We’ve been together for 15 years, not married, have one child together. He always asks for money. He pays me back but I never get anything extra, no kind of financial help, no dates no trips nothing like that from his part. He borrows gas money and almost every week.

This is such a tough situation to be in. One of the things we did at the very beginning of our relationship was to decide what our boundaries were when it comes to money. We also discussed what we were willing to accept and what wouldn't be acceptable in order to protect ourselves.
i came here right after i broke up with my boyfriend. not only does he borrow money from me but also asked for money from MY friends, 3 of them. I feel embarassed especially since he doesnt even have a close friendship with them and he told them to keep it a secret from me. good riddance.
I do give it but yesterday was a complete red flag and I'm confused. He called me up and told me the is a buyer for his car but the car needs gas, that I should send him $20. I told him I don't have money and the only money I had is my school fees to pay in a week, he said I should send him the money that he'll pay back. I said no and he got mad and ended the call while I was talking to him
That was all the info you needed. These boyfriends are primarily about your money. Get to know them by not giving it to them. If they are not genuine, you will know because they'll leave you thereafter.

Exactly. I was going today to pay his bail out of prison from my very limited saving, it is an emergency not?? But his friend paid before me. Good so I can keep my money. Nope, now he is asking me to give his friend half of it.. because he promised half of it back, but he doesn'thave any money. But, now is not an emergency anymore it is just fixing his relationship with his friend. What's that got to do with me???
My advice is that you avoid loaning money to a loved one, since you'd be very likely to lose both your money and your love. Whatever you hand in to your partner, consider it a gift. Except if your partner insists in signing a contract, in order to pay less taxes.
@@wealthwithlove For these people, I would advise the following: Whatever you hand in to your partner, present it as a loan. But, *in your mind* , consider it a gift. If the loan is returned, everything is fine. If the loan is not returned, everything is fine too, but use it as your reason for not lending more money to that person. Don't get sour. Just refuse to lend more money until the initial loan is paid back.
I was in a position to ask my partner for $2500 dollars to fix my car he said no, which made me stronger and started my financial journey. When the table was turned, he couldn't handle it. We broke up afterward.
This is a good topic the way I see it is if your new to the relationship be prepared to lose the money if this person intentions aren't to give it back to you.some people don't know how to give it back

I've paid for his drivers licence and some other stuff so he could get a better job. Tried starting a business for him so he can get out of my pocket. However it never stops. Every single month there is something. I can't even get to my own things and he just cannot step up. Im just so tired and ive decided to let go. The gifts only go one way because she always claims that she’s broke. She now has a house that she purchased three years ago where my son has nothing. Why would this girl ever marry him if he’s already doing all the things a husband would do with marriage? He’s more like a father than a husband how do I get through to my son that he’s being a fool?
It’s definitely not an easy situation as it’s their relationship. Just being there for your son and continuously knowing he has your support is all you can do.

Omg I am praying in the name of Jesus Christ that God will give him s supernatural power to break that relationship. If it was their house together that would be good. I have set boundaries with a guy I’m dating and he wants me to support him financially and I did some sometimes but now I told him I can’t constantly do that due to me being a university student and things are not working out for me at the moment. And I think your son is aware of the situation but he is scared of how to have this tough conversation with her. Especially them been in 8 years of relationship is too much. Probably he is saying now that is too late might as well just continue to support her.

Yes, I am in a new relationship, and the guy asked for $100 at first. I sent him my boundary, which is why I don't, and then after that, he asked again, this time $200 for his car payment I told him I never drove your car I never asked for a ride. I don't have a vehicle at all. So why would he even ask me for it. Him and his cousin live together he can ask him. I don't know him well enough at all it's been a month since we been together. Even if I did know him well enough, I am not giving out cash.
