I was going to do a range video, however, the range is still close. I was told it was open to members, drove all the way out there, and just to see a closed gate. I was meaning to say in the video # 34 and somehow I got #35 in my head.

Dave - AHA..!! The classic GI Hardball..!! Nice mold. Why Lee didn't do the classic GI Hardball is a mystery...did Richard Lee miss something?? His RN 45 is an abominable dome shape - shoots fine, but the classic shape would have been just as good and would appear much more favorable - that's much better than the abominable snowman for sure.... Hope the range opens up soon...Steve
air cooling is my method as well and i have no issues with my casting's, also it's a crying shame you can't use your local range for a weekend of lead slinging, i have 2 ranges that require online reservation my county range is booked up all of august and the other range in the next county which is a steep 29$ for 3 hrs because of the price its not hard to book and the mountain drive as well.
Hi Dave how are you question on lube sizing I’m loading up cast bullets powder coated in rifle the bullets are long so it passes the neck upon firing there is melted powder coat on the neck brass I believe the coating can’t handle the high heat in the case I tried 45 45 10 on the powder coated bullets it helped a little not much do you think lube sizing them would be a better option for these cast Bullets thank you
Generally speaking you don't need hard lead pistol bullets above 10 BHN if you powder coat your bullets. Commercial cast lead bullets are way too hard at 16 BHN and above. The reason for this is solely shipping based. There is less chance of becoming deformed and damaged in shipping which in turn leads to less returns. There wouldn't be any damage if USPS, UPS and Fed Ex drivers wouldn't toss the box around in the truck and throw it on the porch. Bevel base might be easier to load but flat base is almost always going to be more accurate. The reason being more bearing surface to engage the rifling and seal spent gases more efficiently. On a final note I was really surprised to see you using traditional wax lube in a 2020 video. That went out of style at least 7 years ago bud. Start powder coating your bullets. No leading and no smoke...also it's easier to do with less equipment. Your velocity will increase as well. One of the biggest advantages is you can use just about any lead sourced from junk and scrap without having to be precise mixing your alloys to get a specific BHN. This in turn not only makes things much easier casting your own bullets but also saves a bunch of time and money.
