Why does everyone just fucking destroy Justin Fields when he's sliding? I swear a great majority of the clips I see of QBs getting absolutely decimated while sliding are Justin Fields clips.
Right? Announcer says the real issue is now Pittsburgh has 15 more yards cushion from the end zone. No, the real issue is how do you get called for taunting after a play when you fail to convert on 4th down?
Hitting the QB when he's full-speed scrambling for a first down is an impossible task to ask defenders to ease back and go easy. Over legislating causes undo problems. You can see the defenders were only trying to not give up a first down while running in attack mode. You can also see they realized after the fact that they messed up. It's not malicious!!!!

I have to say if a player plant’s himself and braces for a hit it shouldn’t be a fouls on them. Hell the nba has the charging call for that thing to go against the offense. You run into someone that’s there that’s on you not them.
The fact that there was almost a whole minute of the bengals and Steelers game just shows the HATED rivalry between the two. Especially when most of it was between minkah and mixon. Even better since these guys will see each other again later

QB need to slide way sooner. This sliding when a defender has started his tackle is kooky at best. As soon as a defender drops down to tackle QB can no longer slide. It is not the defenders fault that the QB should not have tried to get an extra yard or two. Bad rule, bad game. Thank you for fantasy football, so the stupid possibly corrupt rules do not matter as much. Literally after FF is over I do not watch the playoffs or the SB. Could care less.
I agree that some rules are bad ones, but the QB slide rule seems to work just fine. Most, if not all of these clips are of defenders having to practically dive to even hit the QB. If they just tackle normally they'd miss and the QB would be down without injury
@@andrewrobison6335 The problem is the QBs are starting their slide too late because they are trying to get a first down while sliding. So, the QB waits and the defender is supposed to just let the QB get the extra yard or even extra foot? Especially when they half slide half dive for the first down. The rules are wacked to the point that there should be no gambling allowed, no legal gambling allowed on the games until stead fast rules can be clearly established.
I don’t think the quarterback should be allowed to slide I think if they slide and get hit thatz there own fault no one on the field does that except quarter backs
1:55 this made me so mad. this is exactly the kind of thing that actually can paralyze/seriously injure someone. he had plenty of time to let up, instead he follows through with his helmet.
The quarterback situation needs to change. 3rd and 1 and the QB keeps it and can just slide across the line and you're not allowed to try to stop him once he starts sliding. Also the QB can just stiff arm or run someone over instead of sliding and the defense has to be on their heels anticipating a slide and holding themselves back from hitting them. If we're going to allow QBs to just run whenever they want they need to be able to be hit.

I hate these "late hit" call on the qb slides. Dudes in the middle of tackling so the little woose...i mean qb...slides last minute and gets 15 free yards.

this is unfair on the defensive player quarterback running then does late slide at last second before getting hit. this slide rule hurting more than protecting
