I just want to say thank as I spent 3 months making a mission and moved to a new computer so I could not work on it anymore but thanks to you I get to play it now
Hi, is the mission an MP mission? Does it require any mods? What mission is it? If your missing mods that the mission requires it wont load in the editor, other then that even if it had errors or issues with it, it would still show but answer those 3 questions and lets see what we can do.

Very welcome, happy that it has helped, and the good thing is that you can always go back to the forum thread as a written reference if you need a refresher on certain things as it also has included screenshots.

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to import missions from the APEX DLC into the editor because there are certain functionalities that I would like to retrieve for personal scenarios, such as the deployment system, respawn tickets, loadouts, etc. I have tried to do it myself, but I always encounter errors. Could you please try to help me?
Since you seem to be active, I'm having an issue. The only file I've found even related to the mission I downloaded was just a random BIN file. It's the multiplayer mission KP Liberation Song Bin Tanh, and I've been trying to find a way to change the Game Master/Zeus module to where it allows unofficial content due to the fact half of my added mods for the liberation aren't showing up. Am I doing something wrong? In my documents I don't see it, and so forth. The only thing I've found is the file that relates to it's steam ID, and the BIN files I mentioned previously.
Ya im always active and will be for a long time ;) But ya that bin file you have to convert, i'll download the unsung mod and the mission and take a look, never really worked with bin files for missions so we'll see what i can do. But bin is a way to compress and binarzie the mission.
Ok i downloaded (subbed) the mod, and mission, loaded them up in mp lan, and got in game basically played the scenario, then exited, it saves, and then i quit the game. I go here: C:\Users\Gunte\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\Gunter%20Severloh\Saved\steamMPMission\KP%20Liberation%20Song%20Bin%20Tanh.song_bin_tanh Inside this folder: KP%20Liberation%20Song%20Bin%20Tanh.song_bin_tanh which is the mission, is a mission.pbo this is what you should be seeing, so you name that pbo the name of the mission, and this is what i would do, i would name it: KP_Liberation_Song_Bin_Tanh.song_bin_tanh.pbo Notice the .pbo on the end thats because its still a pbo file, but also notice the map extension before the .pbo which is .song_bin_tanh so once you have that, then extract the pbo with pbomanager, and you should get a folder with the same name as the pbo except without the .pbo at the end, the folder will be this: KP_Liberation_Song_Bin_Tanh.song_bin_tanh If you open that folder then the mission.sqm, and all other scripts will be seen but, what you need to do now is take that folder, the KP_Liberation_Song_Bin_Tanh.song_bin_tanh and move it into your editor folder which is here: C:\Users\username\Documents\Arma 3 \missions then load up the editor with the unsung mod loaded, choose the map, and open the mission in the editor. Then you can do what your looking to do with zeus.
@@rommelproductions3990I dont abort, i saved and exited. I am having some issues one step four and for me I followed the Tutorial but there is no "missions" folder at the address of "C:\Users\(MyName)\OneDrive\Documents\Arma 3" the only folders at that address are "compositions", "mpmissions", "Saved" and "UserSaved" it might be that it is in my OneDrive but there is no address similar to that besides my OneDrive and either way I don't see that being a issue
Hello, the terms maps and terrains are related, scenarios or missions is the term you want to use. As for your question let me rephrase it so i can get an idea of what your asking, so your asking if its possible to add more mods or replace mods for a mission that requires certain mods? Is that about what your asking? Let me go into some details here, for a mission or scenario if it already requires certain mods, yes you can replace those mods, however it depends on what is being used from those mods in the mission and what are the mods. If a mission say is using RHS mods and the units or infantry in the mission are from RHS, and you want to replace RHS with say CUP units or infantry, then yes you can do that, the best way to do that is to view the list of all placed assets on the left side, in that list, any unit (infantry) placed from a mod will have an icon to the right of it from where its from. Ideally to replace a group, or units, you may want to add what you want to be sure its exact replacement if thats the case, and then delete the units from the left list, that would be the most accurate way to do it.
ive recently downloaded some mods from steam workshop, not subscribed, downloaded, and when i go to host a server, the scenarios i got don't show up under the steam subscribed content, is there a way to fix this?
If your not subscribed to them then thats your answer, how are you downloading mods from the workshop without subscribing to them, thats the only way to get mods unless the author of a mod has an alternative link for an external download. Only way to fix mods not showing up is to subscribe to them, because aside creating a mod folder in the Arma 3 directory it adds another file that tells the game, steam that the mod you downloaded is from the workshop and links that mod. Why there is a !workshop folder in the Arma 3 directory. I know of no other way around that, a mod has to be synced with steam and the workshop to show up on the launcher. If you did sub, and the mod aint showing up then thats another problem altogether, with that you could clear your steam cache, and make sure you have enough space for the mod, outside that idk.
Arma 3 removed the button "Save and Exit", every time I play a game, a folder is created in "Documents/Arma 3/MPMissions" but its always empty. Is there any way to get the "Save and Exit" button back?
@@Gunter_Severloh I just realised the mission is saved (.pbo) when you load a specifically orange mission, namely, it has to exclusively be a workshop "mission", not from any workshop addon or manually added addon.

Hello. I wanted to edit missions from Ravage mod, which are in their own folder. When I find folder with missions, then I did not found here these missions and even this folder. Any idea? Thanks.
@@Tigerlover234 Huh? You have to go to here to @Ravage mod itself, which would be here C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\!Workshop\@Ravage\addons then open the addons folder, then locate the rvg_missions.pbo extract it and then inside look for the folder rvg_sp. Inside the rvg_sp is the single player scenarios, you take those and then move them to here: C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\missions once you put them there you go to the editor and locate them, open them, and be able to edit them.
Hi. I've installed KP Liberation from the steam page and wanted to change some settings in its config file. I've extracted the PBO, renamed the folder and placed it in the missions folder so I can open up the editor. I'm not sure if it's a problem specific to KP Liberation but when I open it in Eden it says "Error when loading scenario." I'm at a loss on what to do next and would appreciate any help if you could provide any. Many thanks!
"Error when loading scenario" Thats a tricky one, the mission require any mods? whats the exact name on the workshop page so i can look it up, maybe i can open it in the editor, if so i can link it to you for download.
@@Gunter_Severloh Just to preface, I've already solved the problem but thank you very much for responding! For the sake of everyone who might reading this in the future, here's what went wrong: I unpacked the mission.pbo file from its folder and placed its contents in a folder which I renamed KP.Liberation.Altis. Apparently, the first period between "KP" and "Liberation" was what was causing the error as I was now able to open it in the editor once I'd simply removed the period. Again thanks for responding and for your really helpful video!
Works for any mission, if its a scenario then my tutorial here will show you how to install, locate, open and move the scenario to the editor, its actually pretty simple to do. So just follow the steps, for DUWS considering its labeled as a multiplayer mission then you do the following: 1. Subscribe to the DUWS scenario you want. 2. Start the game with any required mods. 3. Go to Multiplayer ---> MP browzer ----> Host /lan ----> start your own server. 4. Choose the map its on (left), choose the mission (right). 5. Play it (just start it so your ingame, once ingame and you can move around shoot your gun, then press esc, and exit that installs it. 6. Locate the Steam MP missions folder ----> C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission 7. Locate your mission, then open the folder. 8. Look for a pbo, it most likely will be titled mission.pbo 9. Rename the pbo to the missions name, with the map extension, leaving the .pbo at the end, so lets say DUWS mission was on Altis it would read DUWS.Altis.pbo 10. Extract the pbo with pbo manager to the missions name (bottom option). 11. You should have a folder thats titled DUWS.Altis 12. Move that folder to the eden editor folder here ----> C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\missions 13. Start the game, start the editor, go to altis, locate the mission import it and there you go, now you can edit it, or copy and paste it to another map and build your own using that mission as a template. ======== Just follow the video, you can even go to the thread on the forums itself if you need more detailed information on how to do something i have screenshots for each step. It looks like alot but once you do it a couple of times its nothing to figure out. But if you have any trouble, questions, then just ask, i'm here everyday as well as BI forums where the tutorial is at. Hope that helps and answers your question. Cheers!

@@Gunter_Severloh thanks for the reply. I ended up sorting it, I installed WinZip and that opened it for me. Now I can play liberation with custom factions. Thanks again
Hey so I'm having a similar issue to a lot of people where i cant extract it even though I have pbo manager installed and setup i was wondering if you would be able to do it for me and send it back on a drive or something gunter?
I can do it for you, but if you can locate the mission file after you have done the process of playing the mission and then locating the mission, after that theres really nothing to do other then move the open mission folder to your editor folder. Is it an MP mission you subbed to, played, found the mission folder, and you see the mission.pbo within the saved folder?
@@Matt_1312 You can upload it to google drive and then link it here if that can work for you. Another way is through discord in chat if you have discord.
im trying to edit a workshop senario thats multiplayer. i do the same stuff as this but when i do the PBO it just makes a folder called mission (same name as the pbo) with a .sqm file inside it? any ideas
@@matthewyoung4036 Welcome, just remember that the name of the pbo isn't important, but whatever you do name it or whether you leave it say mission, it must have the map extension on the end of it or the editor wont load it. Also note in the description of the video linked is the forum thread for the tutorial, you can use that as a reference if need too, as i have pics for each step there.
Hey, I followed all of your steps for the MP mission but when i go to exit, it does not say Save and Exit, it only says Abort to leave the mission and does not save it. Any ideas?
Some missions are created with the save option removed. Only way i know how to get these is more complicated, and you must join the mission hosted by someone else. This causes the mission to be downloaded to your C:\Users\..yourusername...\AppData\Local\Arma 3\MPMissionsCache. The missions in the folder are already dePbo'd. Just move the mission folder/s to the C:\Users\..yourusername...\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\Fish\mpmissions and you can edit them from the MP game editor
You get the mission from steam workshop? If so can you link it? Did you play the mission? So you looked here ---> C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission for the mission and found it, opened the folder and no pbo was in there?
Hi, Do you have another profile your using like this is what i use for my profile: C:\Users\Gunte\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\Gunter%20Severloh and in that folder is saved and all the other files? Did you play the scenario you subscribed to and then exited it should save it and you should have a saved folder in your profiles folder.
Did you play the mission in MP lan or on a dedicated? This is an mp mission as you know so you can only play it through mp lan or on a dedicated server so you should be looking here C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission after you had played it through mp lan and here in the mpmissions folder if you played it on a dedicated C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Arma 3 As for the mission folder being in Other Profiles, it may because of the settings the missions use where it stores information like a cache, cant really say never played Antistasi, all i know its a complex heavily scripted mission. What Antistasi Plus did you play so i can check it out and better help you.
I'm trying to do it with a mission but when i launch it, there is no option to save. The Save button is grey and where it should be Save & Exit there is just Abort. Any ideas of how can i fix this?
Hi, i need more information on the mission, what it is, if its singleplayer or multiplayer, also if it requires any mods. If your able link the mission and i'll take a look and see what the issue is.
Does it matter if the files don't show .PBO at the end? everything looks right apart from the file not having .PBO but does show as a PBO file. As when I extract the files and load them into the Scenario it only asks me to Open the file and not Import.
As far my own experience the saved file should be a pbo for both a SP and MP mission. The pbo is essentially like a zip file, it is a compressed file for the mission, so for steam workshop subbed missions in this case, once you have played the mission initially, exited it and the game saved it, its packing the mission files into a "zip" pbo format for the sake of efficiency and to reduce the file size. The container folder for the mission found here C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steam or here C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission will have the pbo inside it, the pbo itself is the mission you need to extract, everything else is not needed. So if there is no pbo then what do you have exactly and what is its folder location? If you open it whats inside it? a mission.sqm? what mission did you sub to can you link it?
@@Gunter_Severloh The file for example says Mission. It shows as a PBO file. But it doesn't say Mission.PBO. I have done everything else as instructed. Played scenario and saved it. I am trying this on a Ravage Scenario for me and my friends to play so it would be MP but just doesn't want to load the mission.
@@ted1453 Hi Ted, i did not see your last comment here sorry, i dont get notifications for replied comments, anyways When you subbed to a mission for mp, and then played it, the game will save it here: C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission once you locate the mission inside that steamMPMission folder, for example i'll use a mission i have the mission folder should look like this Dynamic%20Recon%20Ops%20-%20Altis.altis obviously for you the name wont be the same. Inside that folder is the ----> mission.pbo you need to rename that pbo to whatever you want for example, i'll name this Dynamic%20Recon%20Ops%20-%20Altis.altis to this Dynamic_Recon_Ops.altis.pbo Now when you extract that pbo, it will be a folder named this Dynamic_Recon_Ops.altis If you load the mission in the editor and it dont load, then its missing the .altis or whatever map your mission is on at the end of the mission file, as said in the video this mainly applies to MP missions, as SP missions seem to always have the map extension. What you said here "It shows as a PBO file. But it doesn't say Mission.PBO." So what does it say? and if you extracted it whats the name of the folder? and whats inside it?
I think you should separate this video to 2 because SP steps mixing with MP steps video is fogging the process constantly need to reverse and skip. Also when I host the server I don't see save and exit option I only see abort whats the fix of that?
Process altogether is very simple, for both you just need to play the mission for sp and mp as you know. Then you have 2 folders that the saved mission files are in Singleplayer - C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steam Multiplayer - C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission regardless of which one your using the tutorial for sp or mp the process is the same for both, just different folders. As for your question delete everything in this folder C:\Users\Gunter Severloh\AppData\Local\Arma 3 run the mission through multiplayer from the main menu ---> host a server (mp lan), once ingame and you can move around, then the save and exit should show, does for me. Dont forget you can use the forum thread of the tutorial as a reference, there i have screenshots and more details. forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/231279-tutorial-how-to-edit-a-steam-workshop-mission-scenario/

@@B-K94 I took a look at the one i linked, heres what i did, since overthrow is a mod, just unpbo the mod itself in the workshop folder: C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Arma 3\!Workshop\@Overthrow Community Edition\addons Then once you have a folder for the mod, open it and inside go to campaigns, and the missions you want are the campaigns as they are on separate maps. Be sure to have the mod loaded though to open the campaign missions, but my video here is specific to missions not mods. I tryed to load the mission in the editor and changes small things like giving zeus myself or anything to see if it will change. I saved and loaded it into my server but still, i have the error loading mission. Do you know whay can i do ? I payd a server just for me and my friend but for 7 days im tryng to fix that im quite giving up
That depends on what type of mission it is, if its SP then it should be named properly and with the map extension, if its MP mission then you have to open the mission file inside the steammpmissions folder and rename the mission.pbo to the proper name which would be the mission name and its map extension. So say your mission was named Assault and it was based on Altis then it would be Assault.altis.pbo then you extract that and move it to the mission folder for the editor. Use the forum thread i have linked as a guide.

Hi, I just found your channel and looks very promising! I like your pace. I'm trying to edit Vindicta for adding systems from Ravage, but when I start a vindicta MP game, the save button is disabled. There is probably a reason you edit saves instead of extracting pbo:s from the Arma/addons directly, but I'm too noob to understand why.
Hello, thanks, i've heard of Vindicta but never played it, can you tell me what you did? So you followed my tutorial here correct and then extracted the pbo, then you had a folder named missions correct? From there you renamed the mission folder and added the map extension to the folder correct? MP missions have a little trick to them if you dont do it the mission wont be read by the game. There is no saving in mp, the mission is either persistent, or there is a teamswitch setup, or a respawn.
@@Gunter_Severloh I appreciate the swift reply. I cannot follow your tutorial. Since Vindicta is MP only I went straight to hosting local MP game. I cannot save and thus there is nothing in "\Documents\...\Saved\steamMPMission". I was wondering if there is a reason for not using the original mission pbo from "...\steamapps\common\Arma 3\!Workshop\@Vindicta (Alpha)\addons\vindicta_missions.pbo"? and copying it to "\Documents\...\Saved\steamMPMission" and extract it there like in your tutorial. (There's a bunch of missions and maps inside that pbo) A bit reduntant, but here's what I did: 1: unloaded all mods expect Vindicta (Alpha) and its requirements (ace3, CBA_A3 and FileXT) 2. hosted a server on Altis, selected mission Vindicta, selected a role 3. created a new game with Vindicta's startup screen (This mod is big and has its own save system) 4. Once a game was initialized, saved the game using Vindicta's dialog 5. Pressed 'Esc': "Save" option was gray and "Save and exit" was "Abort" instead. 6. Exited Arma3 7. Folder "\Documents\...\Saved\steamMPMission" was empty 8. Unloaded also FileXT and repeated above steps since I thought it is blocking native saving, but no - same result. For you and anyone reading: I heartily recommend trying out Vindicta. It's a really long one, but evolves naturally. My project is to add some roving raiders from Ravage into the mix for added danger and civil war atmosphere.
@@erminos8628 Mp missions are saved when you start them and then exit the mission, i showed this in the tutorial. The exiting of the mission is what saves it there wont be a save option, it works by you starting the mission, and then once ingame, you press esc and then quit. and ya this is where it will be saved at: C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission then it will be a mission folder with a mission.pbo inside that. Then you take that pbo, you name it the same as the mission and then you put the .map at the end of it basically if the mission is on altis then you put .altis after the name, just like you would see in the editor. then you move that folder to the editor folder and thats it, mission should open up in the editor. As for your question, it dont matter where you get the mission file from, if thats the mission then ya use it. No need to use the tutorial method to get the mission file in the editor as its mainly for missions that are subbed to on steam and then players want the mission file and do something with them in the editor.

@Gunter Severloh Thanks for the help and yeah I did do a double check and went through the forums and realized I was hitting out of my knowledge realm. It is indeed not as cut and dry as I expected
Very welcome, hope all makes sense and my speech wasn't to slow for you or anyone else, any questions or problems let me know, im here and on the forum where the tutorial is everyday. Cheers!
Hi, ya i cant really help you with windows 11 im on win 10 64bit, about all i can tell you is aside the video is follow the tutorial on the forums which is more detailed along with screenshots. forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/231279-tutorial-how-to-edit-a-steam-workshop-mission-scenario/ What are you having trouble with, locating folders?

@@GoblinsCaves Welcome, well all i did was sub to the scenario, then loaded the game, went to mp lan, loaded the scenario and then started it, then once i could move around, then i hit save and exit. After i went to this location: C:\Users\username\Documents\Arma3\Saved\steamMPMission looked for the scenario then renamed the mission.pbo to the mission name with the map extension, unpbo'd it and i got the mission folder. But ya idk how you would get a json file never really seen that before but, now you can make your edits.
Campaigns are a different setup, thats a mod not a scenario, campaigns are multiple scenarios inside a mod, and plays based on script, for the saving part it might show up in the mp missions but i doubt it. Ideally open the mod itself and pull the scenario out that way.
@@kevinmcallister2707 Want me to do it for you? I've done it many times before, i can extract the pbo, and i'll put all the scenarios into a zip file and you can download it and then when you get it, you just take those scenarios and put them into the folder for the editor and you can take a look at them in the editor. Let me know, it takes very little time to do.
Hey, so I went through the steps that were shown in the process but once I got to the steam folder under Arma 3, there was only the meta file, what do I do here?
For a Singleplayer or Multiplayer mission? Either mission you need to play the mission did you do that as nothing will show til that happens. Also what folder are you looking in?
I've got to get to bed, i work a night shift so i cant wait around for a reply, i will check back when i get home in the morning, if it helps, go to the tutorial on BI Forums here: forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/231279-tutorial-how-to-edit-a-steam-workshop-mission-scenario/ as its more detailed with included screenshots, again i will check back in the morning when i get home from work. @@Gunter_Severloh Sorry for the late response, but singleplayer, and I did play the scenario and save and exit. Also the file was: C:/Users/Gurkk(my username)/Documents/Arma 3/Saved/steam Then there was nothing there but the meta file.
@@gurkkroleplay8830 Back, no worries, ok what mission was it on the workshop, maybe i can take a look, might be something else to it, whats the name of the mission?
Man I have a serious problem and I don't find whit it is. I downloaded a MPmission made by a user (Domination by Xeno) And when I try to save it in the editor it just brokes the mission. I mean, all scripts just gone, no one works. (for example missions don't appear) I tried with different versions of the mission, for example I entered on a server that uses Domination by xenos but edited by the owner of the server, then I moved the archives to the MPmissions directory to edit it and it happens the same, when I save it and then try to play it, all scripts are gone and even the mobile mhq dissapears (Not the vehicle, just the script that makes that vehicles an MHQ) So I can play it but not edit the map to mi liking because I cant save it.
Dont know what to tell you, never had or heard of such an issue, unless im misunderstanding what your doing, but i have edited plenty of Domination missions by Xeno since 2006 for Arma 1, and have one on my server i rent i edited, have a couple more im slowly working on, as for your issue, have no idea. Why are you saving the mission in the editor what are you doing?
Correct, scenario is also called a mission in most respects but if your talking about a campaign then the word campaign is used. Setup of a campaign is through a mod format, so you would as you may know load a campaign up like a mod in the Arma 3 launcher, so folders and locations of files are accessed differently. You can however open a campaign with pbomanager as when you open the campaign (mod) in the workshop folder, then go into the addons folder depending on the number of files it will be pbo files, open those pbo/s, and locate where the scenarios/missions are in the campaign, each mission in a campaign should already be open, no need to extract the mission, from there just grab the whole scenario and drag it into your editor folder. Keep in mind that campaigns i believe being connected to each other, may also be scripted depending on the campaign and the author, or it could be just a series of missions in order, but thats about how you would do it. Hope that is clear and helps.
When I extract the .pbo file, the extracted folder contains the .pbo extension still ( ex: example.malden.pbo) is the folder name. I renamed it and deleted the .pbo extension for the folder, then followed all of your instructions and this was the one difference I had. My missions still do not show up for the editor, is this the reason why?
So you: 1. Subbed to a mission, is it SP or MP? Can you link it? 2. You then played it. 3. You then located the SP or MP folder that its in, SP being here ----> C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steam MP being here ---> C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission 4. Locating your mission if SP for example you should see a folder that looks like this (example mission name) [CO-04]%20Terrorist%20Hunt.altis 5. Inside that should be a pbo with the same name of the mission looking like this [CO-04]Terrorist_Hunt.altis.pbo 6.Extracting that pbo (right click the pbo and extract to the missions name bottom option) will give you this [CO-04]Terrorist_Hunt.altis this folder will go into the editor. ============== Aside what i described above i have no idea how you got a folder with a pbo extension on it. If it still says this ----> [CO-04]Terrorist_Hunt.altis.pbo then its a pbo, which you need to extract. Maybe give me some screenshots of what you did as when you extract a pbo it should only be a folder of the mission's name and the .map name after it.
@@Gunter_Severloh The mission is TRGM 2 - Malden (first result on the steam workshop), and I had already played it a few times before attempting to edit it. I followed your instructions in the video and fixed the .pbo error by renaming the pbo file again, and it seems to work fine, however it still does not show up in the editor.
@@jacob3777 I subbed to the mission, played both the SP and MP versions. The MP version when you open the workshop folder this C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission the mission will be this TRGM2%20-%20Malden.malden Open that, and inside will be a mission.pbo rename that using only this part of the name ----> TRGM2%20-%20Malden.malden rename it this to clean it up ----> TRGM2_Malden.malden then whats left is this -----> TRGM2_Malden.malden.pbo Extract that and you should get a folder with just this ------> TRGM2_Malden.malden Screenshot ----> prntscr.com/109kxzl move that folder to here -----> C:\Users\username\Documents\Arma 3\missions Why is an mp mission in SP missions? Didn't work for me, but thanks for the detailed attempt. Saved the scenario in SP as instructed but won't show up in the file locations you showed, alas.
Hello, sorry to hear that, what mission were you trying to open? Let me take a crack at it, and if i have no issues i'll link you the mission to download.
@@Gunter_Severloh It's quite alright, I figured a workaround! I found the file on the steam workshop and downloaded it directly using a workshop downloader :)
Unfortunately, that doesn't quite work for dynamic recon ops. Only the loadout situation is shown in the editor. It would be really cool if you could adjust a dynamic recon ops Scenario in the Editor. Greetings
The only thing that is in the editor is the player starting position along with some objects and buildings and the other playable units that are under your command. The mission is dynamic as you know, but to change anything you would need to look at the start.sqf in the mission folder. Aside that im sure you can add things yourself to the editor if you wanted too, DRO essentially just spawns the tasks, weather, enemy factions, and misc objects based on what you chose.
@@Gunter_Severloh I was afraid of that. I was hoping that a snapshot would be taken when I save the game. I want to adapt the whole thing to the 80's (gm dlc), so I have no choice but to rummage through all the sqf files to change objects like the FOB, barriers, checkpoints, bunkers etc. Thank you for your time

I would like to ask the author The Arma3 folder in my computer files is not the same as the one made Is it necessary to install any program? Otherwise, I only have the Saved folder in the content of my file Open a folder with only one steam There are not as many folders as the author If I play Coop or MP with my friends, I use my game console to open the server So I would like to ask!
Hi yes, if you plan on looking at a mission in the editor, you need to install the mission by playing it. Unless you can acquire a mission pbo for the mission elseware that is if the author of the mission has a downloadable link to a zip file thats about the only alternative. I dont know what "game console" you are referring too, as far as i know the only way to start Arma 3 is with the arma 3 launcher, there is a few ways to access servers, either through the Arma 3 server tab, multiplayer browser through ingame, or another way. As far as folders go, i can only assume that they would be created accordingly, i say that as on my end they were always there so i never had a situation to where i had missing folders. Just play the mission and go from there, follow the tutorial, any more troubles or questions just ask i will answer as soon as i can.
@@greeie227 Im sorry man, i just seen your comment with the link, somehow utube hid the link, i had to go to utube studio to see if somehow it was either removed or hidden and it was hidden, i approved it and now it shows. So heres the thing, i subbed to the mission, however i go to start it and nothing happens, so on the workshop page there is a link for a download, it has a pdf, in that pdf is a list of mods that the scenario requires, ill list them here: Eden Objects - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=686802825 PLP Beach Objects - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=488686521 PLP Containers - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=504690333 PLP Materials - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1354397885 PLP Urban Packs: Barriers and Fences - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=701300272 So download and install these and load them and then start the scenario, it should work. Idk why the author just didnn't link the mods to the right on the workshop page would have saved people a whole lot of time and headache.
@@javierlolcx3152 So you played the mission under scenarios on the menu of the game correct, basically just got in the game to where you can move around or shoot, then exited, it should have saved. From there you need to look in this folder: C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steam if you have done that, located the pbo, extracted it, and then moved the mission folder to the editor. Theres 3 things to keep in mind here: 1. Make sure that the mission has the map extension on the end of it, if it dont it wont load or show up in the editor. So for example say the mission's name is Assault, and the mission is on the map Altis, the mission folder with the mission.sqm inside, the mission folder must read Assault.Altis if it doesn't then the mission wont load in the editor. 2. Be sure that your openng the correct user profile for the game that the mission is saved under. 3. Be sure you put the mission in the correct folder for the editor, so for SP missions it should go here: C:\Users\your username\Documents\Arma 3\missions
@@Gunter_Severloh yup did that. I have .altis at the end of the folder. I used the PBO manager and also un-binarized the sqm. then I put it in the missions folder in my arma 3 missions folder.
@@Gunter_Severloh I might be fine, sorry. Basically I have Other Profiles Arma 3 Arma 3 Other Profiles etc etc and I didn't know where it was sending it, but I figured it out, I love you
Cant really help you unless you tell me what you did, what mission type your trying to get into the editor. Because if you didn't follow the initial process then the mission file wont show up anyways. If you know how to access mission folders that are created in the editor, then the steam workshop mission folder will be in the same folder area. So for me for example, the missions i create in the editor are located here C:\Users\Gunter Severloh\Documents\Arma 3\missions If i go back to that Arma 3 folder then inside there is the steam folder C:\Users\Gunter Severloh\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steam as for your situation go back to the users folder and look around, another option is to do a search on your computer for the name of the mission, and steam and see what comes up. A great tool for search you can use is this Agent Ransack www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/ i use it myself to search for things i cant find. Overall just be sure you have started the mission like shown in the video and exit it for the game to save it, from there the mission will have been saved somewhere. What mission are you trying to get into the editor?
Need details, extracted what a SP mission, or mp mission, did you play the mission as shown in the video first? And where did you look for the extracted mission folder? So you asking for help, or making a statement, be specific with details or i cant help you.
Use my mod instead steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1610601744 videos of it are on my channel here. But you dont necessarily need scripting per say it depends on what your trying to accomplish. I know little code so i use scripts already made too, best way to get better is to just do it, make mistakes, research, try stuff out, learn from others like anything in life, how i got better at it.
Seeing your last comment on the pbomanager video, just make sure you have winrar, winzip, or 7zip to open zip or rar files, once you open the zip file there is going to be a folder for pbomanager inside it is 2 more zips, you'll need to know if your operating system is 32bit or 64bit, probably 64bit. So choose the x64 zip, extract that and run the program inside which installs pbomanager. Once you get to that point just watch the pbomanager video so you know how to use it, then come back to this video for opening steam workshop missions. Any questions just ask, i will answer as soon as i can.
