1:14 I really appreciate the use of real life set pieces used to make the bone slums. all the detail, big and small, makes the world feel large and real. Not unlike the star wars prequels, where George Lucas green screened so much of the movie, that alot of the cgi looks terribly fake and has no sense of realism. It makes you wonder if the prequels were gonna be fully animated like Pixar. Thankfully Guillermo del Toro went as far as adding in alot of rich detail and personality into these set pieces that it makes the world feel large and real as I already said.
