True story about Brent Barry: I was a kid going to a Clippers game at the old Sports Arena. An hour before the game, Barry was practicing jump shots. Three things: 1) He was shooting them a few feet in front of the half court line. 2) He was shooting them like free throws. His feet didn't leave the ground. 3) He was in the middle of an interview so he wasn't really looking at the basket. He never missed a shot.
Jordan, considering that he was shorter than everyone else, plus he had amazing form. It wasn’t just about jumping and reaching the basket. It was about the flight aesthetics. None have matched him
@@mdecimal Listen, I agree that Jordan is and probably will forever be the best player to ever play the game, but Lavine is just a better dunker, as Aaron Gordon is aswell, nothing wrong with it. None of these two will ever compare to MJ, but facts are facts.
iFuriiOG it’s all opinion based when it comes to the ‘whose the best dunker’ debate. This is more broad of a topic than meets the eye. I’m not sure how you can quantify what’s facts and what isn’t facts with this topic. I see it mostly as preference.
@@iFuriiOG it's about pushing the envelop.. one man does a windmill, the other does it with 2 hands and so forth. That's why it's hard to compare era's.
This exactly...everybody travelling but Pip and MJ...hate those dunks in the contest were people are running with the ball already palmed...kudos to LBJ though...
@@thedudeunchained7583 it is strange that they have to run the length of the court to do that too.....seems like running from the 3 point line would be plenty of running. (my last dunk was when I was 42 years old and I am 6' 3" .....and yes white)
Your intro music is one of the worst things I've ever heard... Correction: The music you overlaid for the rest of the video is the worst thing I've ever heard!
@@sandhyarachchi5468 Nobody replied but it got 7 thumbs up... replies have nothing to do with correctness. This video is not about music... therefore the obnoxious music is not needed.
Y’all don’t look at enough tape...Clyde “The Glide” Drexler from one step inside the elbow on a fast break was one of the prettiest long dunks. Technically makes it longer than the free throw line I’d say. Also...somebody show James White some love.
@@BEN26SILVERADO it is a virtual simulator and it can predict anything right, nba2k18 predicted the golden state warriors will sweep the cavs in the 2018 nba finals
Serge Ibaka 7'0" tall (in 2011 L.A. All Star weekend) , Scottie Pippen 6'7" tall (in 1990 Miami All Star weekend) and Michael Jordan 6'6",tall (in 1985 Indianapolis All Star weekend) are the only ones who did it behind the FT line ! End of discussion. And only Pippen & Jordan dribbled the ball...just saying!
@@o.t.t5172 Actually not... You are too young to justify that mate! Go in 1985 MJ and 1990 Scottie did it behind the line! MJ first, then Scottie, and after Ibaka! And ibaka wasn't dribbling the ball like Scottie and MJ did ;-)
@@JT-cj3cw no he didn't.. he was way inside . Even Giannis who did it further back than LeBron was two shoes length inside the FT line. No one has ever done the FT line dunk in game. To be legit it has for the shoe to be stepping on the line at least!
Umm, thats all nothing, last years giannis dunk on hardaway jr was best in game nba dunk, he did the VC dunk over a dude, just the thing that VC did not do it in NBA and actualy the dude was taller.

thats the only one shown in THIS video which the creator is probably biased. dont think that lebron is the only person to ever dunk that far in a game...thats jus what u saw on this guys video
Ibakas dunk is very underrated. And for everyone who says Jordans was better because he was dunking it while going up then if he can do a better dunk its gotta be a longer one. If dunk it while going up just inside the ft line then he should be able to dunk it on the way down behind the ft line, i wanna see him do that. Talk to me again when Jordan actually dunks it behind the ft line. Ibakas>Jordans
+X-Quantum. You're stupid, "You have a horrible grammar" is a double negative, and the "a" doesn't fit in that statement whatsoever. Please go back to school again.
+Anthony Ricarro lmao, you think having horrible grammar means you're stupid? No it doesn't, he tried to correct my grammar when I was right in the first place, yet he was wrong. You should never try to correct someone's mistakes when they were right to being with. It just makes you look more stupid.
Dribbling before dunking looks so much better than running with the ball like what ibaka did. And brent barry was also wearing his jacket during his dunk added difficulty
Lebron's was most impressive to me as it was done in-game, and he had to dribble and outrun the opponent. I guess #4, 3, 2 could have conceivably been done in-game too as Michael and Pippen didn't travel to perform the dunk.
I remember seeing Dr J. ( Julius Erving ) do this from behind the free throw line when he played in the ABA with that ugly Red, White and Blue basketball back in the early 70's
Serge may have the dunk "measured" as the longest from the free throw line, but he had already lost hang time and almost didn't finish the dunk. Michael hanged in air and didn't start coming down till he was past the backboard. MJ wasn't trying to make the "longest" dunk. If so, he could've taken a half step back and still made the dunk that Ibaka did.
No Clyde the Glyde from the 80"s with the best dunk of all time. Open court stuff that was captured from a beautiful angle and slow motion. A thing of beauty.
Cosmic Pulse Clyde Drexler was my favorite. He never gets respect. People don’t remember his great dunks and athleticism just his one championship late in his career and that he wasn’t as good as Jordan. But he has better in game dunks and dunked an 11foot hoop.
Clyde was amazing and tough luck to share his prime with the GOAT...one of these dudes that kids call "the garbage players that MJ won against"...the 92 Blazers would have beaten any team but the Bulls...so many great players that will be forgotten because of MJ...true greatness...Ewing, Drexler, Barkley, Stackhouse, Kemp, Payton, KJ, Robinson, Stockton, Malone, Starks, and the list goes on...an entire decade of great players without a title...imagine MJ had not retired...guess we can all agree they would have won 8 str8 titles...Olajuwon is already forgotten despite the 2 titles...if Jerry Krause had not broken up the Bulls one year too early one could argue 9 titles...10 might have been too much as MJ was getting old...
Forgot Reggie Miller...those Pacers where the only team to take the Bulls to 7 games...Heat with Mourning and Hardaway was also a tough matchup...I probably 4got more teams...
The only player I have seen in a game where their last step was at least 15' from basket was Julius Erving. I saw Erving do it in the ABA vs NBA all star game I think in the Houston Astrodome. Sports Illustrated even did a story on it. Erving made a steal and the only person back for the NBA was Oscar Robertson. SI had a picture of Robertson looking up as Erving who was getting to the rim. His last step was dead on the foul line.
That was the NBA-ABA Challenge. Dr. J did that, except it was BEHIND the free throw line!!! They did an instant replay and I watched to make sure of what I had just seen. Ironically, that was my first time seeing him play. Had never seen anything like that before or since.
There's a reason why they called him Airborne Jordan. Michael would just takeoff and soar through the air with that ball. You can't really appreciate it without watching live back in the day. It was quite the sight to see.
+TheJ24 LeBron traveled, took a dribble and THEN took his two steps... But yeah... MJ, Pip and LeBron got the only "legal" free throw line dunks it seems...
