*******About the NP 435*******
The NP 435 has a positive reputation as a heavy-duty trans. Chrysler (Dodge), Ford, GM (Chevy), and International Harvester used it in their line-up (1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1+ ton vehicles). It was even used in some industrial applications.
It's a popular transmission for rock crawling, and towing, due to the gearing of 1st gear (extremely low gear ratio)("granny" gear).
