I agree. Offense was definitely sloppy. They tried the same play multiple times, rushing with brooks, didn't work well at all. Caleb's interception was enough for me to question both our QBs at this point. I'm concerned for bedlam and next season. We all know rattler isn't returning but what about caleb now. Can we count on him next year as a starter? As usual, Grinch and our defense prove to have the capability to keep us from a losing streak. Lastly, anyone else tear up at Redmond's first ever TD at our last home game?
@@zillam3t4l Caleb will be fine. His biggest problem right now is that he's not seeing the whole field. Not surprising considering he's just had 5 starts and the last two weeks have been against good defenses. Rattler looked so good the second half of last year but after his first 5 games he was 3-2, Caleb is 4-1. That Iowa State team beat Oklahoma State, and is still a very good team. Bedlam is going to be a tough game, but if our defense continues to play the way they did yesterday and against Baylor (until late in the game), we'll win. I didn't tear up after Redmond's TD, but man if there's a guy that deserves it, it's that kid!
@@zillam3t4l I know Caleb can get better so next season will be ok on. For this offense to move the ball and put up points, Caleb is going to have to run the ball. The dude has to be Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson next week because he is still struggling to pass the ball on a good defense. We have proof lol.
@@GO-FYT Huh? OU played really, really good D in the 2000s. Once you get to the 2010s is when things started to fall apart defensively. 2001 was one of the best D's in OU history. 2005 wasn't far behind it; and as good as the 2008 team was, the 2009 D was even better.
Glad the D showed up so big. Hoping our offense will get back in rhythm. Could have won this by 4 touchdowns or more with some offensive help. Keep at it sooners. Finish strong.
I would have liked to see us run the ball more. Brooks had 17 carries and Gray only had 4. We should have run the ball with our backs 30+ times against that defense.
@@Black_Death69AC I hope you're right. When your defense plays like that, you really need to win by more than seven, and not have the other team in the red zone with a shot at a walk-off win (which was also thwarted by the D)
Always appreciate it Mr. Mac! Brock Purdy isn't a great QB, but his ability to get rid of the ball at 6:36 was impressive. Would have liked to have seen the offense play much better, but what a game by the defense and we got the W! Now, let's go take care of business in Stoolwater!
Caleb is just young and inexperienced. He's going to end up being really, really good. I think Lincoln is trying to open the play book with him, and that's a lot to take in with so little experience.
Starting @5:26 we hear another Epic Call from Gus Johnson: "Steps up. In Trouble.....and....Knocked down! Ball Loose...Ball Picked-up!" But whats the Line right after he says Redmond's name? Meet me there?
They so were. But the refs didn't call anything obvious in that game. I think it's cause it is most likely our last year in the Big 12 and the conference doesn't want us to win Big 12 Champs our last year here.
@@BoomerKeith1 I think it's really stupid. Like we are leaving so let us have this! It's not like we are ever coming back so OSU, and ISU can win all the Big 12 Championships they want after we leave.
An OC sure or at least an Assistant offensive coordinator I don't think people realize how much help Shane Beamer was and pretty sure Cale Gundy helps with the offensive gameplans also . A QB coach hell nah Lincoln is one of the best we wouldn't get anyone better there and these top QBs wouldn't be coming to Norman if we did
I don't hear no one saying OU is going to win the national championship like you all were saying back in August. And wanna be coach Lincoln Riley boy you are not good enough to be the head coach at LSU boy. Try coaching 7th and 8th grade football you are all talk.
"Iowa state has a possible shot at making the CFP. They win multiple conference titles and head coach at isu is one of the premier jobs in college sports" - Said no one ever in human history.
