@@ahngele28 They did huh? Funny, I never read that in anything about his life. Redd Foxx, for all his good that he did for his friends, went through his money like water and also lost a lot of it with his 4 very costly divorces. He owed over $900,000 in taxes at one point and at the time of his death it has been reported he owed some $3 million in taxes. I love my friends dearly but I wouldn't bail them out if they managed their money that badly and lived that extravagantly and beyond their means. Your "his friends drained him dry and left him when they needed him most" sounds like a crock.
Redd Foxx and LaWanda Page definitely looked like they had so much fun working together it's not even funny! Absolutely love eachother in real life and being able to rag on eachother in front of the camera to make the whole world laugh! Amazing!
They should have had an outtake disc for the S & S dvd set. The stuff they said went on during filming had cameramen on the floor. Especially when Redd flubbed lines and cussed.
Anyone who believes that times are better, happier now, have no idea what they are talking about. So many memories with the family watching amazing comedy like this. What beautiful times. ❤❤❤
Me too, lol. I’ll always remember the legendary Mr. Redd and Mom Mabely. Redd had this one joke where he said, we were so poor at Christmas if I wasn’t a boy I wouldn’t have had a toy to play with.” Lmao, he knew how to land a joke. R.I.H to all the comedians in that era.
All the cast members on that show could act and had perfect chemistry together. It’s a blessing to have grown up sitting in front of the tv watching these shows ❤
Thank you so much for posting this video. I am 56 years old and I do remember these episodes now I was a kid back then and I really didn’t understand what I was watching. I was just happy to watch red fox and the cast but now that I’m older now these skits are really funny. Thank you so much watching this on the big island of Hawaii. Thank you.🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
33 years ago today we lost one of the funniest guys on television. Always, always, always watch Sanford and Son reruns. They don't make shows like that one anymore today sadly. R.I.P. Funny Man- you are still missed. ❤ (10/11/24)
😂😅😂I have never seen this show and i already luv it.😅..I Really enjoyed the outtakes of Redd Foxx. That's my first time seeing him genuinely laugh. He looked so relaxed and very happy after he left Sandford and Son. Great Video👍🏾💯👍🏾
We found this little tidbit: Redd Foxx and LaWanda Page had been friends since childhood, and she was his first and only choice to play Esther, Fred's sister-in-law. Producers wanted to fire Page due to her inexperience on-camera, but Foxx threatened to quit the show if Page was fired.
I like these. I sure wish there were outtakes from Sanford & Son, too!! It was said that Redd would flub lines and cuss, leaving the audiences SCREAMING LAUGHING and cameramen laying on the floor with the film rolling.
I knew that Bob Einstein and Allan Blye were involved in this, from the moment I heard the harmonica honks to cover up dirty words. Though, the car horn they used for the same purpose on "Bizarre" was even funnier.
She went to Perfect Strangers before she went to Family Matters, because Family Matters was a spinoff of Perfect Strangers. If you remember, she worked as the elevator operator at the newspaper company.
Redd foxx was truly a king of comedy and mr St. Louis god bless his soul and aunt Esther soul as well too I love how they were to express the true and fun back then and everything I wish this was a full episode and everything with Lamar on it too
I remember this show because Foxx and NBC had an acrimonious split and ABC gave him big bucks to do his own variety show. Sad part was the material that made it to the air was nowhere near as funny as the outtakes. Put this on a cable channel and you have a hit.
Proud I was Redd Foxx for a day. In Elementary we had a day when we dressed up as the person we wanted to represent for Black History Month, and Redd Foxx was my pick. ❤❤❤ RIP Redd.
Rip Redd Foxx ❤I love you people have soul out some love in your ❤️ for the journey on together 💋 don't be sourfull in your life or to others my friends 😍 I love you 💋 enjoy your journey ahead 💕
Bob Einstein and Albert Brooks (who changed his surname, for obvious reasons) were the sons of Harry Einstein, who played Parkyakarkus on radio comedy shows in the 1940s.
