Chris I hope you are enjoying your vacation, and wanted to thank you for the video. When you flipped them over, I thought I could see the handle through the Knot on the Simpson which would make the Omega a bit more dense, that being said they are both excellent brushes, and the Omega does bring multiple handle options. Now, are they worth almost 40 bucks more, well I think that is for each buyer to decide. I myself tend to stay below the 30 dollar mark for non custom synthetic brushes. Great video!!

The best Shave Brush on the market today is my Simpson Trafalgar's T-3, better then boar cheaper in the long run, it is 29mm. i mic-ed it' it's like buying a $443.99 Simpson 30mm Chubby 3 Super CH3S Badger Shaving Brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, NO SOAKING time ready to go, fast drying time, . will not fall apart like a Badger or boar hair can and it will fall apart at some point in time, no brake in time, affordable to buy, I have owned it for 5 Years with no hair loss with no problems. I own only One Shave Brush wheelchair Larry Happy New Years

Hey man, I didn't know bout this video! I am pondering on this Evo. Just curious does this have the issue of water draining out at the base of the knot? I only have two synths the AP shave co, I got from you and I have a Stirling synth, and it looses water at the base of the knot, (even while adding water into the bowl) but the AP shave co does not.

I think that Simpson's brush is a real bargain, and has great build quality. A real weighty hand-turned handle and a dense knot that doesn't shed a single hair. Has maybe too much backbone for me, I have a beard so i only shave my neck and applying the required pressure to splay it is a little uncomfortable on the neck.
@IAMCDB
@IAMCDB 4 года назад
I agree, it’s a pretty good value. It does have a fair amount of backbone so it’s certainly not a great option for folks looking to avoid it.
@ScottRLeslie

The Trafalgar T-3 is the best synth I’ve ever used. The only one I’ve used with backbone and soft tips. I won’t be shelling out nearly twice as much for the Evo.
@IAMCDB

I think they are similar enough that no one needs to shell out the money for the more expensive one if they don’t want to. I prefer the handle offerings of the Evo but both brushes are very good IMO.

Been debating whether to get the trafalgar or not, I have a chubby 2 and 2 duke 3 synthetics which I find to be very good but when it comes to simpson badger is what they do best. I'd pick my chubby 2 in best and chubby 3 in manchurian over any synthetic knot.
@IAMCDB
@IAMCDB 4 года назад
I’d say if you have newer knots in those models you’re probably good to go.
@AlegreDiaVolver

So it's just the handle? No difference as for performance wise - heat and water retention? I'm considering between these two plus Omega Roma(which looks even closer to the Trafalger).

I don't think any synthetic mimics badger or boar and I don't think it should. Synthetics are completely their own thing and it should stay that way. Each type of hair has their merits.
