Plasti Dip has come out with 3 new colors for tools. Gunmetal Gray, Blaze Blue, and Blaze Orange. In this video I will be showing off those colors as well as giving you a couple of tips on how to dip your tool to get the best result.
Plasti Dip started as a synthetic rubber coating intended to cover tool handles and provide a sure, strong, non-slip grip that would hold up under abuse. Since then Plasti Dip has been used by business, industry, craftsmen, hobbyists, and Do-It-Yourselfers to do things never dreamed of by the original inventor.

BTW I have an idea that you can swirl the can mixing it instead of shaking and end up with a great mix.. without air bubbles. Just a thought. But not everyone cooks and can do this with other things... :D

VERY VERY COOL!!!! I want to dip some of my sewing/crafting tools. However... the colors I want don't come in dip. I will check out the rest of your products to see if I can achieve what I want without the waste of spray. Thank you for a great video.

That's because sewing / crafting Facebook wine moms will want more colours than are in the rainbow, and sparkles. China will drown us in plastic crap with most of it ending up in the land or sea to please you, but for now western companies prefer not going bankrupt. Just make do. Tie thread around the handle and peel it off while semi wet to provide a nice grippy pattern to differentiate the tools. There's no need for all the silly colours of the rainbow. Trust me. The ecological cost of people wanting lots of colours of things is EXTREME and contributes to a significant hit to the global environment. I've made do with black for forty years!

How durable is the finish? I thought about plasti-dipping my garbage can wheels to silence them more and stop that irritating plastic on concrete rattle. Also how to plasti-dip something that doesn't fit in the can? Can you pour this out?

Can i put this in my spray gun? Because they only sell these in Gallons and I need about a quart...

You can if you thin it 1:1 with the recommend thinners. You can find them printed in the instructions on the back of the can.

Will a heat gun help release the bubbles? I know it works for epoxy.

It's very flammable, not sure it's a good idea.

In my experience, the air bubbles have come from submerging tools too quickly more than anything else (including shaking).

This is true in a lot of cases. Bubbles are something that most people are going to have to deal with at some point or another. Especially those new to this product. For someone who is experienced to this product, this video will not provide any new information. It is more of a tool for those who have had bad or very little experience with dipping tools. In any case you are correct, speed plays a very important role in dipping a tool.

Thanks for a very good video - I've watched this over and over the past six months. I do tool refurbishment, conservation, and restorations, and from our world, we potentially want different properties from this product (and this misunderstanding has led to negative feelings about it). Primarily we want better adhesion to the tool, especially to steel, long-term durability, and for extra credit - to maximize grippiness. Do you have any learnings, insights, or pointers we could explore - I intend to share these learnings back to that community!

Hey Marc, Sorry for the delay. I recommend using the Plasti Dip Primer 11oz aerosol can. You can find it on our website. This will create an almost permanent bond to metal. Hope that helps!

Hey! Sorry for the delay. Yes it is the same product as the 1 gallon Plasti Dip. Gallons are also available in Pre Thinned Spray versions and UV protection added gallons.

Once you open the can is there a time limit before it dries out or will it last with the plastic lid on?

Unfortunately it dries out after a few days even with the plastic cap.

What is the flexibility of the Plasti Dip (once its is cured)? I want to use it for some other project like: Coating a "Balloon-like shape" for example, into Plasti Dip and remove it after curing, possibly in one piece, from the base object and inflate the resulting balloon-shaped Plasti Dip. If it can give me 10% to 15% expansion I will be OK. Please comment on that.

According to Plasti Dip's techinical data sheet, they list the following: Elongation: (ASTM D-638) 430%. It is quite stretchy in use.

@@AWFPRO Oh really! Thats going to be fun. I am just waiting to get it in preferably white color so that I can use some color pigment. The store I saw today in my place had it only in Black.
