@@sleepyjoe9267 Djokovic and Nadal are lucky to be younger and still be playing in this weakest ever era, and that the whole sport was changed to suit baseline grinders.
No one will ever play with such elegance as Federer Skill and style unbeatable Kyrious has talent Novak has ability Nadal has endurance But Federer has class above all other's
"Nadal has endurance" LOL as if that's Nadal's only quality. If endurance were his only quality, Ferrer (a player with A+ endurance) would also have 22 Slams. Nadal has a magnificent forehand with a unique top spin motion, lethal everywhere but especially on clay, has a rocket solid backhand, produces great drop shots, high class volleyer (including an outstanding "no-look" 360º degree volleyer), majestic running forehand and a superb "banana shot". It's also notewrothy to mention his great return abilities, as well as his all-surfaces game which allowed him to become the ONLY player in the history of the Open Era (along with Novak) to achieve the Double Career Grand Slam (winning each Slam event twice).
When Federer was on his game, he played at a different level especially on hard and grass. I'm gutted Roger's retired because I know we'll never see another player like him again. He's a total one off in his talent levels and the way he made tennis look so easy with his unique brand of attacking tennis. It's great to watch these classic matches of Fed as it is a reminder of how good he was.
more slams and if it is not enough for you Nadal is the one who has a positive record agains Federer in H2H sorry mate, against facts there are no arguments. So, if a player beat me more than I beat him and he won more championships importants than me HOW CAN I BE BETTER THAN HIM? LOL
Not the goat in stats, but definitely the goat in skillset. The variety of skills he has is just so entertaining to watch. You can never know what he is going to hit next. Absolutely refreshing
@@slam5this is why most pros mention Federer as the one out of the big three that they wanted to play the least. They all talk about how Federer doesn't let you play and makes them feel horrible about their game. Federer at his best was unmatched, but that otherworldly level that he possessed is next to impossible to keep up over an entire career lol
@@TheTamrielDrunkard Federer in his prime/peak when he goes to that 5th gear... you can forget who is on the other side. Unless it is Roland Garros Nadal, it does not really matter. That is why people were calling him GOAT even before he broke the slam record.
Fed was playing so sharp in 2012, from AO till Cincinnati he may have played with the best forehand of his career, right up there with the 04-07. Don't know why, but with this raquet he was striking the ball incredibly flat and hard, but at the same time even more effortlessly than usual (for him). Delpo must have had nightmeres of playing with roger in those months: AO, Rotterdam, Dubai, IW... at least he got his revenge at the end of the year.
@@gabrielgreff5911Federer was not a player on court he was an artist.........no one can play so effortlessly like him......every other guys just use their power......nothing great about their games.........sorry but Federer is more than GOAT.........
At 0:28, the way he slows down his run and takes a larger step to make sure he connects well to the ball - just pure 100% tennis instinct! Best player to hold a racket.
Seeing Roger Federer play live was an absolute privilege. Such a genius. Such a genius. And he plays these otherworldly shots and just walks away with an expression that would give you no idea that you have just seen something that no one else has been and will ever be able to do. I’ll stop here because there’s so much to say and it’s almost impossible to come up with the words to say it.
1 of my highlights from my old life was accidentally meeting Fed at Palm Springs practice cts b4 he was famous! He was by himself but when I asked his name I remember him as the 1 that knocked out Sampras from Wimbledon. I thought, maybe I'll c more of him. Little did I realize.
When he is confident on his shots, he gets into God mode. Breathtaking attack on opponents confidence. At the same time in GrandSlams he gets into some calculated mode & ends up losing confidence on his shots.
Federer is the one to get me to watch tennis again! You are so graceful and inspiring! I'm already older than you, but I'm learning to play better, more accurately and beautifully!
Hardly surprising though, is it? I mean, who in any any other individual sport, let alone one as physically demanding as tennis, has been simultaneously both that sport's most inventive shotmaker and its greatest aesthetic practitioner? Fed is tennis incarnate, born to play and elevate the sport that is tennis.
Federer had a back injury in 2013, which seriously affected his game. He knew he was injured before the match with Nadal, yet he didn't say anything and decided to play it, because people were looking for the match. That's what Federer used to do. Even when he knew his condition was not good, he patiently played till the end and accepted the inevitable loss, didn't withdraw or retire like many other players used to do.
In the super bowl of tennis tournaments, Wimbledon, Federer still holds the record at 8 titles and leads Djokovic at the second biggest tournament, the US Open, 5-3. Federer numbers make him the GOAT
GOD of Tennis His Legacy would not ever be matched nor compared by any logic means. Others can voice speculate or argue in the wind because that s what it is After peRFection the rest is just the rest at best
My dad was a cricketer in 'the old days' and he used to tell me that good bowlers would place a threepenny bit (that's how old I'm talking :) ) on the pitch so that they could aim at it when practicing. I asked him once, why not use a 'half crown' (the size of a modern British 50p piece) and he said it was too big. So that's how accurate the ball placement needed to be. Obviously the same with RF, but I doubt he uses threepenny pieces, more like a pinpoint.... :) :)
Nadal had to be thinking “I bully this guy around on clay no problem, what’s going on here?”. So rare for anyone to have a discernible edge over Nadal, on any surface.
@@superx1457 He never beat Fed 2.0 after ‘14, except for stopping him at RG, where Fed never beat him. The bigger backhand, and whatever else, was hurting Rafa.
@@tennnis498 suddenly tennis doesn't matter after 2014. Fedfans then give the usual age excuses to his 0-6 in GS after 2012 Vs Djokovic in GS. Funny how he's such a grandpa Vs Djokovic but Nadal give him some youth elixir
Novak not only brake Federer’s record in GS, everywhere he get Federer ! And still Novak played the highest lvl of Trnnis EVER ! go on ultimate tennis statistics !!! NOVAKS ELO IS THE HIGHEST😅
@@DrMrPersonGuy novak ELO is the strongest, Sepras was at the end of his career… NOVAKS era won more GS than Federer’s !!! More Master1000 titel In Novak’s era !!! Novak also played the most games against TOP10players!!! Huwitt and Roddick ? Are you kidding me hahahahaha
To be fair, he didn't underestimate DelPo in USO 2009. DelPo played in beast mode and literally forehanded Federer out of that final. I watched it live (on TV) and was in disbelief.
He may not have the most majors, but he reached the highest level I have ever witnessed. To the point where he embodied tennis like no other ever did or likely ever will.
Like you, I also think the best of Federer would have beaten Djokovic at his best. The best of Federer was clearly behind him after 2010 - he did produce flashes of brilliance still after that but nowhere near the consistency. Djokofans will argue it's because of their man but seriously his best was when he was in his mid-20s. It will never be a fair comparison because of a 6 year gap. The field is so much weaker in the last 5 years. 2 guys in their mid 30s still dominating the field. Arguably much weaker than Federer's time.
Love Fed and will miss him but if you appreciate this level of all court mastery you should watch some Sampras highlights, especially from '97-'99. You could start with the vid on here called "A Collection of 2nd Serve Aces." haha
I remember when I was a kid, my father and I just to watch Federer games and when he started playing like a monster, we would say that he activated "bulldozer mode". And that's what he just did to Delpo on this match, he flattened him out lol
The rise of the fall was when nadal started feeding off federes backhand and put him mentally in in a place where he never was. He started doubting his game but till 2010 only nadal was the only man Federer was worried about. Then Novak started cashing in, courts became slower and slower, his small racquet did not help. A confident Federer was somewhere lost when playing against these 2.
One thing I can never understand is that players don't lob over their opponent when they're standing face to face at the net. It's a no-brainer, yet they try to pass the guy. Obviously at 00:32 Del Poptro should have lobbed across court and Federer would have had to run for his life to retrieve the ball. When I play competitive tennis I almost always lob the guy in that situation, yet the professionals seem to lack that perception. Bizarre.
i've seen their entire careers and what you are joking it's actually true. Those games with Roger and those impossible balls Rafa "catched" came at a great cost..
One question ? How then in Head to Head games Novak Djokovic have advantage against Federer and Raffa Nadal ( if they are better ) ? Eye test is important in figure skating , jumps on water , gymnastics but not in tennis . Level ...against Del Potro ? Ok .
Beautiful play by Federer in this tournament, that deadly serve and FH combo, poor Delpo, glad Federer destroyed Nadal and Isner though Wow some of those quick service holds by Federer...lol Nadal the slowpoke needs that much time between 1st and 2nd serves
They won more (just 1 and 2 more slams at the moment). But there isnt a single chance they will ever be able to produce a tennis like that, or just hold the racquet the way he does. Not even close, facts.
Del Potro has weak returns in this video. If you only focus on Federer then of course this looks Godly. But the opponent was just weak too in this video
Roger had a very spoiled up bringing and armchair tennis players oogling over the marketing job.. it reflected in his play agaisnt Nadal/djoki he only won 33% of their GS matches over his career and was only 4 of 14 in GS finals agaisnt them. Fedsqaush game was very weak mentally along with his weak backhand where he lossed to djoki 3 times in a row at Wimbledon finals on his supposed best surface and with the crowds on his side too...Couldn't even Nadal once at French..Fed's game never evolved same old sqaush style that he got the goldilocks era 2003-2009 where he won 15 slams in a very Low level Era.. The only true ambassador and statesman to the game of tennis is Djoki who post match speeches are very articulated as with Fedsqaush it is very empty/simple as he bumbles through but he did Sell lots of running shoes and watches
Too bad you are all too young to have witnessed the level of tennis of Mc Enroe, the Genius, not playing with those supersonic rackets who have destroyed the game.
Not to anyone dude. When djokovic retires, he will be forgotten much sooner as his videos aren’t interesting, sorry that’s the truth. Federer’s on the other hand is like history, will stick on.
@@saratchandradeevi dont say anyone. Djokovic has a lot of fans, including me. I will never forget how Djokovic times and times again shut up the biased crowd coming from matchpoints down
Djokovic was overrated and piled up Grand Slam victories at the unimportant Australian Open. Nadal was not better than Federer when not playing on Clay.
