Yes, I solved it. Mainly because of your video and secondary because of my effort to find suitable SP-daten. It was my first ECU programming ever. I hooked up the ECU on the table using WDS to find the appropriate pin outs and used my TV receiver charger as 12V power supply :D. I started 8 hours ago and now I am ready to go to sleep :D :D :D ( my local time is 3 AM )

hanizz2 which module are you trying to connect to? If it's anything but the DME or egs you need to solder pins 7 and 8 together on your cable

thank you for the reply - Im trying to connect the NCS to CAS on the e92 - My cable has the switch for having the 7 and 8 pins together. DO you think the daten files are not compatible with the ncs expert version and should try to get the 3.1. I will try to also manually connect the 7 &8 just in case. thank you for the replies again!

hanizz2 actually I think E92 doesn't need them to be soldered. Try updating the sp-datens. Try connecting with the switch on and see if it works. If it doesn't, try with the switch off

@@flyhacking5830 Thank you for the quick reply. I must be doing something wrong. I'm following Evan Goyuk's tutorial for the e46 LED tail lights. I'm not getting any contact between the PC and car and I don't have the REVTOR NCS EPXERT Profile which he uses.

@@DriftingSquirrel you should have the revtor profile. Also, try connecting to your airbag module in inpa. If it doesn't connect, you need to solder pins 7 and 8 together on your cable

@@DriftingSquirrel the name being slightly different shouldn't be a big deal. Do the airbag test I told you about and go from there

Mark Ancheta I couldn't get tis to work either way. It comes up as question marks. If you need anything from tis, there is an online version. If you don't need anything from tis, there's nothing to worry about

Grace Beylouneh I removed TIS because it wasn't working. That will not affect anything. Use newtis.info for TIS

Hello again. I use the software I provide as much as I can, but I have one problem. I have a diesel e46 and when I open the injector readings (adjustment) my Inpa shows this: prikachi.com/images.php?images/627/9204627j.png As you can see, the units of measurement used are mm^3, and the limits from -50 to 50. I have reviewed other videos on youtube and there it is seen that the readings are with another measure unit(mg/hub) and the boundaries are -5 to 5. Salih Kurtov I think it may just be a translation error. Although the numbers are from -50 to 50, the actual numbers for the cyilnder are correct

No Life King make sure your cable is recognized. Open device manager and make sure your cable is set to com port 1

There's a possibility that the file for that ecu is corrupt. Before I hop onto that, is there more than one option for selecting an ecu?

Not too sure. From INPA main menu I do shift+F7 for Mini R50. Then click Engine which brings up 3 options on right side. I try the top one. EMS2K. That is when I get the error. I am not at home to try any other options. I think I get unable to connect for any other options like Chassis, Body etc.

pdxDavid I suggest you try out the other ECU's to see if any work.I'm not sure if mini coopers are the same, but older BMW's up to 2007 require pins 7 and 8 to be soldered together on the cable

I'll try it out. I think I get an error about connecting when I try the other options after selecting Engine. Thanks for your help.

pdxDavid as a final resort I'll do a teamviewer session and see if the file is corrupt

CJE HOLDINGS you can't have ista and inpa installed at the same time. When I did that, my cable stopped working. I uninstalled ista and inpa started working again. Since you have a newer car, I recommend you keep ista. I think ista is more organized than inpa anyway

What cable are you using?

There's no need to pay that much for a cable. Just look for the cheapest one on eBay and buy it. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with your cable though

I'm sorry, but that's just the way the software is. What I do is just copy the codes and paste it into google translate. It's surprisingly quite accurate.

I've made sure I spelled the variable name and value correctly and it is in my path.

It's been asked a gajillion times below and I stated I removed the folder because TIS wouldn't work properly. Just use newtis.info

hondake94 open search, search for cmd, right click and run as admin. Then drag the bat into cmd and hit enter

You do shift and F6 at the same time to get to e46

At the end of the video you used the Update tool with an E46 folder, but later I realized it's not required for NCS Expert to work. Since then I was able to make some modifications to my car. Thank you for the detailed instructions on how to install the tool! The only thing I'm struggling with is the DRL settings. I want to enable the option to turn on DRL (high beam on lowered intensity) on the dashboard, but I simply can't find any useful information about that. Currently I don't have the option to turn on or off the DRL.

Thank you! It helped me turning the rings on but not the high beams. At this point I think that is restricted to the US models. Also I found a really useful tweak here for the cruise control. I posted about the problem here on the forum maybe theres a solution. Thanks again!

nvmd something was screwy with the variable and path stuff .. i followed your process but it wasn't exact so i just added more redundant paths and variables and it seems to work now!

If you check the thread to e46fanatics that I have linked in the description, there is a somewhat older version.. Why are you trying to switch to ADS when you can use an adapter? Although the adapter doesn't always work

@@flyhacking5830 Hey Thanks for your super fast response. I was using the data in "All BMW Tools" in your thread already. However in the Ediabas.ini it says Version 7.xx. I noticed it doesn't show ADS as an Option there as well. So the whole programm doesn't support I suppose. I tried moving the ADS drivers to the windows folders (32 & 64 bit) and so on but with no success. I always get DirectNT.sys couldn't be found and then some other failures after that. Do you have an older version further down the thread (which is quite long)? I'm trying to use ADS, as my car hast an ADS Port. It is an M52b28 swapped E30. Engine is supposed to be out of an E36. That's why I bought the do-it auto ADS Interface and an used ho laptop with serial port. With the data provided by the company I couldn't rund Inpas on it. It would always tell me the this isn't the right version for this windows. Even in compability mode and everything.. But as the manual is for XP I think this will leave me hardly any chance not to install XP on it 🙄

Slengo Slengaw I'd suggest just trying out all of the engines until it works. The translations are inaccurate so the engines don't match the DME.

Yes, anyway i fixed this. I downloaded richt32.ocx file, and put them into syswow64 folder, because there was no file with name richt32.ocx.

At which point did you receive this error? Anyways here's a checklist of items that you may have missed. These are for the steps starting around 3:30 in the video 1. Did you copy the mscomctl.ocx file to the correct destination folders? 2. When opening Command Prompt (cmd) did you right click on it and select "run as administrator"? 3. Was Command Prompt's active directory c:\windows\system32\ ? 4. Did you run the command by typing "regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx" without quotes of course and pressing enter? 5. Did it display a confirmation windows saying that it was successful at registering the dll?

No installation is required of NCS Dummy. It's inside the NCSEXPERT folder

The obd2 connector connector doesn't seem to be communicating with the car Im not sure if the driver installed correctly and not sure what to do next. I keep getting error codes ifh-006 and 0018 on my xp but have no problems on my windows 10. Is there and way we can communicate more directly?

Brandon Blinzler you can private message me on the forum. If it works on one computer and not another, I'd make sure the com port is configured correctly

CS Lee it is necessary. It is the basis and engine for running inpa and the rest of the programs. I suggest you either redownload it or make sure that the folder exists

Try connecting to the airbag module with inpa. If it doesn't work, you need to solder pins 7 and 8 on your inpa cable. Additionally, if your car is a 323/328, you need to use jumpers on the underhood obd port

@@flyhacking5830 my car is a 2004 e60 530d. I soldered pin 7 and 8 together but still no connection possible even with the airbag module in inpa. I have one of those clear see through cables and the led only turns red, never green. Could it be a cable problem? The two circles in inpa battery and ignition are solid black though. I wouldn't want to buy another cable and it turns out the problem is somewhere else 😕

Kas A ohhh. The E46 doesn't have a CAS. If you're thinking about crank angle sensor, that's not what CAS is in ncs expert. It's the new BMW entertainment system

FlyHacking I have a E82 not a E46. Just used your guide to install NCS expert. It should be the same way to install for E89 shouldn't it? I download E89 Datens maybe they are an old version.

Jushed Ahmed I couldn't update the sp-datens on your computer because the program that's needed opens up mikes BMW tools. For some reason, I guess your previous installation changed registry settings. In control panel, can you see the uninstall option for mikes BMW tools?

i guess it depends more on the HW you got - the cabel respectively. It definitely must be an OBD2 and you got to install drivers properly.

If your gm5 won't communicate, then most likely it's bad but software isn't perfect. It might throw error codes to point at whatever the issue is. I suggest you check out bmwgm5.com

FlyHacking i got them working, I had to copy the nfs file to /c: now the only thing is just just that e46 isn’t coming up as one of the profiles on inpa. I’m also confused in what USB port to use on my laptop. I’m a noob at this 😂 I’m sorry
