I have 78 ramcharger with a 904 transmission doing something weird…it engages positively into D when you shift it into drive but I won’t move…it TRIES,but won’t. If you shift it to low 1,it moves fine. Of you manually shift it,it shifts positively and has all 3 gears…stop and you have to go back to low 1 and repeat. It’s full of fluid. Fluid is red. Doesn’t smell burnt at all. Ideas?
Since I have zero use for a 904, let alone a slant six one, I just stuck the hard parts in a box on the shelf and will probably pull them down in a decade and wonder why I have them.
It's probably an A413, which was based on the A904. The 904 was only rear-wheel drive, but the A413 was an automatic transaxle. Exactly how they changed, I don't know, but I suspect a 76 would be very similar.
@@YoshimoshiGarage got you, the colts came in rwd. the a413 is fwd. probably recent gen colts have the a413. i’m still convinced it’s a 904 in my 1976 colt. not sure why they’d call it a baby a904. my colt came with the 1.6l 4cyl
