@@harrypottersnumbrfan I mean I’m not defending what he did but he did think that Keith tried to murder him in the fire. That’s why he also attacked Lucas although he should’ve said sorry or thanks to Lucas for saving him
Probably one of my favorite moments in the series. Lucas and Peyton fighting for each other. Showing how twisted Dan really can be. Its a very raw and honest part in the show.
I love how protect Lucas is of Peyton. Even here when they were just friends. He has this natural instinct that he have to protect her. ''This is a family matter, you'll understand if you had one.' BAM Lucas.
I hate how people just focus on his relationships and the bad things he did like there's more to his and Peyton's characters then always hooking up and breaking Lucas's relationships with other girls.
Even though it was mainly due Dan murdering Keith, I have a feeling that this is one of the reasons ( besides Lucas' actor not being available) he didn't go to the hospital when Dan was dying.
He wouldn't have cared but would've tried to keep you quiet. Plus, I wouldn't want to mess with a guy whose willing to choke out his own son and kill his own brother. That and willing to screw over everyone and ruin their lives. Like he sexually assaulted Karen (kissed her with permission) and physically assaulted Luke, Peyton, Nathan, Keith, and others probably. He was willing to hire someone to pretend to fall in love with his brother, he swindled his brother out of his business that he enjoyed and when Keith becomes an employee there, he makes his life hell, etc.
So do I. Keith was my favorite character on the show. He was the heart and soul in people's lives including Lucas'. When he died, everyone's lives changed forever and Dan had to live with that regret for as long as he live.
As soon as Dan randomly appeared and said "What secret is that? I think you should leave now. Lucas and I have some unfinished business", warning bells were going off in their heads . I like how Lucas was defending Peyton and trying to get her to safety first even though he knew he was in some serious trouble. Good on Peyton for not leaving him there alone with Dan. With that deadly look in Dan's eyes I wouldn't have left Lucas either. Lucas saved Dan's life and Peyton saved Lucas's life.
Lucas says to Peyton "Peyton you should go" and after they try to leave and he walks in front of them Lucas puts his hand in front of her and after Dan says "this is a family matter you'd understand that if you had one" and he pushes her down and Lucas punches him while saying "son of a bitch" Yeah even as just friends you can see how much he's still in love with her and I think he kind of knew that too he just couldn't act on it because of Brooke.
I'd say a bit of both. They always knew on some level deep down they were in love with one another but they had to build on their friendship post Season 1 which they did in the span between Season 2 & 3 as they became close friends during that time. But like I said, their love and history was always there. As Lucas says to her in 3x01 "It's always gonna be there isn't it? you and me?"
he did wat a true friend would do if dan pushed brooke he would of punched him too if haley got pushed by dan lucas would of punched dan i disagree with you saying he wouldn’t do that for brook and haley but i do agree he always loved her deep inside where he was in denial and he loved brooke also
I honestly was waiting for him to do evil things later in the show. I wouldn't be able to forgive him. That and when he convinced people that Luke was crazy for accusing Dan of murdering Keith. The police station scene when Luke tried to report the murder still gives me chills. That and when Dan shot Keith. Also, when Dan was trying to get to Nathans family after he got out of prison. That and when he knew Lucas shouldn't have been playing in that one game with how bad his shoulder was injured but made him play anyways risking him to injure it even worse. There's just so many scenes with him where he just creeped me out because of his behavior even though he's a dilf.
Because for Nathan Dan is his dad the man who raised him good bad right or wrong it took Dan actually dying for them to really forgive him and that was because he rescued Nathan.
@brightheartlover19 I viewed it differently. A weaker person would have let Dan die. A strong man would have saved his enemy even though they are their enemy; it shows Lucas's strength as a human being. Dan's morals and views of people have always been flawed.
It's not so hard to believe that once he kills his own brother for the same reason. (I know Keith's died after that, but I never doubt Dan was capable to do that.
My sister keeps saying Lucas should forgive Dan, not because Dan deserves it, but because hatred and bitterness are like poison. Personally, I can't imagine how you could forgive a man like him. You watch a scene like this one, and it's like Dan's actually encouraging hatred. Poor Lucas. And then you have to wonder if he feels responsible for Keith's death, considering he saved Dan from the fire. It doesn't seem fair.
I mean, if you're gonna forgive someone, forgive them for yourself. Then when Karen blamed him for Keiths death. Honestly, if Nathan hadn't texted Keith, maybe then he would still be alive.
It’s not Nathan’s fault at all. He did the right thing trying to text someone to save all of them. How the heck was Nathan supposed to know Dan was gonna be crazy and kill Keith. Even though Dan was the villain killing Keith did kinda seem a bit out of character for him. Like you knew he and Keith didn’t get along and that Dan was jealous especially cause Keith was gonna marry Karen and adopt Lucas but you never thought he’d go that far as to kill Keith.
im not a leyton shipper but i loved in this scene how peyton was trying to stop dan from choking lucas i know halie would of done the same but i jsut think peyton did a good thing
i always thought dan is more complicated than people give him credit for. i don't think he was going to kill lucas nor he doesn't love him. i think dan has always loved lucas as much as nathan. but too proud to admit. just torn between his dream (basketball and college) and love (karen), two son, two woman, his arrogance has never let him turn from his mistakes. just like "stronger man would". i pity him and people like him.
Its so sad when Dan says 'a stronger man would have' I hate Dan I mean its like would it kill you to just keep your mouth shut for once and be an actual dad for once
To be clear, deb was the one who started that fire. And dan accused keith of doing it. Why? Because he was jealous of his brother for always being the 'better' one.
I know this is crazy but I've always thought that Dan loved Lucas in some twisted sort of way. I felt like he loved Keith too but the hatred that he chose to put out was too strong. He eventually became a better person but imo Lucas or Karen could never forgive Dan simply because he took away her daughters father, the man she loved, and the man who stuck by her when times got hard.
I think he let anger and jealousy get the better of him. Dan didn't really start hating Keith until he walked into the hospital and saw Keith holding Lucas in his arms. That and when he tried to get into Lucas's life as a baby, Karen wouldn't let him. It's kinda hard to tell if he does care or not because he taunted Lucas about his heart condition, made Nathan see Lucas as the enemy when he joined the team, etc. He did save his life in the car accident scene though and I think he would've left him for dead if he didn't care about him. Reminds me of the relationship I have with certain people in my life tbh.
OMG! -I thought I was the only one who felt that way, but truer words were never been spoken!! -It IS Deb's fault -the only difference between her and Dan, is Dan's murder attempt was successful -he at least felt guilty after wards, but Deb NEVER felt sorry about what she did to Dan, not only that -let's not forget when she slept with Keith -it's like what Dan said, "I pulled the trigger, but you loaded the gun." -I LOVED when Dan said that to Deb.
@@boomds5602 Dan was definitely not a good guy. But Keith's death was not just one person's fault. Dan was broken and I felt bad how when he changed and redeemed himself not a lot of people really let him.. I know he caused hurt but he was hurting too. Think about it there was Keith with his first love then he saw Keith with his wife. Like damn bro - literally lol situation was heartbreaking
Actually Dan DID go to the police when he thought Keith had tried to kill him, and Keith didn't act completely innocent -it obviously wasn't Keith's fault, but he SHOULD have pretended at least to be more sympathetic and taken it more seriously. -The person who I really blame is Deb... -And actually I HAVE seen a change in Dan, -what about the time he saved Lucas' life in season 1 -or all the times he recently saved Jamie? -Even Jamie wants people to forgive Dan and I agree
Dan is an ass. I have no pity for him in the later seasons; he ruined and attempted to ruin so many people's lives his whole life, just because he has begun to grow a conscious doesn't mean that people should automatically forgive and forget. I mean, not many fathers actually try to kill their sons, and then kill their brother.
Even before he killed him, he ruined Keiths life. There was a reason why Keith was mad at him the night of the fire and why he had bought a gun to kill Dan until Deb talked him out of it. It was just after the thing with Jules.
Lucas did the right thing saving Dans life the only thing is Dan is scared of showing his a more softer vunerable side even in front of his own son. Dan saved Lucas's life in season one and wanted to make it up to Lucas in season two. In Lucas heart he knew he could not let Dan die. Dan conflicted soul and his ultimate nightmare of Karen and their child seeing him as weak drove him to be a monster.
It's no excuse at all really, though i can't blame dan for being angry about it, but he should of gotten proof, it's wrong to kill anyone out of assumptions as you can't take it back once it's done.
Yeah, but Lucas is a hero and every hero needs a villain... or something like that... Anyway, I don't think the show has enough of Dan, at least not anymore.
"In for some action" ewww I just noticed this line wtf Dan is so sick in the head This is number 6899975 Lucas (or anyone) should never forgive him EVER #1 being killing his brother
dan didn't kill lucas he choke him peyton told dan that he didn't try to kill you he try to save you and at the end dan has a heart and said thats the man would of as in lucas was the last guy who ever saved dan's life and lucas run away which is bad thing to do he should of called the ambulance so dan can be in hosipital
Well yea, what else would you call it when someone wraps their hands around your neck and won't let go?? Any longer and he could've been hospitalized or died.
I hate dan I really really do but you can't blame this on him do you really think he will actually kill his own son just because he killed his brother and I mean keith he's too scared thinking lucas killed him but he saved dan he just so upset whats killing him dan saw his flashback when he let go of lucas now dan believe and trust lucas because lucas told dan the side of story that he was there but didn't try to kill him he rescue him how do you feel when you are scared and upset
@mstanley1492 In the first series where Nathan calls him a 'bastard', and he lunges on him and hits him.. I think it was for Peyton aswell, cus he was anoyed she was with Nathan
@MarchOfTheNerd totaly agree!! Actually i feelt sorry for Dan in season 4. It was very sad that he tried to hang himself. Becuse he tried hard to fix his problem! ;( I love Dan and Jamie to! they are so cute :)
yeah i think i agree with that... he has never really done anything bad... he is just always there to save everyone... it isnt really a bad thing but it does get kinda old...
@hotbabe2471 Of course I do, if a man would kill his own brother why wouldn't he kill his own son who he has absolutely no bond with?...he may know that biologically the son is his...much like in the 1800's where slave owners would rape their slaves and impregenate them...however knowing someone is your son does not mean you wouldn't harm them
