Even with all the imperfections this team has, it feels good to play Nebraska again. And better than that, it feels good to beat them, even if they’re not the Big Red of old
Dude, this D-line is something special 😳 I just hope this team doesn't have to have a mid season loss to start clicking. These grind out games are a good thing but I just worry about them playing down to their competition and taking a ridiculous loss like we have had the past few seasons
@@terrelldavis7308 Dude, OU is in danger of a complete collapse, 2014 style.. massively overrated with a mediocre QB, just like 2014… a good QB can make you or break you. Rattler gonna cost Oklahoma, he cost them back2back losses last season, with nearly a 3rd straight loss to Texas, guy is garbage! 🗑 He played good against an overrated Florida team, now people thinks he’s next Heisman. Smh 🤦♂️
@@savagesooner4891 even then, that over rated Florida team was weakened badly due to the opt outs and their offense still practically made it near the red zone every drive. Even scored 20 points with an offense full of back ups... and their defense was bad all year... so it definitely wasn't much to brag about.
@@terrelldavis7308 Defense helped us win the game definitely, but doesn't matter if it's a rival game or not. WE CAN NOT AND MUST NOT PERFORM LIKE THAT AGAIN! There is no excuse for us to perform the way we did on Saturday, unless half the team was injured.
@@victorbaltov1808 anything could’ve happened with that ball though, him catching it was the best thing, I’ve seen crazy bounces up in the air and what not
These farewell fans get to me every year just so spoiled with us winning in blowouts that fake fans lose confidence. A slug fest shows and builds character it’s a lot of young players on this championship team so I love to see them find a way to win they will continue to improve whether u believe it or not
Right on. Plus it's like they haven't watched the team the last 5 years. We always peak at the end which is what you want (Even if our peak wasn't enough to win a playoff game...yet). Blowout wins don't teach anything. Getting punched in the mouth and finding a way to respond does.
@@tolo4u2c but when you're getting punched in the mouth by un ranked teams when you're supposed to be #3 in the Nation... I think there's a problem. These first three games were supposed to be Oklahoma's easiest games (besides Kansas obviously) if they are having close calls against these lower tier programs, imagine how ugly it might get against a real tier 1 program.... we have indeed been spoiled with blowout wins, but those are expected when Oklahoma has been hyped by the media with all these 3-5 star players and started out ranked in the top 5.
@@justinklinck6575 I'm not saying we have no problems but Tulane and Nebraska are/were both a little underrated. Frost had Nebraska ready to go and I'm sure had this game circled. I've seen this team peak at the end of each season Riley's been coach (not counting playoff teams where we didn't match up talent wise on defense.).
Nope, there's something wrong with the dynamic between Riley and Rattler. At some point even though we only have 2 scholarship RB's you got go with what you've got.
Teams are running that Umbrella coverage on defense. So the big plays downfield aren't there right now. Run the ball and let that OLine eat and get confidences. The big plays will come. Don't panic.
They seem to get a little worse every year under Riley. We need another Switzer or at least a prime Bob Stoops... I just don't think Riley is tough enough on his players, and his play calling is rather bad in crucial situations. Oklahoma has quite a bit of talent on the team, the coaching just doesn't seem all that great.
I think OU has a lot of potential. Last year, we started this way and went 1-2 while this year we're 3-0. The defense is coming together and the offense is still trying to find it's identity. Until we lose, if we lose, I'm not sounding any alarms. This team always seems to flip a switch or turn a corner figuring things out. They have the potential of being a great team. Sometimes, the best teams don't always win by 3 scores but by the skin of their teeth finding a way to get it done. These kind of games are good for a team because when it's really big they know what to do in the situation.
I agree people just love to hate and be upset with a hard fought win cuz coulda shoulda woulda won by more lol Bama only won by 2 and that Florida team is not amazing we railroaded them
Mr. Macintosh, no doubt, Nebraska came out to play! Most people don't know or remember the significance of the OU/Nebraska rivalry, back in the day. But Oklahoma and Nebraska remembers that rivalry. Nebraska came out and fought their hardest to win, because they remember how important the "GOTC." is. Does that mean Nebraska is a good team? No. Does that mean Oklahoma is a bad team? No. Third game of the season, not even midseason.
If you watch the game over. It really wasn't that bad of a performance. The offense has to run the ball more often and Rattler just needs to take what's giving to him. Stoggner definitely needs to get more touches. Defenses are going to run that umbrella coverages to limit OUs big plays. So the OLine has definitely got to step up. Let the big dogs eat. Then that passing game will open up
Some Oklahoma fans don't have faith in these team, It's not just Oklahoma that's struggling, Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio-state are vulnerable as well. They will get better moving forward.
I don’t get why everyone is complaining Oklahoma is overrated and isn’t playing good. We just played a complete game. No turnovers, all runners have an average of 5 yards or better. Our defense produced what it needed to. And for once our offense didn’t score 40 points and everyone is back to dogging on us. We didn’t need to score 40 to win this game. Oklahoma will be just fine and they’ll be right back in the playoffs
We get stuck playing to the other team and I don’t understand why. Nebraska played the best game they could muster up, they wanted to play physical football and we beat them that way. And I don’t get why it was this close. Something is happening and I don’t get it.
the offense is missing,i dont know what probably the WR or play call because i know rattler can throw deep but its just the WR is not like brown and lamb , hopefully lincoln riley can figure something out
Agreed. We’ve played well below our potential for 2/3 of our games…and still won. So if we clean some stuff up then this could still be a great season!
No bro. The only top 4 team that struggled was Alabama and they were playing number 11 Florida… At Florida. Every other top 4 team murdered their opponent except for us
WHY if Riley hires an OC what coach are you willing to give up in exchange, because OU is already at its limit for on the field coaches per B12 rules There is a reason why Riley can go out and get just about any QB he wants in recruiting. Why do you think they call him a QB whisper. I will tell you what your watching. Riley is working Rattler thru his weakness getting him ready for the NFL so he isnt just a 3 and done QB, Why do you think Hurts was drafted 2nd round, when if he had stayed at Bama they were talking about drafting him as a RB. Rattler is learning to play with his deficiency's . Rattlers strengths are when he throws on the run, because that is what he was use to in high school probably from the lack of a good oline. Have you noticed he scans the filed better on the run. That is where he feels the most comfortable. Rattler doesn't have the speed to get by with that a lot in the NFL. Rattler doesn't have the pocket savy like a Baker or the athleticism or speed of a Kyler or Hurts. Caleb Williams will be more like Hurts with a better arm Nelson will be more like a bigger Rattler with a better arm maybe even slower tho but makes very quick decisions
Of course... the defense finally plays a good game all the way through and the offense doesn't even score 30. I have a feeling OU won't be in the top 10 much longer if they don't get their act together.... that interception though...
Offense has become very predictable. No audibles being called at the line to adjust to what the defense is giving you. After DJ Graham’s int at the 1 yard line with 8 minutes to go Nebraska had all 11 players in the box and three run plays in a row were called for little to no gain setting up a punt giving Nebraska good field position and they go 40 yards to score. LR needs to do a better job of play calling and design or give up the OC duties.
Honestly, most of the time yes. There are some circumstances like late kickoffs and my personal life that will get in the way. For example: WVU won’t be till Monday bc of my travel schedule
It's fun but misleading to watch these videos where you don't see all of the terrible plays OU made. It's a W, but they need to really improve on some things. I'll say this, I don't like some of the stuff we saw from the D in this game like giving up 3rd downs and the poor secondary play overall, but at least the D seems to get stops when they absolutely HAVE to, which was not the case for a long time at OU.
