This was, in my humble opinion, a class A+++++ comedy. No obscenity, no insult or humiliation of another person, many complex and thought provoking twists and turns of the mind, and most successful elevation of the heart and elicitation of belly laughs all around. Thanks Omid for a most intelligent comedy delivery.
I once served him in a bank that I worked in. Absolute gentleman, he was so chuffed that I recognised him and did'nt ask for ID when he cashed a cheque.
I think it's based off an old joke, something like "My grandad was telling me about these new memory pills he takes. He told me "They're really good, i can't remember what they're called. What's the name of that flower? With red petals?" "A gyranium?" "nono, the other one, with the horns" "A Rose?" "that's it..a rose...ROSE??? WHAT ARE MY MEMORY PILLS CALLED?"
I immediately thought how that joke could translate into Czech...and I'd use řůže/Růža (rose/Rose - that's the only plant-based name that works in Czech. Not Ivy, Petunia...not even Margaret.)
To be a distinguished comedian is one thing, to perform like that in less than 7 minutes coming up with something which could be watched over and over again making you laugh each time, is another thing!
We spent 10 years looking for Bin Laden. We scoured 27 countries looking for Bin Laden. We spent £2 Billion Pounds looking for Bin Laden, Where did we find him?? IN HIS HOUSE
Haha lol yeah should've guessed that....he ain't a Pakistani but we shoulda guessed that Haha... he was trained by the us but we shoulda guessed that hahahaha
shahmir zaman dude, he was literally next to the US military base in Pakistan, (like a mile away) and next to the Peshwar military training academy (like Pakistan’s west point). Also the Pakistani military created the Taliban which, though not the Al-Queda (which Osama was the leader of), was still a major ally. Moreover Pakistan consistedly funded the Taliban who were often contained to have funded the Al Queda. Not to mention that the US armed the Mujahadeen, who then splintered into the Al Queda, who then splintered creating a civil war that Najibullah lost. Moreover, the Afghans were fighting communists and asked for help in defending against the Soviet advanced. If the US had not provided support, the nation would have been blamed for its inaction in allowing for the rise of a different type of totalitarian regime. Lastly, in terms of why it was obvious he was in Pakistan and in that location was that his house was always guarded with armed men, it was the largest house not just in the town but also in the entire peshawar region, and it was often reported for its incredibly suspicious activity.
@W SMYTHE BATES asshole, you have been in Afghanistan for 30 years, still couldn't win the war. USA govt is has caused so much suffering in so many countries
He couldve been big if he had more jokes but as I've watched almost everything he has online it was all same jokes repeated over and over again nonetheless great jokes and I like him alot but it's like Arie Spears, same damn jokes every set since his youth.
Truly fascinating Mr. Djalili, humor is a universal language... it allows me to see the lighter and brighter part of Iran when all the rest of the world says otherwise! Let us celebrate humanity!
From nothing to being personally selected by British royalty, yet he remains humble and has never sold out. Rare breed. Bravo Sir. As highly as you're rated, you're still underrated.
I think I watched this 20 times and i still rolling on the ground laughing . Well done great performance , lovely character, clean and meaningful jokes
As an Iranian myself, I can confirm this really is what it's like being Iranian. I applied for a visa to visit two years ago and the application was denied because I have British and Iranian nationality xD I love Omid sm, he is not afraid to make light of the political situation we are all in. That is the kind of humour we need sometimes
This man is not just a stand up comedian. He is also a brilliant serious actor. I am thinking of the one-man play (written by his wife Annabel Knight) 'A Strange Bit of History'. I will never forget this performance.
@@ahmedetemadi3434 Oh gosh - it must have been in the early 90s - 1994/5 maybe? Shortly after KOMEDIA in Brighton opened in Manchester Street in 1994 - it must have been in the first or second year of its existence.
@@ahmedetemadi3434 Yes - it was quite brilliant. I now also remember seeing his comic act the evening before - when I just happened to walk into the venue, and having a free evening, went to see Omid's show. I knew nothing of him, so I just took a chance. I was so impressed that I came back the next evening to see the play. Some things leave a deep impression. You asked why it was so good: It is a one-man play - but Omid's skill to move from one character to the other is remarkable. It felt as if I were watching a play with many different actors. The timing, too, was impeccable.
OMG thank God. After a long time , probably months of searching funny stand ups I actually find someone really funny who resorts to humour without nonsense and not so much swearing .
Spot on, flawless impeccably classic...the old guy not only forgot where he went for his holiday but even forgot his wife's name too...and how tactically he tries to remember her name😆😆😆
Every time I see this brilliant man, I like to get snuggled up under a blanket and just drift away to a better place. Superb delivery! Not one bad joke!
It gets me there every time with all the new re-watching I get up to after any small brief duration. This man is beyond funny when some serious jokes just sneak up on you and you realise you hadn't internized them all with that excellent performance that ties down the delivery. It hurts sometimes when this happens
With all due respect, can’t you just shut the f@&k up and enjoy the comedy and keep your stupid opinion about other countries to yourself???? Thank you
I have lost count the number of times I have watched this, and every time it gets better and better !! Superb timing and phraseology. The best is about the delphiniums.
Omid Djalili is great , simply a wonder. Most of all we are profoundly happy and amazed with Prince Charles and his wife's simplicity . If only if Prince Charles would have the absolute monarch of Britain , we would see a far better Britain .Lots of Love from Dhaka Bangladesh.
Last time I watch this video was last week, first time I watch this video was nearly 2 years ago, within last 2 years God knows how many times I have watch this video anytime I watch it seem it's a first time I am watching it:))
watched it over 50 times and I still find it extremely funny. this bit should be shown in acting, writing, whatever schools they got for this profession
Binguh Bungah, shut it, just because the Government is unreliable and can't get it's thumbs out of it's arse, doesn't mean that Brexit was a bad idea. It was rather a great idea. Sure it's not a good idea on short sight but if we look 20 possibly 30 years ahead it is splendid. Although it leaves Britain with less of a chance to fuck up Europe, but how I see it, we're pretty much fucked ourselves so hard right now, but it will probably get better, when every sane person has moved to the Visegrad 4, and we can let the rest of the lunatics in Europe to die out of their retardation.
Georgina Lewis, Comedy does not necessarily need to align with ones political views for one to find it funny, I'm as far right it's possible, also known as being a reasonable human being with an understanding of how the world functions, but I still like some dumb jokes even told by people I would have personally killed due to being a harm to society, humor is above politics, and if one can not see from another persons perspective, then one needs to broaden ones views so one can help others through salvation, and help them ascend from lowly monkeys to men.
