Good video, as always! Thinking about selling my 124060 and getting this Seamaster 300M on a rubber strap. To be honest, like so many as I believe, I’m getting more and more fed up with the whole Rolex hype. I think it’s time to give the Seamaster a chance!

Would you like to see it? Me: That would be great, I'll be there this afternoon. AD: Perfect, you’re more than welcome! After showing me this model I didn’t have to think long, what a beautifull watch! Me: I want this watch! Is there a little discount possible? AD: Let me see, would you agree on € X Me: That’s a fair price, so yes we have a deal! In short: I got this beautifull watch the same day with no waitinglist and premium bullshit, a good discount and even a few goodies. Couldn’t be more happier at the moment!
7:46 I own that Seamaster for years now, done everything with it in terms of manual labour - no scratches of the AR-coating. Have it on the OEM Rubber - best choice imho. The stainless steel bracelet needs an update.
I completely agree. While the SMP300 never did it for me (owned it twice), I started gravitating towards other brands instead. I sold out of all my Rolexes and instead have started to pick up limited edition or rare releases from other brands such as IWC and Tudor. You get a lot of watch for your money and true watch enthusiasts (those you really want to kick tires with) recognizes a strong watch game.
I have had many dive warches over 20 years and still do, but i have two watches that are my favourites now, my Rolex Deepsea and fhe Blue Omega Diver 300 on the blue strap. I have fairly big wrists and never felt the Submariner was big enough and hated the Cyclops on the SD43, so fhe Deepsea works well for me. It is a beast and can be exhausting to wear sometimes but it is amazing and has huge presence. The SMP300 is a brillaint option for times when the Deepsea is a bit too much. I think people hate on this watch so much but i love it for the distinct featues it has: scalloped bezel, laser cut ceramic dial, Helium Escape value, lyre lugs etc. Its those elements that seperates it from the thousands of Rolex clones. I too have the original bracelet, the milanese OEM mesh and the strap and having all threes options gives me lots of different options depending on my mood Between the Deepsea and the SMP300 these two take up 95% of my wrist time. I really need to sell those other 25 watches gathering dust in my watchbox really Good review, i thought you nailed my thoughts exactly on this Omega.
Late to this but I'm a big fan of your channel. My collection is traditional: mostly Rolex, Breguet, PP, panerai, etc. But was traveling and on a whim bought the green seamaster diver on bracelet (ordered the strap): really really like it! The way I have been wearing it interacting with it I feel is more like the way people used to wear submariners in the 1950 60s and 70s: as a companion/tool watch and part of your active lifestyle, rather than as a fetish/signaling/investment object! Keep up the terrific insightful editorial comment!
I can relate to ur comment on trying Rolex’s and coming back to a more chilled watch like the SMP. I have bought and sold 14 Rolex’s and would say they are very common and over priced watches. I got fed up with the hype and now looking for a solid watch, at a reasonable price that doesn’t come with the unwanted attention. SMP is on the list.
I bought a white dial SMP 300 awhile back - really liked it, but when I Green OP 41 from my AD came in the SMP got sold. I've regretted parting ways with it since - the design language is dated imo, but it's still a fun , no-worries watch with an amazing movement. Might pick up another one if the right situation comes up. .
pretyy much the most reasonable outlook on the seamaster, and the whole watch culture of the moment. What you say about Rolex is true, and while i have one (explorer 2) and i would love a submariner, its a bit strange to be on waiting lists and treated with such stern-ness when you enter the store. I picked up a seamaster white dial on rubber and i love it, its true, you really begin to question how much better a rolex really is... dont get me wrong, i love the sleek profile, it feels like a supercar on your wrist... and generally its more versatile... but the seamaster is far better than i thoughtnit woud be. I was planning on selling it when i got a call for the sub, but i dont think i will.. its too unique, too much fun.. to easy going.. and doesnt have the same connotation as a rolex.. so illl have both.. but i gotta admit, i wonder if i even really need the sub at all.
So true, my new submariner is just not worn much, Omega 300 is just so easy on rubber and great daily driver and I love it. And yes your new orange rubber looks great, just visited the site and I like the green one.
Another cool video that resonates. I love my 2007 SMP they really are made to be worn’n torn everyday without any baggage. My hope is they will re-introduce the older wave like on the new 60th anniversary that was just released. Enjoy!
Having a watch of a great quality but where you don't stressed about is a great feeling. Regardless of what price point you are comfortable about, this one should be your one watch collection, if we weren't so mad about all things watches. Mine is a Sinn 556a.
Feel the same way..... I own several Rolex pieces. Never owed an Omega but really like the look of and want to experience the SMP. Edging towards the blue dial. Dont see it as a stepping stone
100% agree mate. I’ve had the white SMP for a few years, still craved a batman. Finally got one and was meh with it pretty quickly. Esp being on a business meeting and 2 guys at the table are wearing the same watch 😂 which happens. Gone back to the SMP and also got the Seamaster world timer. Way prefer wearing em these days
Great video man! I have the same smp on the bracelet but I also have the oem rubber with deployant. It’s a great watch and can be a beater and also be dressed up with the bracelet (which I actually like). I kind of feel like getting a orange strap now 😂
Love the SMP300. I have the quartz Bond version from late 80’s I think. It was my first luxury watch. Thinking of pulling the trigger on the green version before the price rise. Had a call from the AD saying they have one for me. Must decide this week, thoughts?
Great video and perspective. I have had mine for 2 years on the buckle strap, wear it everyday, and it still looks brand new. The Omega 300m, gives you a worry free, simple luxury feel. I see other watches and appreciate them from afar, but deep down I know that my loyalty to the SMP only increases with time. It is the ultimate alpha watch, unafraid, able to withstand damn near anything, and not concerned with stuffy, weak sauce opinions. Just keeps ticking ⏱️
I don't like straps because they leave marks on the wrist. I prefer to let my wrist breath so I where my watches like a cuban link bracelet and so on. My watches can almost do a full spin around my wrist. Lol

You know what it is Michael? You have realised that Rolex is a monumental wank. I have one and if I'm true to myself I have to admit that I enjoy the Speedmaster more than my all black GMT.
