You’re a powerful man, Sam. Very powerful. My MacBook Pro arrives on Thursday and I will copy everything you’ve done. I’ll even call myself Sam for extra power. Loving the videos by the way.
The wifi and Bluetooth work at a same frequency, hence collision, I use to use Bluetooth and wifi at the same time and my internet was very slow when Bluetooth was connected.

Wondering how long you have been back, I guess I can check your videos for that. You're such a smart industrious kid, keep up the great work and sharing yourself.

Super helpful. Liked and commented for the algo. I would love to see a bunch of examples of different niches where your customers could build such simplified information businesses.
How do you manage your folders and documents? Like what does the organization and safety measurements look like? A video about that would be great, because sometimes my computer gets a mess and then I have to clean it all up, and it would be better if it didn't even happen in the first place.
In regard to the microphone and Cloudlifter combo mentioned @8:30, the Shure SM7B is a great microphone that needs a lot of non phantom powered gain to catch a clean audio signal. The Clouderlifter is a preamp that increases the gain of the microphone with little to no noise, allowing the Scarlett Audio interface he is using to hear a louder signal from the microphone.
Always love a good work setup video! Would be great to see a video that's specific to software and workflow used for marketing agencies. Seems there's an infinite number of ways to complicate things.

if you could show us how you manage your time throughout the day that would be great! Do you only use Calendar? How do you prioritize your appointments? I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all that you do Sam. I'm glad you're back to posting videos. Greetings from Italy!
Excuse me for butting in... I know you asked Sam this question, but time management has always been a strong suit for me. Thought maybe I could offer some helpful input. I use Apple voice commands for reminders, Calendar for tasks and meetings and Alarms for today-critical stuff. I am a Mortgage Loan Officer, so I work with a lot of time sensitive tasks. So for me it's _"hey Siri, set reminder to..."_ (goes to reminders) or _"hey Siri set meeting for Tues 3:00PM about..."_ (goes to Cal) or _"Hey Siri, set alarm for 4:00PM..."_ for critical tasks that must be completed later in the same day. But the single most important thing I do *_every day_* to stay on track is what I call *"check out" and check in"* At the end of *_every day_* I go over what I was supposed to complete that day (reminders, Cal, notes). Anything not completed gets moved to the next day or otherwise prioritized. I wrap up each day in my mind usually looking at my phone. Then, *_every morning_* , while I eat breakfast, I go over the day ahead and focus on the first thing I must complete. Once I complete that first thing, the day goes the way it goes from there. I pay attention to my reminders and focus on one thing at a time from there, while constantly adding and updating my time management tools. Hope that helps. My family is from Sicily - I'm second generation... last name is Piazza
Great vid. The best and most productive thing I ever did was to turn all my notifications off. I'm on old school with manual check ins for everything. Some cool apps Sam uses that I hadn't heard of. Will check them out.
Clean setup . Clean mind . Maximize Productivity Great share, Sam - Thank you I'm a Momentum Fan and love using their ToDo - btw, I c u r still drinking La Croix 👍😀👍
I can't fathom working at a desk with one monitor. Other than that, your desk looks super similar to mine! I use a PC as my main day to day, with my Macbook for the road. Having a standup desk was a game changer for me. I spend 60% of my time working standing, and it is my most productive work.
Thanks for sharing, Sam. The BEST thing I love about your videos is that you're infecting us with your discipline. Thank you, Sam! I have an advice. Because your Macbook is almost always plugged in to power, I suggest using a battery management app to limit the charge to 80%, so that the battery doesn't degrade as fast. And since you're using the latest Macbook pro 16 inch, it has a huge battery, so 80% will still be a lot. I use "BatteryStatusShow", but maybe there's a better app. Although this one does the job. Also, don't let the battery of your notebook and phone (or any other device that uses some type of Lithium batteries) to go under 30 or 40 percent. Ideally you want to keep the battery at about 67%, but since it would be paranoid to try to keep it exactly around 67%, just keeping it between 40% and 80% (instead of draining to 0% and charging to 100%) will significantly improve battery health in the long run.
The microphone looks awesome!! The setup looks very efficient. 😂 I film my RU-vid videos with my phone mic. If only I had a mic like that my life problems would be solved 😂😂😂😂
Sam one amazing Tipp: just get the SHURE MV7b instead of the SM7b. It’s the same mic but you don’t need the preamp and the interface. Just straight up usb to the MacBook and you’re set.
Awesome that you are back and share. Would be interessted in how you use journals. And how you manage projects, you use Scrum? I guess you know the book from Jeff Sutherland .. if not: Great read
Have to mention the Unhook for youtube extension, allows you to remove many distracting youtube features like autoplay, recommendations, trending videos etc. This thing has saved my so many hours of my life.
Would be interesting to know what type of music/songs does Sam Ovens listens to. Also, really missing the old long form whiteboard lecture videos. Please bring them back!
Would be interesting to hear if there are any changes in your views on life/business during the time you've been away. Any ideas from the past that have proven to be less relevant than you thought? Or the opposite, some ideas that have been reinforced multiple times in recent years? Since you have your own family and role as an entrepreneur has changed a lot through the years. Maybe some old views on things have changed along the way. Would love to hear your take on this.
good content. you can make a video for people who fail in their purpose and how to make them come back to it. or actions you can take .. a story of your own of that style surely people would like to see it (me included)
I remember you did a video about your heavy blanket once. So now I am curious about your chair, which what supports your body and prevents straining. I am in the market for one. And thanks. I didnt know Magnet yet. It is so essential to quickly resize with something other than fullscreen. I find the Sony A7IV quite simple enough for an easy webcam setup. It has a USB C port and can stream 1080p25 directly via that cable. No capture card needed. And I use the Sigma 35 F1.4 as a lens.
Hey Sam! Your set up looks so peaceful for me. Thank you for share and inspire. Are you using some kind of storage for your files or files of your companies? Maybe Google Drive, Dropbox, Apple iCloud or an external storage device? Specially for your heavy videos? Thanks!
