Take your car in to ford and tell them to re-assemble your dash to fix that problem also to fix your engine tick throw (2) ceratec in it during an oil change it will fix the problem for the 2k rattle I don’t even know what to do. I have the 2k rattle and the engine tick on my 2018 GT ceratec fixed the problem other then that good luck man

Mine has it 2019 15k miles in fbo e85 and it runs great no issues No car is perfect most mustangs tend to rattle from interior dont get me wrong the rattling is annoying lol

I had a 2014 mustang manual with the v6, it had 10,000 miles on it sold it thinking of buying a new 2019/ 2020 gt mustang glad I didn’t to many people are having the same problems it has put me off mustangs completely

Michael Tabanao I did think of this a doge challenger Rt/ scat pack with the manual transmission, but I didn’t do it because muscle cars lose so much in depreciation.

Have not noticed these problems on my 2019 GT PP1 w/2800 miles. Hope that engine ticks/other noises are not being overblown. These cars are very enjoyable to drive. Revert to OEM clutch spring ... really!!! Steeda spring is not as strong as OEM and gives you a lot more feel at the bite point.

My 2018 GT has the tick also but I’m FBO and E85 so I can’t do a buy back 😂 if the engine goes then gives me a reason to get the engine built

I was about to get a 2019 or 2020 Mustang GT PP2....I'm scared right now. I keep hearing horror story after horror story. Engine ticking, MT82 transmission issues. I think I'm gonna wait for the Mach 1, GT 350, or wide body scat pack. The engine tick is unacceptable in any instance because Ford has been building Mustang engines since 1964..I hear people saying stop complaining and live with the tick after people are paying 50K for Mustangs. They need to shut the hell up and stop making excuses for Ford.

I bought a left over 2018 Base GT with the 10 speed and have no issues with engine noise or interior rattle. I changed the oil myself as soon as I got it home to Mobil 1 Euro 0W40 and also put the LMR air conditioner belt idler pulley kit made by Ford on it. The front engine plate is machined to accept the idler pulley system instead of the cheap stretchy belt that comes from the factory. The stretchy belt can make some strange engine noises. The 5.0 F150 comes with the idler system and I don't understand why ford did not do the same on the GT. My engine bay actually is quieter with the idler pulley. I did these two things to try to preempt any engine noise and so far so good. I hope you get your situation corrected. Good luck.

My 2016 gt has the 5.0 bbq tick right after a oil change and will tick for about 800 miles on 5w-30 after a oil change. And on 5w-20 the tick will go away around 500 miles. Don’t know why but that’s how my 5.0 is and a lot others have the same thing as mine from 2011-2020. But it won’t tick at all after those break in miles after a oil change but once I dump it and put fresh oil in it ticks like a mother. But mine has been ticking for 40k miles but it keeps on going and I drive the absolute shit out of this car. I just drive it and enjoy it. The only issue I’ve had is with the driver side valve cover coming loose which I didn’t know was a issue until I looked it up and read how many others had the same issue with the coyotes. Not being tighten down enough from the factory.

I've heard my 2019 GT PP1 tick every so often seemingly when it is cold. It's annoying, but I don't think that is much to worry about. I did have to get my drivers side door adjusted as the door and the edge that runs along the car were misaligned.

I own a 18’ 5.0, the ticking is there but usually hear more often when it’s cold. Why not just do your oil change instead of the dealership, I kept getting screwed them putting less than 10qt and supposedly synthetic. Just and FYI. The rattling inside the interior I don’t hear it much cause of my exhaust. But I had that interior rattling sound on my 15” & 18” ecoboost.

Ford knows there is an issue. I had a 2018 PP1 car with a tick that started at 900 miles. Car was purchased 3/2018. Bore scope confirmed cylinder wall scoring in 1,3, &4. Ford replaced the engine. The engine replacement devalued the car $8500 in addition to depreciation. It was flagged on Carfax for an engine replacement. I wasn’t having any of that BS. Applied for a buyback, had a check in my hands two weeks later. Car was returned to the dealer 2/1/2018.

It’s insane ford hasn’t addressed the motor tick also I wouldn’t be to quick to thank the dealership just yet. However it’s a good thing your getting the tick documented now.

the tick is a consequence of direct injection. almost all cars with direct injection have it, doesn’t hurt the motor

So on the oil thing. Ford suggests the lighter weight oil to make the fuel mileage look better from a Gov.Co. regulation standpoint. The car should definitely run better with a heavier weight oil.

Mustangs are built cheaply. I sell them and spend every day with them. I love Mustangs and have owned three, but I just traded my last one in for a Challenger. I honestly dreamed of having your exact car, but they're just so cheaply made that I couldn't do it. For an American car, an awful lot of it is made everywhere except here. I know that's the norm for all manufacturers, but Ford is cutting costs in some questionable areas. Still love your car. Twister Orange is my favorite orange from Ford, too. Shame it was built with more emphasis on cutting costs.

Mustangs and Challengers break down because people are dumbasses. My happiest customers are Mustang owners, and I likewise love them. But the interiors are shabby, and the MT-82 transmissions are well-documented with issues. But my Challenger isn't perfect, either. And at the end of the day, it is still a Chrysler. I would take Ford over Chrysler any day. I chose the Challenger this time around so that I could have something different, and because I am around Ford's shabby interiors every day and wanted to be in something else. I wholly expect my Challenger to last a long time, simply because I don't mistreat it.

Yes, I have a 2012 GT 30,000 miles, driver side A pillar sometimes has a vibration sound, very annoying, usually just poke with finger ,it stops.

Bro take it from experience, I had a 16 it had it for 56k miles and the car ran absolutely bad ass never and issue Now I have a 19 had it when it was stock, I went FBO and at 3K miles it still had it but never a real issue, now I have a whipple on it 6k miles and runs absolutely bad ass and it completely went away with boost. Thrust me it’s just a normal coyote thing doesn’t really affect anything

I have a 2020 mustang gt and have engine ticks here and there. It doesn’t really bother me but most coyote motors have engine ticks so idrc. You should only be worrying if the motor is knocking obnoxiously

My 2019 PP2 is fine so far, I didn't even do a completely "Baby" break in for 1000 miles. No "ticks" so far and Ive done all the tricks to make sure. Other people have borescoped their cars with the tick and they were fine IE Rush Shift. Others have run back to back track passes with the tick and had zero issues. Only real issue I see here is the interior rattle. Your car has a warranty though right? Send it.

I'll never buy another Ford product again. I had a '15 S550 and I had so many issues it was almost laughable. Finally at 30k miles one of the cams phased and engine was destroyed. Ford refused to cover it. I bought an '18 Camaro SS 1LE and it's lightyears better in every aspect quality and performance wise. I'll always like Mustangs, but I'll never give Ford my $$$ again. I picked up a roll of thin speaker gasket tape and disassembled parts of the dash to apply the tape in a few strategic area's, my gauge cluster was driving me insane in cold weather. The trunk latch on the lid has a tiny bit of adjustment to it, loosen, wiggle, reseat, tighten and see if the panel centers up. Engine tick worries depend on if the tick goes away after the engine is fully up to temp, if it goes away dont worry about it, if it is constant no matter how long you drive the car then definitely raise some concerns.

I have a 2018 mt82 and no trans problems but engine seems to make similar noise to yours on cold start only but goes away not even a minute later. Most likely normal operation. However if it happens once warm could be a problem.

Should have built her in Australia...I'm joking of course but I own a 2008 FG Ford Falcon XR6 that even now does not have a single squeak, rattle anywhere other than a serpentine belt squeak on the odd day here and there ...Just the same this a beautiful Mustang and I hope it works out great for you ...Love the Mustang and the Right Hand drive ones are selling great here in Australia...See lots on the road ...

As for the engine tick, check a guy named David Van Voris as he was running 8 second quarter mile times and he had a bad cold start engine tick. When they pulled the engine apart, the engine was in good shape, even after a bad tick. I think the tick isn’t the end of the engine.

Damn, in Texas right now they have the 2019's for 0% for 84 mos. The 2020's for 72 mos @0%. I noticed from other vids the interior looked cheap and plasticky. ALWAYS wanted a GT and was READY to pull the trigger but really just not worth the risk. Dodge Challenger Scat Pack is looking better and better....

Dodge is less reliable than ford in terms of long term ownership, it’s basically a Chrysler and they make POS cars lol but yea nowadays is whatever is cheaper to make and screw over the customer

I had a 2014 Mustang GT track pack, then a 2015 Mustang GT PP. This was before the engine issues of the recent 5.0's. I had interior rattles, driveshaft vibration, rear brake squeak, etc. I traded for a 2017 Camaro SS 6 speed. Drove it 3 years and 45,000 miles and two HPDE events. That car was absolutely awesome to daily. It required a new engine oil cooler, oil pan gasket, and rear differential. I can deal with repairs that fix the car, so I just bought a 2020 Camaro SS 1LE and couldn't be happier. I know what to expect. The Mustang issues they could not fix.

Mine used to tick before but now its gone only the 2k rattle but goes away when car is fully warmed up.my tick comes back only after oil changes but not to much and it will go away.i have 15k miles now in the car.so fat so good.

Caffeinated Motors sorry about your car bro.last time i thought there was something wrong in my car because i’m 2 quarts low of oil.then i found out that freaking dealer put only 8 quarts instead of 10.i add 2 quarts since then and checking my oil regularly and everything is good.no oil consumption.

You're just beating a dead horse. Cameros,Challengers and Mustangs are cheaply made. I had a2018 GT 5.0. Sold the d@mn piece of _h_t. A lot of people have purchased these 3 brands of cars and then go through the cr@p dealerships and the Mfg's put you through. FORD doesn't care about you and your car. They only care about their stockholders and dividends paid out each quarter. I'm sure you knew all of the issues before buying your car. Now, deal with it.

I run thicker oil in all my cars. I prefer engine protection over the minimal MPG gain that EPA pressures manufactures to meet. Especially in sunny California, you don't need to run that thin oil. And even more so in a performance car that gets driven harder than your typical sedan.

Ahhh... The dreaded typewriter tick, I own a 2020GT and so far no engine noises, mine seems to be one of the very few that was assembled good and tight, just under1000kms on it so far, we'll see what the next thousand k's bring. Ceratec liquid moly fixes the engine it or at least makes it go away it worked on my 2018 for the 2k rattle I don’t know it’s annoying so I feel for you. I wish I could help other then that.

So I just wanted to comment about the tick, and the 5W-30 oil. A) what might cause the tick? well there is two theory’s I seen going around one is piston slap and the second one not mentioned much about is oil cavitation. I personally think it might be oil cavitation dude to 5W-30 being the fix and people putting an additive to the 5W-20 oil recommended from the factory. B)you saying that you don’t want to run 5W-30 because it’s not factory recommended is quite understand. BUT in the owners manual 5W-30 is mentioned for track use which is why a lot of people recommended it. So technically speaking 5W-30 is recommended from factory. C) why it happens after the first oil change? Well I have a hunch but I haven’t really given it much thought but from the factory it might have slightly more than the recommended 10 quarts but that’s a hunch and not proven. Otherwise great videos! watching this makes me look forward to getting my own later this year :)

My 2019 Bullitt was built perfect not a single flaw or issue. MT82 is butter smooth, zero panel gaps and definitely no engine tick.

Don't worry about the rattles. Had a 95 Camaro Z28 w werid sounds and had a big gap on the trunk too. It was fun to drive and annoyed others. I got it in my 20s and traded it in for a minivan.

I've been considering Mustang GT, Camaro SS, Golf R, Golf GTI or Jetta GLI. Manuals in any of them. And as a Ford brand driver, I've become more and more disgusted at Ford's lack of fit/finish/quality issues in their products. JUST GET ON TOP OF IT ALREADY!! Otherwise, I'm moving over to another brand. For a north of $40 grand car, it's disgusting and unacceptable. And it's literally just about the last "car" Ford is making anymore.

I think the overall packaging is tough. Domestics prioritize performance and have to sacrifice on the fit/finish. A lot of imports emphasize refinement, and then have to sacrifice a bit on performance. The Camaro did a little better with fit/finish (even though there's still a ton of hard plastic in the interior), but it drove up the price, so sales were destroyed by the Mustang.

@@PuRpL3DrAnKinMYsippy I've traditionally been one to ignore GM products. The buy-back stuff in the recession soured my opinion of the brand even more than it already was. But in recent years I cannot deny it's a better machine. They used Tremec manauls. They offered magnetorheological dampers first. They ran better brakes first. Their engines despite the bigger displacement and stubborn tradition of push-rods make fatter torque at legal speeds. Their chassis is lighter, better built (Alpha chassis). Their steering feel is better. One thing I do not like is the somewhat less exciting interior and the dungeon-like environment it is with the tall belt-lines. Other than that, Camaro was the better car. Arguably overall, still the better car in a apples-to-apples trim comparison.

I bought a 2020 manual in February and I noticed I have a tick, my interior rattles, and I’ve had lock out problems with reverse in the past and I sometimes don’t like how it goes into first gear like I feel like I have to force it to go through a gate and I just don’t like it. I also only have 1700 miles

I had a 05 f350 it would free rev up to 4000 rpms between the first to second gear shift and would make a bad slam into second about once a day I took it back to dealer and they told me they couldn't replicate it and operated as designed !!!! I said WTF !!! after 3 trys to get it straightened out I told them forget it and traded for a new ram 3500 Cummins and have had great success with them. just my personal experience.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with all that. The rear valance panel gap can be adjust. As for the rattles, I own an 18 gt and 19 gt... no rattles. The passenger side rattle could be that unbuckled seat belt.

i watched your video! i dont think the rattle is an issue, in fact rush shift proved it wasn’t....i believe the tick is definitely damaging the engine though, i will try ceratec eventually but currently ford is seeing what they can do for me

Thats the ticket, run thicker oil so the piston skirts dont hit the cylinder walls.....50k is to much to pay for engine cylinder to piston clearances. America has been building v8 engines for how long?

My 2017 GT has lots of rattles, spot on. Dealership slapped silicone all over the rear body panel over the trunk. Barely helped. Ford simply doesn't insulate the body of the Mustang.

That ticking? Could it be a heat shield? If it is it might just need adjusting or could be normal...annoying but could be nothing to worry about. When you switch off do you get the engine tick while it cools down

Thankfully my mt82 seems fine so far but then again I'm not hauling on the gears like I've done on my past street builds. Really hope your issue has been fully resolved and you'll remain a ford customer 👍👍

I can hardly hear it. I owned a 95 Camaro Z28 and it made a noise if I let the gas off too quickly. They said it's normal and I drove it for 9 years.

Bummer....this is why I bought a 2017GT last spring. Really want a 10r80 car, but didn’t want to deal with the issues. I do have that dash rattle in colder weather. Drives me crazy...need to figure that one out.

Not every car is going to come off the line perfect. Every manufacturer will let some through with problems. It's not the car brand as a whole, it's just one of those things.

Hey there bro, I have a 2020 mustang gt and when I start it up regardless cold or not there’s like a clunky noise and it loses power for 1-2 seconds. The dealer said it’s normal which is not the case. Do you know what it might be I’m guessing ha starter. Can I dm you the noise?

Looking at getting 1 of these but probably not very soon, going for the automatic though. Just throwing this out but have you tried using higher octane gasoline? Bikes seem to have a tick if your octane is too low.

I Baked It I had a 2017 ecoboost (lease) that worked perfectly fine no issues. I had a 2018 that got bought back because it had the tick, and i went for a 2020 thinking that the issues would be resolved by the 2020 model year

Hey there bro I have a 2020 mustang gt with only 800 miles on it. I have this clunky metal hitting noise whenever I start the car regardless if it is cold start or not. I car loses exhaust/ power for a few seconds. I think it may be the starter any idea. I went to the dealer and they said it’s normal which I know it is not. Can I dm you the noise?

Not to sound bad but how much research did you do on the car, because ford has had problems with this transmission since 2015 or before, I for one am sorry your going through what your going through but it has helped me a lot, I’m going to wait until 2021 to get my 5.0, Car and Driver said ford has redesigned the manual transmission, so I’m hoping for something better in 2021. Thank You for sharing wish you all the best. ( ps) give the car back and get a 2021 maybe.

If the tick were a problem with production tolerances in 20% of the engines and it could not be proved that it caused any catastrophic failure within warranty, I would not expect Ford to even address the issue publicly. Bad press. You are a young guy - look up "Ford Pinto"... Loved my Foxbody 1982 5.0 GT HO.

i had a 2018 that was bought back for the tick (which ended up being not even a real problem because my 2020 has it) and it literally 0 issues with the interior and build quality, the 2018's were just built better

Man that sucks screwed twice. I was in the market for a GT because i was a mustang fanboy throughout most of college. But at the end of the day after all this i just went and got a gen 6 camaro. Other than a few interior rattles and my co worker reversing into it, it has been a great car and im damn glad i jumped ship. Even got a proper tremic manual other than the mt 82 crap they shoved in the mustang. Just bail out while you can and go another route no shame in it.

honestly i wouldnt worry about it, my 2018 and 2020 had it, and my 2020 ticks till this day and no issues have come up, i even got a borescope and found no damage

My 2012 GT never ticked, its got 100,000 miles. I beleive it is caused by the Plasma lined cylinders in the newer 5.0 motor. They tortured tested the 2011 to 2013 motors before production

I'm really surprised by some of this stuff man, especially on a 2020.... I mean you have video evidence of everything, you're not just talking... the video is right here. My '18 GT and previous '16 EB all had a little bit of a rattle especially in the center stack on really rough pavement and long bridges with weird pavement. This is obviously worse than that. My GT has about 9,000 miles and so far I can't hear a tick... if there is one, it's nothing like yours.... "so far". I know I'm going to jinx myself with this post... keep us updated. This really isn't really fun, I'm sure you wanted this car to work out... you bought it for a reason......... we'll see what happens.

2019 pp1 premium has 5k and no tick no rattles. First, run premium gas and full synthetic oil, tick will be gone. 5w20 works fine unless you are dogging it.

Eventual repairs? You mean the repairs covered under warranty? I put a fat down payment from saving up for a while and my dad matched what I put down to help. My loan is 60 months at 4.8% and I plan to refinance once i build more credit history

Had a 2017 GT that had the engine tick and bad panel gap in places. Traded it in a few months ago. I'll buy another Mustang when Ford fixes these engine/quality issues. Good luck to you!

Fingers crossed that Ford will fix the problems... The gaps are a general problem for Ford here in Germany as well... Saw huge different gaps yesterday at the dealership at a 2020 Mustang Convertible with the 55‘ package 👎🏽 Maybe I should buy a german car...🙄

My 2020 eco has dash rattle by my turbo and oil pressure gauges, just like you. Took it to the dealer was told they adjusted a clip drove off the parking lot still rattling. Gave up and went home. Probably gonna pull the trim off myself

Tons of issues with new Mustangs on RU-vid. My 15 GT stock engine completely blew at 30K miles. Bought a 16 SS and couldn't be happier. Sell it back before it's too late!!

Good luck man unless ford fixes the gen 3 motors I will not own another one. To many issues but brand loyal mustangs guys will call you crazy. They will make you out To be a liar or being a asshole. I have all my proof when my 18 blew up and was knocking. I have all my paper work when my 10r80 burned clutches and valve body failed. I also have my buy back papers that prove my problems but these brand loyal guys know it all. Send it to the dealer man your absolutely right you should be worried. Inside my motor was a joke pistons eating the cylinder walls. Good upload good luck.

They fixed it and told me it was a loose bolt or something. Mine got really bad...so bad that I would hear it when my car was in idle. Does your 2020 have other rattles too? I swear the 2020's are built really terribly because my 2017 ecoboost and 2018 GT had no issues but my 2020 has tons of quality issues
