Just need to repaint it since Im starting to see some paint fades in some spots.
@@louistescum2018 Yeah dude that's rare AF. I'm fine with the LR 5dr charcoal and I never liked the red/tan combo in the C900 but for some reason on the Viggen it's pretty damn smart. I think 34 LR 5 door in the US... I love not seeing myself at every corner. Even my BMW is so old I know I only see two other ones like it around me, ever.
@@KingCast65 its getting lonely on the road have not seen a viggen on the road in years. Im fortunate to have a convertible also. Even more rare is the E24 Euro versiion I got. Lots of resto mods to keep me busy. I need the wining lottery ticket. 😆
@@louistescum2018 That's odd... I see a Viggen almost every day. Oh, wait. That's my buddy's car who bought one as soon as I got mine. Keep on trucking Buddy! Emotionally the only BMW I would put clearly above a Viggen or nice C900T is the tii.... of which I no longer have and might not ever have again. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hin5Yx4rmW8.html We'll see. I just can't justify paying that kind of money even if I had it. Rather do a nice regular '02 with mild mods.
very nice walkthrough. you got a great deal, love it when previous owners take care of the car and put in lots of mods that you would have, so it saves you money and time! although the blue is my favorite (and just blue cars in general i tend to own/like), the yellow and red viggens are super nice! i stumbled up and ended up buying a silver 5D, which isn't my first choice, but you have to start somewhere! :)
Lookin' mah-vulous! Drive carefully & Saab on....... Viggen + Laser red = "A very rare gem" .... I'm restoring a "super rare" 2001 Laser red 4-door Viggen in Cleveland. I Bought it from a very nice couple in Toledo, Ohio who wanted a SAAB-lover to take it off their hands and restore it, and get her back on the road! I believe that there were ONLY 10-15 Laser red 4-door Viggens ever produced for the USA in 2001 (60-65 Total Viggen units in Laser red (includes...convertible+3-door+4-door)...The 4-door being the rarest of all...The Laser Red colored Viggens were only produced for the USA market, and i think, Only ONE Red Viggen went to Canada. Correct me if i am wrong.....All in all, it's probably one of the rarest cars out there! Woohoo! SAAB-ON!
I see you are SAAB Alabama. Where are you located? I am in Daphne / Mobile. 2001 stock LR. I have some clear coat issues on Roof and Bumpers. Interior very nice. Headliner replaced. Had to epoxy the headliner console as it was 3 pieces from removal. Tom.
Super! I'm getting one of the Laser 5dr cars next week in Seattle to go with my BMW 535is. GF has an 850T Wagon. I'll be third owner in Seattle, no salt 120K miles. It will not be modded except for VRK and sway bar and maybe a downpipe to open it up a bit if that doesn't wreck the tune. Haha I had an '89 SPG too 20 years ago love 'em.
@@saabmagicman2588 Please tell me you kept the SPG. I'm 58 and the time is running fast gotta' get in what I can brother Peace be unto you! BTW I had an '03 9^3 SE Convertible a few years ago and they put the CF dash on those to my eye it's nicer than the Viggen dash.
Nice Viggen You mentioned 303 Protectant What product do you use to clean them though? How long have you been doing this (on this car or others) and what the results like long term? (if you’ve been doing it on other cars too)
Any dilute general purpose cleaner will do. I use Griot’s Odor Neutralizing Leather cleaner. I never, ever use conditioners or moisturizers because they eventually do more harm than good to the leather. 303 is a UV protectant.
