Here's all the best stuff I can think to explain about nodes in the Fusion page of Resolve 15. It's a crash course on how they work, as well as some specific ways to connect and use them. Enjoy!
Also... I'd like to address everyone who wants to point out the little "FX" box in AE tells you that an effect is applied. I know. I missed mentioning that little detail in the video. It still doesn't tell you WHAT is happening until you twirl the effects down. So... just drink some tea and relax.

Casey, you seem to be the foremost RU-vid content creator with respect to DVR. Your videos are excellent. The content is clear and accessible. Your humor is refreshing and engaging. Nodes were very daunting to me, but after watching several of your videos on the topic I feel willing to take a stab at it. Keep it up, and thank you!

Really really helpful! I have been working on a 10 seconds intro video over the past week, I had a lot of struggles with the nodes, trials and errors, somewhere I made it through. Watching this video helps me to clear up the confusion! I would say to other beginners like me out there, just play around the nodes and make some mistakes, then watch this video, it will be less scary.

Right after watching the video, I watched another for a more complex fusion project having fire come out of an object in a video and guess what, it was totally understandable every single step made sense. I was agonizing over why I couldn't get a background to go UNDER the elements I was trying to comp, and this FINALLY got me to understand that the entire issue was the dang colour of the arrows going in and out of the first Merge node! (Also, that multi-output trick is super-nice!)
