How to correctly install the Niche NFC Disc
Note: If burr screw is too tight, set your grinder to calibrate and it will loosen off easily. Be sure to give the bolt a final firm tighten to make sure the bolt doesn't come loose.

What's the difference between screwing the disc before and after calibrating the dial?

1 year later and still no answer. It makes no sense to me why they included that step, but who knows.

@@jeffmattel7867 when it is in calibration mode, the rotation panel is pressed the most, leaving more height to tighten the screw more

Hey! Thanks for the video. Is it necessary to screw the nfc disc tightly so it doesn’t rotate freely on its own or it can rotate loosely in the final position?

You will want it to be fully tight or the burr bolt will come undone when grinding.

Do you have a measured torque setting I can use with a torque wrench?

Just as tight as you can go, you won't damage the disc or mechanism.

Keep in mind you might have to loosen it eventually!

Hi, I find my bolt not extremely tight, every time I try to give it a firm tighten, it slips, like it's not locked in the final place, is it normal or my grinder might be faulty? thanks!

Make sure you use the provided socket wrench, tighten until you feel resistance then give it a firm jerk. You can apply a bit more force as you won't risk damaging the disc or mechanism.

@@nichecoffee787 Yes, I'm using the socket wrench that comes with the package. Sure thing, I'll give it a go. It's just every time I tried to tighten it to the very end, it slips. So not sure if I'm over-tightening it or something was not quite right with my machine.

The screw on my machine will get loose over a few uses. Very frustrating, and this is just overall bad design. And I tried "jamming your finger in the hole" trick, it hurt a lot but didn't help at all.
