Right, this was a spontaneous laughter. Getting rarer and rarer. Nowadays everybody is walking on egg shells, they're all afraid their reactions could get them in trouble.
+Potter Perfect Michael Clarke Duncan was a great actor, probably most famous for his roll as John Coffey in the film "The Green Mile". A wonderful film with a lot of great actors in it. A classic! Google his name, then you will find everything you need about him in IMDB. In this RU-vid clip you can watch him at 1:15 and forward.
"You can't have a sex scandal with Jack he's done everybody. "I had Angelina Jolie and afterwards she adopted me". He's done every drug known to mankind. He's the only person in the world that Keith Richards would go "I have to go home now Jack". - Robbin Williams
"I see white people." The brilliant thing about that line is that Duncan and Willis were friends before they shot The Green Mile or Sixth Sense. Duncan also credited Willis for introducing him to Darabont the director
@Iago Willis wasn’t in it. Although, I think MC Duncan declared at the time that Bruce was like a Hollywood guardian Angel for him and was going to thank him first if he received the award. Not sure but I think he didn’t get it and Tom Cruise did. Probably for Magnolia. In witch he was absolutely great. Awards aren’t important anyway.
Here are the people being made jovial fun of during this year's edition of the classic Crystal gag: 0:19 - Arnold Schwarzenegger, who presented Best Visual Effects that evening and was part-owner of the recently bankrupt Planet Hollywood 0:31 - The very pregnant Annette Bening, nominated that evening for Best Actress for her performance in American Beauty 0:39 - Denzel Washington, nominated as Best Actor for playing the wrongfully incarcerated Rubin "Hurricane" Carter in The Hurricane 0:46 - Roberto Benigni, previous year's Best Actor winner for Life Is Beautiful 0:55 - Meryl Streep, a two-time Oscar winner nominated again that evening for Best Actress in the cancer drama One True Thing 1:04 - Dame Judi Dench, previous year's Best Supporting Actress winner for Shakespeare in Love (and a VERY good sport for this kind of thing) 1:14 - The Wall Street Journal (Not sure what this article was about) 1:19 - Michael Clark Duncan, Best Supporting Actor nominee that year for The Green Mile 1:31 - Sir Michael Caine, who won his second Oscar that night as Best Supporting Actor in The Cider House Rules 1:37 - Russell Crowe, nominated for Best Actor for his work in The Insider 1:43 - Willie Fulgear and his son Allen, special invited guests; Mr. Fulgear received $50,000 and two complimentary tickets to the Oscars ceremony as a reward for finding and safely returning 52 of the 55 Oscar statuettes that were stolen from the manufacturer several weeks before the ceremony 1:51 - Jack Nicholson, three-time Oscar winner and Coolest Guy in the Room
the wall street journal actually polled quite a number of insiders and they published who they think were the winners based on that. got lot of flack for that and they didn't repeat that ever again lol
“Oh this thong is killing me” “I see white people” “You know what I’m still the coolest guy in the room” lmfao!!! Billy Crystal = best Oscars host ever! 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
+Lisa Toner i didn't even know he died and thats said because he in my opine he one the greatest people to grace humanity he gave to so many charity's that to me made him great
Among all the 'I Know What They Are Thinking' sections by Billy, this is the absolutely best. Reactions from the public and specially by Annette Benning, Judy Dench, Michael Clarke Duncan and Jack Nicholson were so funny. At first Jack looked a little uncomfortable but Billy hit the jackpot with him !!! Blessings from San Juan PR !!!
One of those great moments for a comic when every joke lands big! Billy Crystal went 12 for 12 with 6 HRs, 2 Triples, 2 Doubles and 2 singles in 2 minutes
He is stating what the actors could possibly be thinking. It's clearly not what they're actually thinking but the way Billy Crystal phrases these thoughts and the way they match the actors facial expressions is priceless.
1999 was the BEST year in Hollywood cinema. Actually, they've never reached this level again: American Beauty, Magnolia, Fight Club, The Matrix, Eyes Wide Shut... just to mention three... damn! that was a year full of masterpieces
As I was doing an university project, I just started listening to videos of people winning Oscars, lol. This one just automatically got played after another video and, oh my, I laughed so hard. This was so different than other segments of modern Oscars and actually enterntaining and light.🔥
I don't think we'l ever have such iconic actors in the future. It already started with lots of random actors in new movies. Most of them don't even return for other films.
This my sir is known as pure humor and the level of jokes witj dignity without passing on personal comments in colleagues mental /medical conditions or dwelling into their personal lives on any level. This level is something which self assumed comedians with squeaky voices can't achieve.
