Con lentitud poderosa has some motifs from Coalescence, the song that plays during the final stage in the previous game. I don't know where I read this, but I think it was Chris himself that described it as a "satellite song", because "You need the gravity of Coalescence to get the most out of Con Lentitud Poderosa". It's so good, and you should DEFINITELY listen to the two songs back to back sometime.

Risk of rain guitar always gets me into an old streets of rage mood. The game was an amazing surprise with great replayability with friends.

no way Heroes 3! what a classic game, played it to death even after the many sequels came out. It's a fantasy themed turn based strategy game, and what you're looking at (the rampart, which has the 'typical' fantasy creatures like elves, dwarves, unicorns), is one of the several types of castle/town you can control and build up, which isn't showing the main gameplay which is on a map. You have a 'hero'/heroes and go around exploring, collecting resources and building your army to defeat the other heroes. Or there are some specific quest related scenarios that are available as well. My father still plays it to this day, and he's 65 years old!

I think people like to see their love for their favourite OST's validated and that's why this content is so much fun. Idk anyway keep it up, videogame music deserves more respect. The sad last march into heaviness also perfectly fits Mythrix as a final boss.

Heroes of might and magic 3's music is worth making a deep dive video on it. In this game, there are various towns you get to control and they all have exceptional music associated to them. My favorite being Fortress, Stronghold and Necropolis. Check it out, it's worth it.

Con lentitud really is a painful sad walk. The level is just a bridge and ambiguous structures in the white void, up to the final arena, where you fight the "banished soul" type of character to escape the planet. Reminiscent of Dark Souls 3 Soul of Cinder and Gael fights. And in earlier versions the last level actually had no enemies and it was *just* the walk. Lonely, nostalgic, with a heavy drop to make you remember all the exciting times you had in your journey before this moment. Which is why the video shows several variations of the wallpaper with different environments.

Heroes of Might and Magic was one of the reasons I got into symphonic music as a teen in the early 2000s

When I was playing Risk of Rain 2 I thought the soundtrack was one big jam session until I found the individual songs on youtube.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 has absolutely magical music to go with each of the themed towns that game is engrained so hard into my brain, and risk of rain 2 oh man that soundtrack is just so powerful! Please check out more of these 2!

Paul Anthony Romero, the composer for Heroes is an amazing neoclassicist. His music from Heroes I-IV taught a whole generation to love classical music. He says Rampart theme was inspired by Armenian music (Preserve from IV, which is largely the same faction, continues that vibe)

You should listen to all the heroes III town theme, this entire OST is just the quintessence of what video game's composers could do in the 90's

Heroes of might and magic series, is a fantasy strategy one. A turn based one. Pure strategic. You could get to choose between a big variety of castles/races. Each played differently, different theme and kind of creatures in one's army. You also had spellcasting in combat. Combat was grid based like chess. It used to be one of the amazing highlights of the 90s when it came to pc gaming. Amazing games, bonkers good. The 2nd and 3rd of the franchise were pure perfection. You cannot imagine. I remember it was insanely popular in my friend cycles and we played them literally thousands of hours, never stopping. They were simply too good man. Otherworldly good. The music was pure heaven too. Memorable as hell, best years. The composer is insanely talented he did God's work in this series and is still playing these songs in orchestras. Amazing pianist too.

Fun fact about the Risk of Rain 2 song. It's the music that plays when you get on the moon to fight the final boss. And if you walk with no sprinting and speed items through the long hallway, the music drops just as you come out of it. So you saying "it was like a slow march" is quite accurate.

Would love to hear you react to more F-ZERO: X tracks, including the 64DD eXpansion ones. I personally agree when you say the drums own the ambience of the Fall Down to the Scream OST, it really carries the momentum and pacing of it.

Heroes 3 has one of the greatest soundtracks ever done for a video game... Rampart theme is one of the "mellowest" and non thematic in there, because the whole theme of the town is peace, harmony and nature. You definitely want to to make a deeper dive... the songs aren't long, but there's many of them. Each town has their own theme and they're the highlights of the soundtrack.

Wow, Heroes of Might & Magic is a franchise I've been playing for a really long time, from the first one! Nice you're covering III, that's considered the best of all. Awwright! Still here!

HYPED seeing a HOMM song on here. One of my favorite games from my childhood. Music was always amazing. Heroes 3 was the first true strategy game I spent a lot of time in that wasn't live combat. I started with Starcraft and Warcraft, and then my mom and uncle showed me Heroes 2 and 3 and I was in love. People still play Heroes 3 to this day and I watch it on Twitch.

Could hardly believe it when I saw Heroes Of Might And Magic in your thumbnail!! Love that series and not a bad one to look into on your gaming adventure!! I recommend Heroes 2 and 3.

you should go through more of heroes of might and magic 3 music ramparts is just 1 of 8 factions, each one has a very unique song, there are also several different combat songs, different environments when out of the towns have different songs as well. its a wonder they managed to get as much music into the game that also had such beautiful graphics for its time to be less than 400mb (that includes the prerendered campaign story cutscenes) in total size

I wonder what you might think of "A Placid Island of Ignorance" in RoR2's DLC. Barely any videos of reactions to it exist on YT, but it's an excellent track that matches being out of your depth in a alien Void of space. It also uses a slowed background motif from the Main Menu's theme, despite being music very close to the end of a run. A sly sound from where we start, heard once more just before the end. A echo of the past..

From all the Heroes music we got the most vanilla one. Welp hopefully there is more to come. Homm 4 grass theme or Death theme are great. Same as undead one for homm 3

Other 8 town themes from Heroes of M&M3 would be great! My favorite is Tower.

BTW, Hearing HoMM music makes me feel nostalgia. I remember how I played it in 9 years on dad's laptop. Necromancers are positively OP (First parts of HoMM weren't created by Ubisoft. Ubisoft bought series after the bankruptcy of 3DO. Ubisoft killed the series 😭)

Some comments incorrectly mentioned N64 not being CD quality. I believe N64 was capable of 48KHz/16bit. However, cart space necessitated that music was either reduced in quality, compressed, or done purely in a sound font. F-Zero X's particular issue was that the music on the cart is in mono. The 64DD upgraded version allowed stereo sound though.

I highly recommend Chris's Deadbolt OST as a follow up. Ashes to Ashes (to Ashes) probably to kick it off. I'd also recommend some stuff off of Battle Brothers.

That Risk of Rain track reminds me a lot of the title theme from Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness, once it gets going. At the beginning it reminds me of one of the Chopin Nocturnes, I can't remember the name of.

Hey Geebz I've been watching all your Minecraft play sessions and it's been great. I wanted to help ease your time with the stairs as I could tell chat was making your struggle worse with bad directions. My apologies for the novel. Stairs are hard because to get the one click placement it has to know what orientation to set the stairs, so to make it one clock it's dependent on 2 factors. Where you are standing relative to the block you're trying to place, and the location on the block you're pointing at with your cursor +. The easiest way to place steps is to point the cursor slightly higher than the center of the block that would be the floor under the step, or by facing the block that would be behind your stair block again a little above center. You're telling the game to place the block sitting the block on the floor to your front, or on the wall behind the step facing to you. When you are off to the side it thinks you want the block to wrap around like an end piece. Below center is to point down. If you're lower than the spot you want the step you'll click below the center of the front. Like a mirror or ricochet behavior.

you've gotta do something from Chaos Overlords, track 3 is great, or track 7 which is my fave. Its a great little cyberpunk themed startegy game from 1996 with a dark synth soundtrack that is so perfect and elevates the game which is fairly static and grid based, focused on a dystopian future where you're a gang trying to take control of the city against other gangs. i played the game CD just as a regular music CD it was that good, and I've not really heard anything like it even though I've been searching ever since.

Hey man if you're still looking for heavy video game tracks, I would recommend a song called Cosmic Decay from the game Valfaris. It's not a super well known one, but I think you'd enjoy it

One soundtrack I would love to see you react to is Terraria's soundtrack. I don't have any specific tracks I would recommend, because they all do their job in setting the mood and ambience for different areas of the game. I can only imagine there are many game soundtracks already on the list, but if we could have a long format video like you did for Minecraft, I think it would work flawlessly. Edit: I went to check your Twitch VODs, and found out you have some Terraria music over there! Though I don't think we've heard of the game here on the RU-vid channel, which I think should be fixed before long.

rampart is not even the best heroes of might and magic 3 town theme. The music in that game is a pleasant rabbit hole to dive into.
