Yes make them, I’ve had the same calipers you have for 3 years now and haven’t done the install yet because I need to modify the brackets and my neighbors are sticklers for loud noises 😅
Nice to know I am not the only one with a set sitting on the shelf for several years. The sanding disc and the Dremel were not to loud, but that cutting disc on the brake dust shields was very loud. Good luck with your install, hope this video helps you complete your project.
Glad you found the video helpful. I really wanted to do my best to document all the details the Nissan Skyline community needed to feel confident to install the BBK themselves. I am going to figure out how to develop a direct bolt on bracket and start my own website. That's my goal for this year.
Knowing the headaches of this install I still decided to do it. I’m not sure if I got a bad front brake kit from z1 but none of the hardware they sent me fits their bracket and neither does the stock bolts. Small issue to have but things I wish I did better: I should have bought “new” calipers from Z1. A whole kit from them is around 1300 and I spent close to that having to rebuild the ones I bought off of eBay. I could have had fresh painted and fully rebuilt calipers for almost the same price. Overall a great video. Thanks for help!
Hey Joey, Glad you found the video helpful. Hope you get everything sorted out and the brake install goes good for you. Thanks for watching and have fun with your GTR!👍
That brake job looks like an absolute headache with all the modifications necessary. No way i would've done my brakes if i had to do all that. I agree that a direct bolt on alternative would be great
I have decided to develop my own direct bolt on set. It will take time and money to pay for laser measurement and CAD design + R&D fees. More to come stay tuned.
I have a 92 GTSt and a 98 GTt and the reason why I’ve never done a BBK is due to the lack of straight bolt on kits out there. If you can make this happen. Lemme know. I’m from Washington like you as well.
Fellow Washington GTR Nissan Skyline owner, that's awesome. I am going to definitely speak with my connections I have and see see who I can hire to help me with the R&D to create a prototype that is direct bolt on. Stay tuned, not sure how long this will take, but it is something that us Skyline owners need. Thanks for your channel support. 👍
The most affordable/ bolt on kit for the front is 350z brembo. All you have to do is drill the mounting holes to 14mm. U can buy brand new reman 350z brembos for 200$ for the pair
@@JDMRightHandDrive I'm still learning how to pull my motor so my mechanic can take my pile of parts and change my oil pump. I got some time before I do brakes. =o)
