@@amytprincessamygaming6022 Dallas is offsides when they do it (or encroachment) while the Push Tush is just considered a form of QB sneak, so if you say ban the Tush Push, you are just saying ban the QB sneak.
@@amytprincessamygaming6022 It's BS that Jalen Hurts can squat 500 lbs. and your QB can't. Why should the league ban one play that one team has success with? Sounds like an issue that has to do with skill. Hmmm.
40 count them 40! callable penalties in Fins eagles game and what did we see from the refs 0 . 40 and they didn't call one . TE talked before the ball gets there ref noticed the knee go down but not the defender being there before the ball ? yeah right . Don't complain about Dallas getting calls when you get 2 games like that in a row . Go Chiefs
@@stoneyoutdoors8819 imagine being so pathetic in life you sit in a comment section on RU-vid and just troll all day...dude didn't even mention a certain team or specific game and you're saying he's coping.... idk how people end up like you in life, but I wouldn't wish that life for anyone.
It’s been some weird stuff for decades, but this year, I really blame Draft Kings, Fan Duel, and anything else the NFL has partnered with in “legal” sports betting.
@@Notifications_off69 The trolls are still trying to claim gas is $5/gal? I figured you all would be done with that lie seeing as its been about 15 years since it was accurate.
The NFL needs clear, obvious guidelines for what constitutes forward progress being "stopped" because this is getting ridiculous. If there already is, it's not obvious to anyone from the outside, and they need to do a better job of calling it as such.
@@supaFI understand why they would call progress stopped even if it wasn’t for safety, otherwise you could just hold the runner off the ground until the ball gets stripped. But sometimes they call it 1 second after he hits the defender and, as you saw with the cards, they let them chop their feet forever. I’m betting the defenders let up a bit assuming they’d call it dead.
It is obvious, they love these judgment calls. Then they can help sway a game one direction or the other, depending on what boss man Goodell tells them to do. I don't think it's scripted, play for play but I think the NFL has an idea of which team they'd rather win certain situations, and the refs will do their best to make it happen.
Oh please, they can't give a clear definition of what the hell "a football move" is during a catch. You think they can give a complex answer like that? Fat chance.
They explained later that the film review after the play in NY showed the spot was incorrect and the refs were told to fix it. They should have announced that explanation!
There needs to be accountability for these officials. Some of these are so blatantly bad that you can't blame people for thinking games are rigged. An apology from the league a couple days later is NOT good enough. Its disgusting
Refs need to be fined when they make really atrocious calls. They fine players for all sorts of stupid stuff, they need to fine refs for their bad calls and an even bigger fine if that call is in the last 2 minutes and defines the way a game ends. You get fined about $7,500 for throwing the ball into the crowd after a touchdown, so refs should face a $7,500 fine for every bad call and $15,000 if it's a bad call in the last 2 minutes. They'll stop quick.
“uNsPoRtSmAnLiKe CoNdUcT, tAuNtInG…” Stop it, zebras. Be better at your jobs. We’ve had pretty bad officiating since as far back as the infamous Fail Mary… TEN YEARS AGO??? Whether it’s because of Goodell wanting to make this the No Fun League or Fantasy Football/betting on games, football just isn’t as entertaining to watch as it used to be. And do something about the damn turf. Players are getting hurt, and we’re seeing it has a lot to do with the surface on which these players are playing… and getting slammed. Bring back the grass, dammit.
Yup I agree definitely a bad move on the Nfl for the refs and the commercials as they are investigating players for betting and the rams coach with the Vegas bet that he probably didn’t know but since they probably lost money on that they want to blame him
Can’t go high, can’t go low and you can’t go to the center. Where do you hit a QB since I’m pretty sure if you just breathe on them or just gently touch them with a hand you’d get a roughing the passer.
last season there were at least 2 different players called roughing the passer for slapping the QB's arm cause the rusher was getting held. Different weeks, different teams.
Need to give them flags, gotta tackle em in case they run, can't tackle em or you get a penalty. At this point the QB just need to be playing flag football.
Need to add that baffling "fumble" by Detroit from MNF. Crosby obviously rips the ball out late, but they rule it a fumble on the field and then uphold the call after the review despite having angles showing the runner down before the ball was ripped free.
I was at the game. At first it looked like Detroit was on top of another player, but on replay you could clearly see his legs were flat on the ground. I don’t get how that wasn’t overturned. I did enjoy the “Bullshit” chant from the crowd.
That Steelers Jags game was horrendous. I’m moreso frustrated that the Lawrence hit with no body weight got called yet a full body weight hit where Kenny got hurt was NOT called. Of course the field goal call was bad but I feel like that one was worse.
@@mdenz3How was it whining? That play is EXACTLY why the rule is in place. He took the full force of the defenders body weight as he was driven to the ground.
Fire the ref from the Cardinals game who moved the ball. That was beyond unfair. Additionally, can we make a rule that allows us to review where we can detect when whistle is blown so you can challenge it?
He was short. He didnt reach his arm out until his ass was touching the ground. Doesnt deserve to be in this video. Just got stuffed, cut and dry. Just like later in the game on McBride's TD.
@@andrewgrove1691 im not a jaax fn aat all. but it was offsides lol, regardless of if it wasa a field goal or not.... you have to call it, like wtf r u guys bitching about??? should be your team not the refs lol
It was late he didn’t have the ball when he was hit. And he was driven to the ground. The hit on Trevor should’ve been the same call though. A lot of the calls in this clip I agree with.
@@davidkaplan5517 No no no he should be fined for holding Kenny's arm to his body and landing on top of him causing him to get injured. He needs to be heavily fined for that.
I used to defend the refs as a former ref in the UK at amatueur/club/University level, but I have seen so many blatantly incorrect calls recently that it goes beyond human error and looks like actual rigged calls. Moving the ball in that Arizona game was so obviously a case of "we don't want Arizona to get a first down here". The roughing call on Lawrence & no roughing call on Pickett in the same game is inexcusable as its inconsistent.
I don't know, I mean they were calling the Hawks DB's for Breathing on the Browns WR's and letting the Browns DB's do everything but tackle the Hawks WR's but the Hawks still won.
Its amazing that still with all the cameras and replays and rules and procedures the refs have to follow; they continue to get things wrong. Officiating has to be simplified in some kind of way.
These RTP calls are so ridiculous. Quite literally you breath on a QB and they'll flag you for it. Let these guys play. So many of these calls, even when you see the player pull up or shift his body weight to not land on the QB are getting called as RTP (which the rules says not to land on them with their body weight and alot of them don't), yet it still gets called. You can see why these guys are afraid to hit the QB at all because they don't know if its "legit " or not.
I’m surprised you don’t have that fumble from the Raiders Lions game. I keep watching a play and still I’m confused how they were able to rule it a fumble when you can clearly see him down before Maxx Crosby rips the ball out.
I’ve been watching old games from the early ‘90’s and it was refreshing to hear the commentators not obsess over every damn penalty called or not. The commentators were better and so was the gameplay.
Just starting out with the recent Steeler game, I know there were bad calls against them and you even see these take away touchdown late flags, also keeping the other ream's drive alive with constant flags, some are just plain bogus too - it often has a really suspicious appearance. I understand lots of teams have serious complaints on these key calls and it is very unfair. Too much gambling on football if you ask me.
The roughing the passer penalties and terrible calls/no calls by refs are making the NFL damn near unwatchable lately. Been an avid fan for 20+ years, and I'm ready to just stop wqtching entirely
Unfortunately, it is not explained here. The runner need to get the ball to the 35 and was stopped short. The ball was placed where he reached out to after he hit the ground but replay called down and said the ball was back to the where it was moved to in the clip.
@@ingiford175 yeah...clearly that ref tried to put himself between the ball and the 847 cameras all over the field and 80,000 spectators in the stands.
You forget how in the commanders game they called smith catch a catch with no review. It was blatant that the ball hit the ground and it wasn’t catch… but they reverse the Jahan catch…
This is ONE WEEK mind you....ONE...for a multi billion dollar company to not have full time vetted officials is literally pitiful. The NFL and WWE what's the difference? IDK.
Jets-Giants -- Play clock moves from 35 to 34 -- Game clock stays at :01 UNREAL. All these plays are EVERY WEEK. NFL Refs decide all games with horrible calls. It's beyond pathetic already
I’ve said it before, at this point the D line shouldn’t even go for the QB. Sometimes they call roughing the passer, sometimes they don’t. The inconsistency is crazy!
Officials are getting worse by the season n each season. Miss the 1983 - 2017 officials Even tho I'm only 22 years old I've seen a couple vids n read back in the day from 1983 officiating was Solid n consistent 👍
The refs need to be made full time, fined/punished for egregious bad calls, and there should be another official added to each game that watches the live broadcast and can call a foul based on what the tv camera sees in real time
I dont get the "need to be full time" BS, , , , WHY? You think they will not make bad calls because they are full time? They will make the exact same calls regardless of career status.
I don't think the refs are the ones truly behind these calls. Think about it. Let's use the Chiefs as an example. Put yourself in the mindset of an NFL executive. Travis Kelce starts dating Taylor Swift, her stans start watching him play, this leads to a BOOST in viewership, and even more viewership if these Stans wanna see their idol's true love play like a champion, viewership==🤑🤑🤑, you of course like that, you then realize that this relationship of theirs will be profitable so long as Travis Kelce plays like the #1 TD in the world, or more importantly, so long as Taylor Swift has a reason to watch NFL games, which she wouldn't if her boyfriend gets injured and is out for a few games or the season, thus no 🤑🤑🤑. So what do you do? Well If I were soulless enough to be an NFL executive, I would NOT allow that to happen by informing the referees that if Travis Kelce doesn't get well protected by flags against the defense for so much as touching him and "coincidentally" plays horribly or "coincidentally" gets injured, then the refs will be "coincidentally" severely punished, whether that means being fired for "poor performance" or sued for all their life-long wealth for... Idk, "sexual misconduct" since there are female refs, if that never happened then I'll make it up on the spot and coerce everyone to follow along the lie This would only applies to the Chiefs but is just an example of why these refs are only doing what they're being told to do. Plus, the NFL has a relationship with DraftKings, so there's DEFINITELY stuff going on behind the scenes that is fueling this
There is 2 aspects to 6:26 that make it *REALLY* bad; 1. Referees are ALWAYS prematurely blowing plays dead when they shouldn't, and they almost NEVER admit that they screwed up afterwards. Here, the Pats kept playing defense because there was no whistle and actually forced a turnover, yet the officials say, "There SHOULD HAVE been a whistle because forward progress was stopped" and Miami kept the ball, which was bullshit and brings me to the other aspect. 2. Last year, when the Pats faced the Bengals, Pats where 5 yards away from a potential game winning touchdown. Rhamondre Stevenson runs the ball up the gut, was stuffed, gets pushed back for like 3 seconds, a Bengals defender pops the ball out of his hands and Bengals recover the "fumble" and eventually win. Not a SINGLE whistle was blown when Rhamondre was getting pushed back, yet in this game, Raheem Mostert's forward progress gets stopped for less than 2 seconds, isn't pushed back, Tavai punches the ball out and Pats recover, yet the officials say it's not a fumble, despite the fact there was also not a single whistle blown during the play. I feel like I should also mention that in the game the Pats played the week after facing the Bengals (funny enough, their opponent was the Dolphins), they forced another fumble on the Miami RB who was MID-AIR and moving forward, yet the officials called forward progress and Miami kept the ball. There is a pattern of utter incompetence here, and I do not like it one bit.
That pass by Goff that wasn't flagged for grounding is because his running back was within 5-7 yards. Sure, the running back had no chance to catch it, but he was in the vicinity, which is all that matters. Otherwise, I do agree with most of these shown here.
They actually addressed this later in the broadcast with a comment from New York stating the ball went almost directly over the RBs head, therefore not grounding (regardless of where the ball landed).
obviously it's impossible for every call to be right.. the issue is when EVERYONE watching the game in person or on tv KNOW the right call and the 3 refs on the field get it wrong. Even when the "expert/vet" ref joins the broadcast after a controversial call knows the right call.. that's when someone like that "special ref/sky ref" needs the ability to step in and make the right call.
I just don't understand how if they can have a replay ready of any player on the field in 5 seconds, why they can't just challenge flags, and have the people upstairs say yes or no, and then continue. Clearly the refs aren't striving to be better. I'm curious tho to see how poorly they ref flag football in the olympics.
If you were confused by the call in the battle of the birds, the runner was ruled down by contact prior to the runners extension of the ball, which resulted in an incorrect spot of the ball. I really wish the Refs had clarified why they were doing it, because I was calling bs until I watched the replay.
@@KnightJauneArc What I was suggesting was that the refs make an announcement on the field like they do when the pick up an unwarranted penalty flag. This was not the only coverage of the game, so other commentators may not have Gene as a resource.
3:30The lineman try to hide the ball with his foot and walked off like nothing happened. I totally agree since the legalization of sports the actions of these refs are really suspicious
To the people talking about the 12:44 play, it was a shift and once the back became set it then was a motion for the receiver. This it not the standard use of a shift but will see a rise of it as it helps hide the formation pre snap. The nfl might change the rule to not allow this but it is a loophole for now
@@Kickflipguy you can have two or more people in motion, this is called a shift which is what the dolphins did. the running back came out of the backfield with the wide receiver went to the slot, this is the shift, and once the running back became set then the wide receiver went into motion back to the outside and then back to the slot.
Two or more in motion is a shift... but all players have to become set for 1sec before another motion/shift can happen. The WR was in constant motion during/after the shift and never came set, so it should have been an illegal procedure/shift. Could have also been called an illegal motion, since the WR was moving towards the LoS at the time of the snap.
The thing I hate the most is the booth guys going blind and backing bad calls to the hilt . CBS is one of the worse for that . They'd ignore bad calls even with the rule book in front of them
I've been watching the game many years and have never seen officiating this bad. It really does make you wonder if there's something going on. These calls are ridiculous! 🤔
