The information you guys are consistently putting out is seriously an American force multiplier. People are under valuing this free content exchange. Take notes homies: you’re gonna need this.
I bought the first combo from Arkayne. PG25/STINGIR 384 and I've had it for 2 weeks and absolutely love it. Thank you guys so much! I wore it for 4 hours Friday night and had no headaches or neck problems. 5 hogs down and about 2 miles walked, all in the darkness. Totally blown away!
I’d really like a pvs14+stinger option rather than the Nox 18 to add a middle of the road option for those who are budget conscious but still want something better than the pg 25.
The dimensions of the detector don't determine the resolution of a thermal - the pixel pitch does. You trade FOV with focal length and detector dimensions.
Please do a review of the pg25 I wanna get one over a pvs 14 gen2+ white phosphor device cause I like the size an price but I can't find any actually reviews of what it looks liek through it
I'm looking to add a STING IR 640 with my L3Harris Unfilmed WP pvs14. Super excited. Noisefighters however is currently looking to see If the STING IR can fir on their mk3 mount
@Arkayne I'm probably a few months out as I just bout the pvs14 and then a 1301 and some accessories.. so I gotta save back up for a bit. I'm just hoping the noisefighter mk3 does end up working.
I'm running that Mk3 right now with dual Elbit WP really happy with it so far.. I have a thermal clip on but shopping around for a MH25v2 or a 640 stinger
PD25 is basically designed by iRay...it utilises 16mm Chinese tubes produced on Photonis XD4 production line. The housing is OK, but the lenses are shit. However it's weight is incomparable.
Glass is definitely its weakness aside from lower specs. However they are 18mm tubes. Unknown origin. We’ve had these units apart during initial R&D, they’re very strong, stupid simple.
Not fragile at all, but it doesn’t “feel” as robust as the MH25, RH25, or NOX18. The RH25 and NOX18 have the durability thing on lock down. So if you’re extremely hard on gear in crazy environments, spend a little more and get the RL25, RH25, or NOX18.
Just getting into thermal w nvg duals and I'm just wondering how you use the thermal to hunt/shoot/aim if it's mounted to your helmet? I see that the NOX has reticles to choose from, but how would you use it with a rifle if it's mounted to your head?
Some thermals have Quick Disconnect mounts for the helmet and Quick connect mounts for the weapon. It is an option to wear one thermal on your helmet and then un clip it and fasten it to the rifle for taking a shot with the QD mounts.
If your wearing helmet mounted thermal than one is probably wearing helmet mounted NV as well so the thermal would just be for identifying targets and using either your active or passive aiming through the NV for actual shooting. Or like he says if it has both a helmet and pic rail mount than you could throw it on your rifle with the flip of a QD mount but I don’t think you’d be firing through the thermal if helmet mounted. Unless aiming passive I guess with an optic?
I don't know much of anything about this stuff so maybe the answer is obvious but how are the two displays merged? Or is it just one eye sees night vision and the other eye thermal and the brain overlays the two?
What I’ve learned from running many different thermals and night vision beside eachother is that no matter how you do it you’ll see double. What I do to function with both devices in front of my eyes is never try to look through both at the same time. Start by closing one eye and opening the other switching back and forth until switching back and forth becomes fast and effective without closing your eyes individually. Using one image at a time will become easier and more natural over time.
For those considering the RH 25 over the nox, don't. Having no internal shutter is superior because no internal moving parts means a much higher recoil rating (they've claimed 50bmg is good to go), more durability, less to go wrong, as well as not having the shutter close at an inopportune time. After 30 minutes of use you hardly ever have to nuk the device anyway. Also the rh 25 battery pack wire is ridiculous..10 feet of wire the size of a coax cable and crazy big adapter. Nox doesn't have rainbow mode but who cares. Also the Nox has slighlty better image quality. Made in USA and 200$ more, bomber company with fantastic cust serv. No clip on mode..who cares, use it as a scope it has reticles
No reason other than we haven’t had personal time with them yet. That will change and when we’re ready, we’ll discuss whether it’s a good option or not. for now we know the STING units are.
You need to be in the 1% that will have it. That’s why we launched the budget package. We just want to make this stuff as accessible as possible. Because even the STINGIR 384 puts you WAY ahead of someone with just nods, and light years ahead of someone with nothing.
@@holdencaulfield4291 You're still not going to beat thermal. Sure you can build a hide and beat it for awhile, but that's not permanent. The minute you move you're bright as day. The whole point of this video is to push the idea that you need both, and it doesn't have to be ridiculously expensive.
I wouldn't recommend Nox18 for helmet mount use. It is not a true 1x with no image adjustment and not one of the lightest thermals. Same reasons why it isn't considered for clip on use.
@@meanman6992 Then buy the US made shit. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything. Me? I'll buy the more budget friendly item, regardless of origin. Don't like it? Pay the difference. 😂
Does this video ever talk about the price? He talks about budget without naming price. I find this disingenuous and will def not buy from this shady company.
Prices fluctuate in the industry and we feel it is disingenuous to name a price in a video only for the price to be different on our website. Check our site for accurate numbers 💪🏼 If you have any questions or concerns, shoot an email to cs@arkayne.com
