@@dc4me44 this is one of those cases where divorce is very likely warranted. We only have his side of the story and not theirs but the red flags are great and many. Some people should never be married in the first place. Fortunately they don't have children so each would get a potential fresh start. I have great contempt for people that treat marriage flippantly. Staying married when it's not appropriate is just as harmful.

Once we could afford it, I was so happy to not have roommates anymore and just live with my husband and now our child. I wouldn't want to add roommates unless we were both agreeing that we were fine with it and that the person was responsible enough to deserve a spot in our home and so it would have to benefit us financially and not effect us physically or mentally in a negative way. My mom sometimes asks about moving in with me when we one day have a bigger place or having us move in with her if she succeeds financially and gets a bigger place and I'm like "Hahaha. No. But we can visit each other." Boundaries. Set them up from the start and stick with it.

It's easy to look at this from a distance and say that he needs to pull the plug. Look at what that would take though. He needs to exercise wisdom and demonstrate good decision making skills and back it up with decisive actions. Get involved in a good church!!! The problem is the “village” in NC is just too small bc y’all are new there. You need a larger circle surrounding you and that circle needs to be a community that really respects marriage. I think getting plugged in at a good church and then marriage counselor will help this. Prayers for y’all if you ever see this. Stay strong.

All of the times he said "we" had me cringing so hard. It's not "we", it's him trying to make everything happen because he knows they won't take initiative on their own. If they had any intention of taking action, they wouldn't need him to help at all. What adult needs another adult to order their birth certificate and social security card for them? I bet he even printed and filled out the paperwork for the guy.
