I am from Meghalaya and I used to visit Nohkalikai Falls since I was a child. But when I grew up I read the story of this incident written on a rock at the entrance and it broke my heart . Since then my perspective totally shifted and now I am emotionally attached to this place . Thank you for bringing this story to light.

@@tris331no this is not the exact story of nohkalikai.... in real, after step dad cooked her child he left and never came back. When likai realised, she became mad and started searching for him all around the village holding a big knife in her hand with intention of killing him....when she did not find him she understood it was of no use and that she ate her own baby so she jumped off killing herself

I'm from Assam but I love meghalaya with my siblings in a aunt's home and I visited that place when I was kid. After hearing this incident from many people I asked to my aunt that is it real? Then she said yes,! it was real story. When I grew up I visited so many times with my siblings & friends and I heard a lady voice crying everytime. It's really shivering but what was happened it's not forgiven & unforgettable. I wish God will that kid's soul rest in peace in heaven also that lady. 😞😭💔

My hometown is cherapunji(know as sohra) where Nohkalikai falls is situated.... Only my grandma live there so we use to visit her on our vacation to reach my grandma house we have to walk pass the falls...but grandma never let us go out at night as she told us there were times...when people hear cries and someone running in the direction of the kalikai falls....
