New Tremec Dyno, We Got Our WHP Back!

This video is to show how we lost 43 hp on the last dyno with the BC stage 3.
We went from a 449 whp to a 406 using the same dyno. We now went to a Tremec to see the results for various reasons. We netted a 432 corrected whp on a 93 tune. Target was 437 from previous test again using the same dyno.

So glad to see a better dyno result. Just goes to show that Ben Calimer isn’t all he’s cracked out to be. That Tremec is a unit.

Yes sir and there’s more hp in it, we couldn’t run it out to a full 7500 rpm bc gears were too long and knock sensors we’re starting to pull timing.

The problem is that Mustang dyne calibration can output eschewed results. Something as simple as effective dyno weigh change (not vehicle weight) can change result hugely on a Mustang dyno. I've seen the same car spit out 360 rwhp then 500 rwhp with no changes just by changing that figure. This is how Mustang dyno operators arrive at the "Dynojet correction" and they usually overshoot it big time. I'd strongly suggest finding a Dynojet if you want repeatable day-to-day results.

I have several dynos on the same mustang dyno and they are all progressively better per the mod. I also crossed validated on a Dynojet with Winnpep 8 software which standardizes all dynos. Results were 449 MD and 448 DJ. I had no baseline for 1/4 mile and my only running was with the BC stg 3. Results were low 12.0 and best was 11.99. The Mustang community said something was wrong with my car and was blaming the tune, “it’s slow”. Considering a stock Boss runs 12.0 with a slick. I believe the transmission dropped my whp. It’s not a coincidence that whp came back to 443 in which would be 447 if I had used Ford stock coil packs. My next test is track time to see if I gain et. Thanks for your opinion.

Bad Calimer3, Bad Bad Calimer3 !!! And he said yours was one of the best builds he did - then wouldn’t stand behind it when it failed after perfect break-in and low miles. It was about a 30 hp loss !! This has got to make you feel fantastic, and forced you into a Tremec which ain’t all bad !!

No, more like 43 hp. I was on E85 with the original mt82 and made 449 whp. The BC stg 3 test was also on E85 and ran a 406. The Tremec test I tested on 93 and the original MT82 ran a 437 on 93. The Tremec turned a 432. I didn’t run E85 bc it was too late in the year to get good e85. This is exciting to moving forward.

I was referring to the Calimer3 BAD build - where the gears hosed you on HP. The Tremec gearing hosed you on acceleration.

This was on 93 right? Only reason it should pull timing is knock or extreme heat. It should never pull timing on E85. The dyno operater seems a tad paranoid. Those things are built to handle 180-200 mph. A full pull in 4th will net a few more ponies. But I am glad everything is getting better with the car. You deserve a break

Yes was on 93 tune. I also do believe the cars got more in it as the corrected result was 432at 6400 rpm. I will more and likely have the lower gear in it. I can se now how the trans gears are slowing me down.

I think he's more concern about the car making heat and it was so that's why he end the dyno early at 7k. So I may see a few more ponies at the 7500 mark. all in all I'm stoked about the cam and head change now along with moving to a lower gear.

Not exactly, I already have the 4.10 but the 3.91 might be just right. I won’t know until I drive the car after the head and cam change.
