everyone should be focused on DFC. as soon as its operable, ALOT space will free up for passenger trains. + trains at night will see even less traffic, so it is highly possible we may see mumbai to delhi in 7-8hrs if 200kmph is achieved.

@@dreaming_fox163 always reduces 35% of speed to get average if train attempt max speed on 80% of route, that's mean for 200kmph average speed will be 130 kmph, because of heavy traffic, if we actually need more average speed then we should make more double tracks and current double tracks converted into 4 tracks layouts.

@@dreaming_fox163 also there are lots of cities which don't have any rail connection, i also came from a city which have a meter gauge heritage train only🙄 if government start building new tracks layout to connect those region they will lead to shorter distance, more efficient traffic management easily, in my city case if this meter gauge route converted in BG then Ratalm - Jodhpur get new 200kmph shorter and faster route then current one

Real challenge is having good tracks which can support these high speeds not the fast trains. And I think we have almost none of these types of tracks which can support 250km/h speed. But now in my area, tracks are being upgraded to new ones but it is difficult and time consuming to replace things when you running trains all the time.

Train rack and train tracks are two different things, tracks plays important role in speed of train rack, base of tracks and on route curveture along with signalling are some of important factors among many. In India not much attention was given on infrastructure but now it has picked up in positive direction, keep it up. Bravo.

If Vande Bharat trains are not run at speeds in the vicinity of 200 Kmph, it will be nothing but a redecorated Shatabdi Express. Unfortunate part will be in the fact that Vande Bharats are technically far superior than Shatabdi trains, but that potential will remain unutilized if it goes at 130 Kmph max. Having said that, Vande Bharat trains are a wonderful initiative, that deserves more kudos than criticism.

While it is a good begining and Vandhe trains are a big development, railways must heavily focus on strengthening tracks and revising alignment to facilitate much higher speeds. The trains must prove to be a better alternative to road travel and compete with air by teavelling at much higher speeds. If not it will be a failure.

Until the tracks are not upgraded to support such speeds, there is no use. That train which will be capable of reaching 240 kmph will still run only at 110 kmph due to track limitations.

if Railways is able to provide an avg of 100-120 kmph then only these trains will make sense.. it's not the train alone but track and signaling infra ( from start to destination ) that is more important. Even the existing WAP7 run trains are capable of touching 160kmph but are driven at lower speeds in most of the route ( only few sections provide higher speeds ). So they need to invest a lot on the underlying infra upgrade and it's routine maintenance. Especially after the necessary upgrade ( which is relatively slower process ), they must replace the age old hammers with modern processes and reduce human dependence in that sector, then only these speeds are feasible.

The biggest issue that i see in vande bharat is the number of stops. I live in Germany...here there are regional express which run within a particular region and has plenty of stops...then there are IC and ICE which are intercity express which touch 280 kmph...quiet regulary but the number of stops are far lesser...and they reach the destination quite faster. In case of Vande bharat...they didnt reduce the number of stops compared to other trains...the time spent on coasting at every stop increases the time...I feel that that should be its USP and hopefully indian railways check this point

That may be difficult...considering that many people are preferring VB to normal Mail or Express trains. Besides, given the dependency on trains to move freight as well (IR earns 70% of its revenue from freight), it will be difficult to run a high speed or semi-high speed trail line VB on the same tracks.

Yes ICE is very good but these Vande Bharats are not meant to be like an ICE. I have not traveled in ICE but I have I have been in local trains in Germany. The train ride from Munich to Salzburg was a horrible experience. Back to India, India is now using this chair cars version for short distances, it will be like local trains. The better Vande Bharats with sleeper will be used for higher speeds and lesser stops. My favorite train ride was from Milan to Rome, which touches 350 kmph. I wish India reaches that speed level in 10 years.

Great, but can you also provide an update on - 1. tracks repair 2. anti- collision 3. Vacancies on critical staff 4. Delays in trains and low avg speed There have been many accidents but no update ?? 2.6 lakh people died in rail accidents in India in the past 10 yrs. Most weren't killed in collisions.

Well these trains are all good but the real issue is the track which we don't have. I traveled to Delhi via vande bharat and it's avg speed was 110 which is seriously low. And the way our gov works i don't think we will see any significant upgrade in track anytime soon

Those who are asking about tracks , i want to say them that, everyone knows that traks are needed and u are not the one of the few u knows it , it is very basic And work is in progress, be little patience, upgrading tracks is not so easy , it very costly and time consuming(with current indian railway budget)

More than new range of Vande Bharat trains, track upgradation should be given first priority. The age old tracks don't even support the 160 kmph speed of present generation Vande Bharat trains .

If Indian trains upgrade to an *average speed* of 120 kmph journey time would reduce by half! This speed increase to 240 kmph may hopefully save valuable travel time for passengers. Hope for the best from the Railway Minister.

If we can acheive 240kmph and have tracks where we can operate it, why do we need sleeper coach? The train will get there faster. So a chair car, which is cheaper to make as compared to sleeper can be used. Also why do we need a sleeper? People travel 12 hrs or more in aircrafts. Why not on a AC train with more leg room? Sleeper is good when train takes about 24 hrs or so, if you have a faster train. No need sleeper.

India ko High speed ke sath Bullet Train and Maglev Train par kam and research suru kar dena chahiye. Rail track and new signal /safety upgrade is very important to achieve more than 200KMPH speed. Rail track fencing is needed for this otherwise many accidents can occur.

Nothing is achieved if current vande Bharat is used. It can be used as a prototype stage but developing a train for 350km/hr is necessary for mass production. Then it is future proof. Otherwise obsolete.

Lol Just to give you a context, Kiratpur - Ner Chowk National Highway project was planned only because the curvy and narrow roads between the two towns (130 kms apart) took riders 5-6 hours to cover. (plus of course towns in the way) Straightening the road and creating tunnels for the same has taken 10 years and 6000 crores. Now it's a breezy 1 hr 45 minute and 84 kms of four lane expressway. On similar lines, most of our existing train tracks are curvy and a lot of the land around tracks in towns are under heavy encroachment. This is going to a massive excercise before railway ministry even begins to uproot old tracks and start laying modern tracks and signalling systems. Plus it's going to take thousands of crores of investment. I don't know who advised them to put the cart before the horse and concentrate on new rakes first. By the time modern tracks are ready, it will be 2035 at least, and these news rakes will become obsolete.

How on Earth can a Sleeper coach have lower Center of Gravity??? There are berths (weight) affixed 3-6 feet above the floor..and people (additional weight) sleep on it. Sleeper coaches have CG higher than Chair-cars!

The road is worst every 4-5 years . Roads are being laid but because of hilly areas , and soft road these roads are damaged with potholes and All . Can you please make a video on how which technology can make roads in northeast where heavy rainfall happens the nhs can make good roads to tackle this

It is probably just design speed. I really don't trust the word of Ashwini ji. He seems to be a bit flippant. Recently, he was speaking to a few RU-vidrs onboard Vande Bharat and he said that AC coaches are becoming more numerous as the speed of trains increases but just after that, he said that even non AC trains can run at 160 km/h. I mean, what BS is that? Anyway, I know for a fact that operating non AC trains above 130 km/h is unsafe, impractical for the railways and uncomfortable for the passengers. How is he planning to run non ac trains above 130 km/h? By asking passengers to keep their windows shut? Anyway, I much preferred Piyush Goyal and Suresh Prabhu as our railway ministers.
