@Sorken.1994 I don't like the 2005 one either idc if it's closer to the book because although the 1971 isn't close to book I still enjoy that one more also a movie adaption of a book doesn't have to be exactly the same
It would have been cool to see Charlie become willy....Freddie highmore as wonka....idk....watching a kid evolve from being enamoured by this mythical being to becoming the next one
Surprisingly, I actually liked Wonka. Did not expect that going onto it. Nowhere near as good as the original but I liked it better than the Tim Burton one
I will say I pretty much prefer the original story, then this one. I mean don’t get me wrong. It was OK the movie, but the fact that they have this Oompa Loompa just stalking Willy Wonka because he took cocoa beans from the island while he was guarding them. Along with getting expelled until he reclaims what he’s looking for showing the Oompa Loompa have a brilliant society. Kind of throws the entire story of Willy Wonka, bringing them to the factory because he was trying to protect them from the evil of that island which they were desperate to survive. I still don’t understand why they decided to make Willy Wonka. Not even know how to read that makes absolutely no sense? I mean, if he was living in a foreign country, like eastern somewhere in Europe, that would be understandable. But for him to just be raised by his mother, not even know how to simply read that makes absolutely no sense. That’s the only thing about this. I am disappointed in. He is a genius in making chocolate the best and yet somehow he doesn’t even know how to read.
