I do agree to the part about authenticity and integrity. But here is something for (male) dumpees: If your ex tossed you like a fruit, get a grip on your life and improve yourself before doing anything at all. Clay mentions regret: Yes, let them regret their decision. You are not an option, or are you? After being dumped, your job is to look inside and work with that very inside. Anything else is just a pathetic attempt to manipulate external circumstances which will only lead to more pain, frustration and suffering. Besides that: If you are tossed because your ex found somebody else, close that chapter of your life and be happy you did not waste more time being with such a disgusting and horrible person. If he/she cannot commit to you, he/she is not worth your time and definitely should not get a second chance.

Thanks for this one Clay... Ive had a series of bad breakups and for a while I really lost myself in pretending to be okay. However, the more I see the people I love struggling, the harder it is to hold myself together. I dont know how to help them, but I do know that until they know how to help me, Ill never get the chance. Love you Clay, Keep doing the good work.

Im not doing any of this. I’m not needy, we saw each other 5 times the past 2 months. She says she loves me and misses but she still isn’t sure about a second chance and this weekend she went skiing with someone she met during our relationship to have sex with -_-

Well said Clay, making them crack under pressure and crawl over broken shards of glass is not the ideal thing to do, since the underlying dynamic of both wanting the opposite things remains the same 😐 But, you did not mention concrete examples of how we can be more sharing, vulnerable or transparent with them. I thought those might be helpful 😊 And lol I’m jealous, as your daughter is going to learn the best relationship skills from Day 1 😉

Always love your insight. My ex knows how I feel...we've had those conversations. We spent a week basically together and it was wonderful. Affectionate, laughing, just enjoying time together. This was 3 weeks ago. Since then, he hasn't really called at all. He has texted me in some form each day, but that's it. It's so confusing and emotionally draining. I guess I'm finally at the point where I know what an amazing person (he always told me I was a unicorn and so rare)...so if he wants to pass that up I have to let it go. We got along SO WELL...no fighting, no cheating, etc. He left when he got overwhelmed with school, work, etc and became depressed. So I know it has nothing to do with me personally. It's just heartbreaking that I am the collateral damage.

We broke up august 14, she was in a rebound relationship the next week and I texted him saying that me and her were still together the week before. I admit I was petty, but this past week November 4, I gave her a hoodie that she left at my place and I said can’t even say thanks ? And she said I don’t deserve one, and that I’m mad that I still lost her. And I texted her well you don’t even have self respect or morals and I wouldn’t want to marry a women like that but I really do miss her still lol. None of these other girls are like her, so what should I do? Wait till next year ?

My ex was in another city for work. We broke up last year. He came back to our hometown earlier this year. We reconnected and had been meeting twice a month in-person for a while until he started a very demanding job. I haven't seen him in 3 months now! We talk sporadically on texts, had a video call once and recently talked about meeting up but his schedule makes it difficult for him to follow through on the plans to meet. I'm starting to get frustrated about how long it's taking to see him, especially when things were going well for months. Idk what I can do here to not give up hope and continue on this journey to win him back without burning out because of the stagnation. I know for a fact that he's still interested to see me but his work commitments aren't letting him. Any advice to stay sane and get out of this rut I'm stuck in?
