The video for ‘Lose Yourself’ is thanks to Kasey’s fans in the audience on the final show of her recent Behind The Barricades tour. After much demand from fans to release the live performance and noting so many cameras in the air, Kasey asked fans to send through any footage they had filmed. The result is a perfect time capsule of how a great song, performed authentically from the heart can bring a room of strangers to connect in such a powerful shared emotion.
Hey Guys Just wanted to say how much Ive been enjoying your appreciation of Aussie Talent and thought that I would extent your collection by another very well-known artist down here Kasy chambers is a country artist that is hugely popular and has had a lot of success over the years in the industry but every so often strays into other lanes of music. I hope that you enjoy this as much as I did when I came across it on RU-vid I kind of think this is going to get some traction take care and enjoy

My take....is that this is no longer an Eminem song. In fact, he may own a time machine...he saw Kasey do this, then went back in time to record his version before hers... This deserves to become a world wide hit, it is THE best thing I've heard in the last 20 years.

Remember this in not cut in a studio, it was performed live. Rap must have twice the lyrics that a normal rock/country song does. Kasey needed the well deserved breath at the end of this performance. When the crowd is silent for the last song of a concert, you know you have them.

Awesome reaction! Saw this live in Brisbane and will never forget it. The crowd was SILENT and electric. I was on the edge of my seat and had goosebumps the entire song. Was absolutely magical.

The point being...just because it's on her Spotify doesn't mean Em has even heard it, let alone "allow" it. I've never been much of a country music fan so I haven't heard much of Kasey Chambers music, but holy cow, she absolutely nailed this song and brought out such emotion as the music changed with the drama of the lyrics. It was incredible and she makes me proud that we have such great artists here in Australia! I think I'm going to have to go and read the lyrics a bit more closely. That was truly amazing!

We Aussies are so used to Kasey and her country music and i must add some great songs like "Rattlin bones", "Am I Not Pretty Enough" and "The Captain". She wasn't getting much airplay until she hit them with "Am I Not Pretty Enough". Now, I have just recently seen this and just like you, I was blown away by this performance. I'm very jealous of the people who were in the audience for this live performance. Wathced it a number of times now and appreciate your reaction....

Kasey's version actually has better character progression. Eminem's version builds to the chorus every time to get you to move and gets you pumped. Her version builds throughout the song - starting weak and scared, gaining confidence and then finally defiant and "nothing is going to stop" type of attitude. Truly beautiful and I have to say, not since Johnny Cash did Nine Inch Nails' song Hurt have I even considered saying a remake is better than the original but Kasey is right there with this.

Thanks for doing this one! Kasey is very under appreciated and needs to be recognised more! Kasey is a master of storytelling, conveying lyrics and emotion! She is just getting better as she gets older. I really hope that Eminem has seen this and appreciates that his song and lyrics were re-imagined in such a spectacular way. Where else would you see banjo, pedal steel guitar and rock band together? ❤ BTW… that was Kasey’s Dad Bill on the steel guitar.

I grew up in Barmera (was born there) and Barmera had the second biggest country music festival with the first being Tamworth (back then). I was a teen in the mid 80s and Kasey's family formed the Dead Ringer Band. Mum, dad and brother played instruments and backup vocals and Kasey played guitar/banjo as well as being lead vocalist. I am not a huge country fan, but I liked them, thought she had a beautiful voice, so it did not surprise me when she became known here in Australia. She has stayed true to herself only difference is the experience and maturity that makes her a true aussie icon. Becky Cole and Troy Casserdaly also woud play at barmera

To add to this, the Civic Theatre in Newcastle NSW, is an old but small theatre. An intimate theatre, even in the cheap seats you still feel like you are listening to an artist in your living room. And,, the Civic is a very beautiful classic theatre, which enhances the artistic performance.
