I’ve never cried so hard. I struggle with acceptance every day. My parents were teenagers that were forced into marriage because of the pregnancy and it got super ugly and abusive at the end. It took me so long to unlearn that deep guilt and feelings of being a burden and inconvenience. I’m forcing myself to grieve that childhood I always wanted. This helped me so much. Love you

Rewatching this again because for the last 4 months this has been one of the biggest themes ive thought about. Thank you for being so open with the world. It genuinely has helped me so much. I appreciate you Charlotte

You hit it on the head: The mind does things to protect itself. Usually the pathways of least resistance and pain are the defaults. Therapy, EMDR, etc, bring much joy and enlightening new paths and learned energies. The only thing I can offer you about family, and maybe it’s not true for you, my family loves me no matter what. Pain and sadness from loss never go away, you just learn how to deal with it. I love your solo pods. This was a brave video so thank You for sharing. ❤

Look, I get it. It’s fucked up to move on with your life and accept that your parents are useless and have only caused hurt instead of love, especially at such a young age, when it is so hard to survive and support yourself financially in this country that doesn’t care. Like how can you neglect your beautiful children before they even have a chance to get on their feet. Excepting yall to just figure it out when our government makes it impossible to do so. And every day is a reminder that you are on your own, and your parents will never change. Its hard to comprehend that, as it was/is for me. But you are doing your best, trying to make it work, and that is all you can do. You should be so proud of yourself for making it this far because that is so so difficult. You have so much to offer and are on a level ahead of most because of your situation. The world needs you Charlotte, don’t ever stop. You are such a gift and I truly fell in love with you the first podcast I saw of yours. You are a one of a kind and I truly am such a fan. ❤

Literally, thank you. This makes so much sense and I hope you never question posting these ever because the amount of clarity I feel after every pod makes me feel so much less alone in these thoughts and feelings. You are so beautiful inside and out for sharing this type of vulnerability with the world. Truly one a kind.

I had to do the same when I was about 22. Once you grieve, you will move on and find acceptance although it will take time. After things will start changing in your life, and it’s amazing! Choose happiness now and in the future💞

Hey Charlotte I really recommend reading the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It touches on a lot of subjects your talking about like acceptance and negative emotions. It honestly changed my life perspective and I feel like you might be interested in it

I really believe that parents should work on themselves to raise their children in a healthy environment full of love and care, because being a parent is very difficult, but it's definitely not a privilege

I wonder if your parents ever listen to your podcasts and see how u feel and how much it has affected u & feel guilty over how they have been to you? I don’t think ur dad will feel guilt, but ur mom? I wonder if she sees your videos and knows how u feel and tries to better the relationship between u? Like how would she as a mom react to your videos crying and talking about your family trauma?

Ruminating on the past only makes sense if you haven't dealt with it. After a certain point, it's toxic to ruminate and fixate on things that have already happened! Every person has their own trauma. Imagine if all the successful people used their past trauma to hinder their future successes!
