Scotsman here. I love my NASB. I really don’t understand the “wooden translation” criticism, which is often given but never explained. I’ve often wondered if there was ever a version of the NAS or LSB with British spelling, as that is my only ding against it - although it’s minor. I rarely see anyone else carrying that translation though. Great discussion, gents. God bless.
It's a very good translation, for sure. My personal experience with its woodenness is when it is read out loud. I find reading the NASB aloud is a bit less smooth than reading the ESV or the New King James aloud. But that being said, if the NASB was the only Bible I could ever have for the rest of my life, I should be overjoyed to have it.
Your discussion on Christian Nationalism was very well received, and timely. This gospel is enough. As we see in Scripture, one plants, another waters, but it is God who gives the increase.
Thanks! This is a replay of part of my 5+ hour live stream from several weeks ago. I plan to do another reaction video with Nicholas though, maybe later this month.
I was blessed by this video brothers . The comments about the way a father should respond to his children has made me reflect on my attitude as a father .
The NASB has always been the Duke of literalism. It has been on the desk of every bible teacher here in the States. Gladly, some of the best teachers and preachers, know the weight of this wonderful translation.
