I'm back at Camden Market knocking up these deep fried pieces of onion deliciousness. They're my Onion Bhajis - an Indian snack that goes perfectly with my homemade Mango & Yoghurt dip. They're mega delicious, but what would you pay for them? Leave a comment and let me know.

I have never made these, but I feel like they should have fried longer on lower heat - or alternatively the onions could be sweated for a couple of minutes before mixing them with the batter, just to take off a bit of the raw edge. The dip looks incredible though.

haha.. this is onion pakora.. we call it kanda bhajiya here in mumbai.. and bhaji means any vegetables fried or gravy which is served with rice or roti (indian bread).. and ya there is no such language as "indian", we speak hindi.. the people of india are called indian..
@thecaffineman
@thecaffineman 5 лет назад
Well not just Hindi there are over 700 different dialects in india and 22 different languages. Bit ignorant of him to say 'in Indian' tbh

Yes. North Indians call this pakora's but they usually contain vegetables other than onion as well. Note: Pakora is pronounced as "pakoda" and bhajji as "bhu- (bu sound in burritos with the h emphasized) -ji"
@itsmevanilla3244
@itsmevanilla3244 8 лет назад
You are right. But bhaji is not pronounced the way you have written (Im pure indian). Food Busker pronounced it correctly.

Im so sorry but bhaji does not mean fritter.. pakora is a fritter. The recipie you showed was nowhere near a real bhaji. It is a good pakora recipie anyways. A bhaji is like a type of curry.
