THE BOAT: Scow Bow Mini-Cruiser. 14’ long (4.25M,) with a 6’ beam (1.8M,) and a draft of 2’6” (0.77M.) She features twin keels and a Ljungström rig. Every design decision is made to keep her simple, strong, and watertight.
In this episode I install a padeye in the deck locker and another one in the hatch cover to keep the hatch cover from being lost overboard. There will eventually be a line tied between the two. I fill the holes for the mainsheet hardware with epoxy, and install the mainsheet tube which passes through the main bulkhead into the cabin. I also cut out the deck locker hatch opening from the coaming deck panel, and epoxy together the 2 parts of the hatch cover.

It's been a long winter here already, on the Allegeheny Front. Boat shed completion work and sailing trips not happening. Your videos inspire me look forward to the work it takes for years of sailing ahead. (P-18 Surprise).

Hi I make a notched spreader using those zig zag scissors that ladies use for sewing etc (pinking scissors) and cut notched spreaders from plastic containers , much easier to use for glueing up, - carry on the build, looking great

Thank you. It's a boom-free rig. If you look at pictures of Baluchon it'll be mostly the same as his rig.
