This right is is the exact same reason many Millennials and younger in the USA aren't having kids. Majority of us literally can't afford the luxury of having a child. (Yes, luxury based on how expensive having a child in a hospital in the USA is without even taking into account all the costs for doctors and such. ) If we all decided to go ahead and have kids we would be living off the welfare system which can barely afford those currently on welfare. Bringing a child into such a chaotic world while pushing them into poverty with horrible education compared to what we got in school...sounds like an irresponsible decision.

It is an issue of morality and what people find important in life. Nations with access to 'distractions' tend to be falling into the 'no kids' camp, where as those without such distractions see more value in having a good family. New generation's just have different types of opportunities like the internet , call phones , computers that we never had . Without family its very hard I will admit

The young man's problem is something that my parents and grandparents faced back in the 1930 and 1910s. So I have 2 possible 3 generations of experience taking care of elders. And terrible economic condition necesating long range job search of 100 miles minimum. Possibly more justifying relocation of enter family to another state. In his case, another country.

The regime herded the former group into higher education and into the workforce. This in turn has shrunk the eligible pool of desired mates to approaching zero. They herded the young from poor rural areas into taking jobs in cities which are not affordable to live in on the average one income. Over there, the groom is expected to pay a dowry to the bride's family and also buy a home before marriage. Costs for these are far higher with a higher educated, higher achieving fiancée in a very expensive city than a lower educated, non-working one in a poor rural town. The former would want her children to have the best educational opportunities no matter the price. The parents and grandparents would spoil them rotten in exchange for studying all the time. The young couple and their families would struggle doing this with just one kid. They're liabilities. In the old days, poor young women only expected to be a good wife and mother. So, they happily pumped out babies. The children worked in the fields or wherever helping out the family starting at a young age. So, they were assets.

Nope. America has a social ‘safety net’. There is social security disability, unemployment, welfare, Medicaid, WIC, food stamps etc. If a middle class family loses employment they have government programs to help get them back on their feet or at least to sustain themselves until they get back in their feet.

Yes it is slightly better I assume but my brother and his wife are among the top 7% income earners in Germany and guess what? Buying a house is off limits. They bought a small apartment but you can only have let‘s say one or two children if that is the case, reasonably. They are fine but housing is just too expensive. So why have a ton of children if you can’t even afford a family home? And they are the top 7%. Inequality became crazy over the last decades. And on top of that we need to save for retirement because most likely we won’t get much at all. Living paycheck to paycheck is not sustainable and that is why people don’t have children. I got lucky and bought a small apartment in France. I feel like when you earn money you need to go to a cheaper place in order to buy a home because locally you can’t afford it.

It was inevitable because the current financial foundation is based in DEBT BASED FIAT MONETARY SYSTEMS. It uses debt/credit to create currency. This is like monetary STEROIDS that has created a false sense of security. Marriage used to be about making a good deal for thousands of years. It has only been attached to romance very recently, historically speaking. And the outcome of this short term experiment is rather questionable. Getting married is about committing to a team partner for life. Love will help. But it's about loyalty, mutual support and reaching life goals together. If life lacks perspective, like it does for these young people, why would they commit themselves to a team partner? There is no game, which they could win together, in the first place. Also, back in the 19th century, "until death do us part" was only 9 years on average, as it was common for women to die in labour and for men to die in the workplace or battlefield.
